Grab the map from the bandit camp southwest of Rockfalls, then dig at the tree on the pond's island.

Grab the map from the bandit camp southwest of Rockfalls, then dig at the tree on the pond’s island.

Treasure maps in The Blood of Dawnwalker never mark a spot on your world map for you. The Pond Islet map is a good example — it is a hand-drawn sketch of a pond with a lump of land in the middle, and it is on you to work out which pond that is. The answer sits a short run from the bandit camp where you steal the map in the first place.

Quick answer: Take the Treasure Map: Pond Islet from the loot pile beside the tent at the bandit camp southwest of Rockfalls, then swim to the small island in the middle of the nearby pond and dig at the base of the large tree to open the buried chest.

Treasure Map: Pond Islet location at the Rockfalls bandit camp

The map starts as a stealable item, not a quest handout. Open the world map and look southwest of Rockfalls for the bandit camp icon — that camp is the only thing you need before the hunt begins.

Travel to the bandit camp southwest of Rockfalls. Deal with the camp however you prefer, then head for the tent.
Walk up to the loot pile sitting next to the tent and steal the Treasure Map: Pond Islet from it. The pickup registers as a theft, so expect the usual reaction if anyone in the camp is still standing.

Open the map item and look at the drawing. It shows a pond with a single island in the centre and no other landmarks, which is your only visual clue for the dig site.

How to track the quest and mark the island

Picking up the map adds Bandit’s Treasure Map: Rockfalls – Pond Islet to your journal as an activity. Tracking it puts the objective on your HUD, but it will not draw the dig location for you, so place your own marker before you set off.

Open the journal, select Bandit’s Treasure Map: Rockfalls – Pond Islet, and choose the “Search for the treasure” objective to track it.

Switch to the world map, find the pond near the bandit camp, and drop a custom marker directly on the small patch of land in the middle of the water. That marker is what you actually navigate to.

Digging up the Pond Islet treasure

The island is not reachable on foot. You have to enter the water and swim, which means the run itself is short but you will spend a moment crossing.

Run to the pond and swim out to the islet in the centre. The tracked objective stays on screen the whole way, so you can confirm you are heading to the right body of water.

Climb onto the island and head for the large tree growing on it. The tree is the landmark the sketch is pointing at.

Move to the ground at the base of the tree and dig. The chest comes out of the soil and can be looted straight away.

How to confirm the treasure hunt is finished

Emptying the chest is the completion trigger. The activity clears from your tracked objectives and the journal entry closes out — there is no follow-up step and nothing to hand in.

If the dig option never appears, work through the short list of causes rather than searching the shoreline. You need the map itself in your inventory, you need to be standing on the central island rather than the bank, and you need to be right at the foot of the large tree instead of anywhere else on the islet.

Note: digging is the part of a treasure map activity that eats into your clock. The Laslea Glen dig, for instance, consumes a full time segment, so treat each treasure hunt as a scheduled detour rather than something to squeeze in between objectives.

Every treasure map in The Blood of Dawnwalker

Pond Islet is one of ten treasure maps in the game, all filed as quest-tier books. Each one works the same way — find the map, match the drawing to a real location, dig.

Compared with the game’s other buried caches, Pond Islet is one of the cheaper ones to clear. There is no beast standing over the dig site, the island sits close to the camp where you take the map, and the only real obstacle is the swim. Clear the bandits, pull the map off the pile, and the rest is a few minutes of travel.
