The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Claim the Sangoran Wayfarer Armour Set

The pre-order armour lands in your inventory automatically once you clear the prologue and leave Laslea Gate.

The pre-order armour lands in your inventory automatically once you clear the prologue and leave Laslea Gate.

The pre-order reward for The Blood of Dawnwalker does not show up in a store menu, a redemption screen, or a code box. It arrives inside the game world, and only after Coen has finished a specific stretch of the opening story. That trips up a lot of players who check their inventory in the first hour, find nothing, and assume the bonus failed to attach to their account.

Quick answer: Finish the prologue quests around Laslea Gate, including Smoke and Ashes, and step out through the gate into the open world. The three Sangoran Wayfarer armour pieces are added to your inventory on their own.

What the pre-order bonus contains

Pre-ordering any edition grants the Sangoran Wayfarer’s Armour Set, a three-piece kit covering the chest, legs, and feet. The chest piece is the standout, carrying Epic rarity and a set of vampire-leaning bonuses that suit early night play.

Breastplate of the Sanguran WayfarerChest (Epic Heavy)114
Chausse of the Sanguran WayfarerLegs80
Greaves of the Sanguran WayfarerBoots62

The breastplate carries +4% Claw Damage, +4% Damage against Mortals, and +9.6% Blood Drinking Restoration. It is a head start rather than a game-breaker, and the armour is replaced fairly quickly by gear you find in Vale Sangora.

Requirements before the armour unlocks

Two conditions gate the reward. First, you must have pre-ordered the game before launch, on any platform and in any edition. Second, Coen must have progressed through the prologue to the point where he has been turned and the story pushes him out of his home village.

The prologue is split into several linked quests and none of them can be skipped, since they carry the main story. Laslea Gate itself is marked on the map as an entrance to Coen’s home village, and it functions as the boundary between the scripted opening and the open world.

Steps to trigger the delivery

Play through the opening prologue quests without detouring. They run in a fixed order and each one feeds into the next, so there is no path that skips ahead to the reward.
Continue until Coen becomes a vampire and night falls over the village. This transformation is the story beat that switches on the second half of the prologue.
Complete Smoke and Ashes. Follow the quest objectives as they appear; the mission is short and does not branch in a way that can lock you out. Finishing it also pops the A Dawnwalker is Born trophy.
Open the map if you lose your bearings and set your marker on Laslea Gate. It is the exit point from the village area, and the prologue funnels you toward it.

Walk out through Laslea Gate into the open world. Crossing that threshold is the trigger, and the armour is granted the moment the transition finishes.

How to confirm the armour arrived

A letter appears after the relevant prologue quest wraps up, and the three pieces land directly in your inventory. Open the inventory and look for the Breastplate, Chausse, and Greaves of the Sanguran Wayfarer under the armour categories. All three can be equipped straight away with no level or quest requirement attached.

Note: If the pieces are missing, the usual reason is that you have not actually left the village yet. Reaching the gate is not enough on its own — you have to pass through it and load into the wider world.

If you did not pre-order

The set is not locked behind the pre-order window. Rebel Wolves built the armour into the game itself, and the store listings note with an asterisk that the player can obtain it later in the game. Buying after launch means a longer wait rather than a permanent loss.

Editions differ in what else they bundle. The Standard Edition is the base game; Eclipse adds a digital World Compendium, soundtrack, and comic book; the Collector’s Edition, sold only through the official Dawnwalker store, stacks those with a SteelBook, a physical Vale Sangora world map and compendium, and a PureArts Coen figurine. None of those extras change how the Wayfarer armour is delivered.

Because the whole reward hinges on story progress rather than a claim screen, the fastest route is simply to push through the prologue and stop worrying about your inventory until Coen is out of the village. Once the gate is behind you, the Wayfarer set is yours to wear or shelve as you like.
