The Week 3 stage of the LEGO® NINJAGO®: Dragons Rising collaboration in Creatures of Sonaria added a boss fight with a hard gate on it. You cannot bring your favorite Tier 5 flier and brute-force it. The Elemental only accepts one species, and the reward for a single successful clear is the new photovore Acona.
Quick answer: Grow an Arc Dragon of Life to adult or elder, travel to the Boss Dungeon in CENTRAL ROCKFACES, destroy the green elemental spires to strip the boss’s shield, then attack the boss itself during its vulnerable windows until its 6.90K HP is gone. One clear unlocks the Acona species and pays 500 Elemental Energy.
Requirement: An adult or elder Arc Dragon of Life
The Elemental fight is species-locked. You need an Arc Dragon of Life, and it has to be at least adult — a teen or juvenile will not be accepted into the arena. An elder works too, and gives you a bigger health pool to survive the boss’s area attacks while you work the spires.

Add to Google Preferences →Boss Dungeon location in Central Rockfaces
The entrance sits in the CENTRAL ROCKFACES region, marked on the map as the Boss Dungeon. Walking onto it teleports you into the arena, where a countdown runs before the Elemental spawns. Use that countdown to position yourself near a spire rather than in the middle of the floor.
Fight order: Break the shield, then damage the boss
The Elemental runs on two states, and mixing them up is why most attempts stall out. Its health bar does not move while the shield is up.
| Phase | What to attack |
|---|---|
| Shield phase | The green elemental spires ringing the arena. Each one you destroy drains the boss’s shield. |
| HP phase | The boss directly, but only during its vulnerability windows. Its total pool is 6.90K HP. |
Note: More players in the arena means the boss dies faster, and the shield phase in particular goes much quicker when spires are split between people.
How to confirm Acona unlocked
When the boss goes down, a reward screen lists Elemental Energy x500 and Acona Species. After that, Acona appears in your creature list as a playable species — no further missions, no second clear needed. If you do not want to fight at all, Acona also becomes available for purchase in the shop on the 11th.
The two things that stop the unlock are bringing the wrong creature and attacking out of order. If the arena refuses you, your Arc Dragon of Life is not yet adult. If the boss’s health bar is not moving, the shield is still up and the spires are still standing.
Acona stats and abilities
Acona is a small, support-leaning land creature rather than a fighter. It spawns as a pack of three, which is where most of its value comes from.
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Type / Diet | Terrestrial, Photovore |
| Tier | 1 (Tiny) |
| Health | 1,880 (7% regen) |
| Damage | 110 |
| Stamina | 110 (3 regen) |
| Weight | 1,450 lbs |
| Speed | 25 walk / 140 sprint |
| Growth time | Adult 9m 7s, full grown 13m 40s |
| Active abilities | Burrower (4), Seedling Mist, Totem (Poison), Vanish |
| Passives | Block Bleed (35%), Block Poison (45%), Quick Recovery, Soft Landing, Strength In Numbers |
Vanish is the ability worth learning first. It pairs with the game’s scent-hiding tasks, letting a pack drop out of sight instead of trying to win a fight with 110 damage. Seedling Mist and the poison Totem cover the rest of its kit, and Strength In Numbers rewards keeping the trio together.

Gorvulith: The other creature in the same update
The September 4th, 2026 update also added Gorvulith, a Medium (Tier 3) flying carnivore with 2,000 health, 260 damage, 80 stamina, and a rock Breath attack. It has a corrosion attack and can climb. Unlike Acona, it comes from the monthly mission track, not the boss fight.
The monthly missions ask you to log in on at least 10 unique days, nest or be nested 50 times, find 10 explorer tokens, and complete the Weekly Mission twice. A Mission Unlock Token, priced at 149 Robux, auto-completes the mission and skips all of that.

Acona is the only reward tied to the Elemental, and it takes exactly one successful clear. Grow the dragon, learn the spire-then-boss rhythm, and the fight is a short detour rather than a grind.
