Four new Sprites are live in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, and each one changes how you move, heal, or spot enemies during a match. Three are Rare, one is Legendary, and none of them are handed to you in the lobby — you have to spawn them mid-match and survive long enough to leave with them.
Quick answer: Input the directional cheat codes hidden around the island to spawn the Overshield, Onigiri, Mega Man, and X-Ray Sprites, then extract from the match with the Sprite in hand. If you are eliminated first, it does not get added to your collection.
All four new Fortnite Sprites and what they do

Two Special-tier Sprites sit alongside them this season. The Loot Hacker Crown Sprite carries its own passive into Battle Royale, and a Cheat Master Onigiri Sprite exists as a separate Special version of the Onigiri design rather than a recolor you unlock through mastery.
How to spawn the new Sprites with map cheat codes
Override’s Sprites are tied to cheat codes scattered across the island. You find a code written somewhere in the world, input the directional sequence, and a Sprite spawns at that spot for you to grab.
Codes are not the only route. Sprites also drop from eliminations — both player kills and sentries can leave one behind — so a contested landing can hand you a Sprite you never had to hunt for.
How to keep a Sprite: extraction and confirmation
Picking up a Sprite is only half of it. The Sprite is added to your collection when you extract from the match with it, and the collection screen in the lobby is where you confirm it landed. If the Sprite is not listed there after the match, it did not register.
The one failure case worth planning around is being eliminated while carrying it. Rare Sprites make you a target, so treat the run home as the risky part rather than the code hunt.
Sprite Dust costs and what Sprite Mastery changes
Summoning a Sprite costs Sprite Dust, and mastery is the lever that makes repeat summons cheap. Once a Sprite is fully mastered, its summon cost is permanently cut by 50 percent. That reduction sticks, so the Sprites you actually play are the ones worth grinding to mastery first.
Progress feeds a Sprites Mastery Rewards track, which is where the cosmetic payouts for all that work show up.

Two of the four are community designs. The Onigiri Sprite came from Enorull, who originally submitted a Bullet Sprite before Epic swapped in the Onigiri design instead.
The Legendary X-Ray Sprite was designed by Avila215 and is the rarest of the four currently in rotation.
Three more contest winners are still to come across mid-season updates: the Dumpster Dive Sprite by StinkyPrincessGoose, the Honey Sprite by Conejito_sam, and the Pond Sprite by Pine & Kiri. Sprites you collected in Season 3: Runners now live in the Sprite Garden and remain on your collection page next to this new generation.
Loot Hacks quality caps and the Sweeper Shotgun rework
Sprite Dust also feeds Loot Hacks, where you unlock and upgrade weapons like the Wrecker Revolver and the Caduceus Staff. The ceiling moved this update: weapon quality caps now scale from Rare to Legendary, replacing the old Epic to Mythic scaling. Spend accordingly, because the top-end payout is lower than it was.
The Sweeper Shotgun is back out of the vault and reworked. It now uses a standard spread pattern, its reload can be interrupted, the fire rate is faster, the magazine is smaller, and its maximum range is shorter. The short version: it hits harder up close and punishes you for trying to use it at range.
Other loot pool pieces to expect while hunting Sprites include the Deadeye Assault Rifle, Scorpion’s Kombat Kit, the Holo Twister Assault Rifle, and the Enhanced 8-Bit Shotgun. The Caduceus Staff is the healing option among them.
Match overrides that can interrupt a Sprite run
Override consoles are placed around the map and let you change the rules of the match mid-game. Interacting with one brings up a “SELECT AN OVERRIDE” prompt, with options like Squad Prop Hunt, which turns players into props.
Note: an override applies to the whole match, so triggering one while you are carrying an unextracted Sprite can change the conditions you were counting on to get out safely.
If you only have time to chase one, the X-Ray Sprite is the highest-value pickup of the four — it is the only Legendary in the group, and periodic enemy marking does more for your survival odds than a longer slide. Master whichever one you settle on, and the halved summon cost makes every match after that considerably cheaper to run.
