Where the hidden cave still sits, what the soldiers’ bribe changes, and the exact rewards for shutting it down.

Bakir’s Distilleries: Offshoot is one of three distillery Court Activities tied to Bakir, the vampiric vassal flooding Vale Sangora with cheap vodka. Unlike the barn and yard versions, this one hides its equipment underground, which is why some players clear the camp, see the objective stay unfinished, and walk away thinking the quest is bugged.

Quick answer: Travel west of Svartby City and approach the camp north of the river to trigger the quest, kill every soldier (including after refusing their profit-sharing offer), then walk into the cave and interact with the copper still to destroy it. The quest ends with 250 XP and 1 Skill Point.

The journal entry frames the whole distillery chain the same way. Bakir is drowning the valley in cheap booze so nobody sobers up long enough to resist the vrakhiri, and shutting each operation down raises his anger level toward the point where his own storyline unlocks.

How to find and start the quest

Open the world map and look west of Svartby City, toward the wooded ground near Rock Ridge. The site shows as an available activity marker rather than a named quest, so track it before you set off.
Ride or run to the marker and stay on the northern bank of the river. Crossing to the wrong side leaves you circling terrain with no way up to the camp.
Walk into the camp itself. The quest title card for Bakir’s Distilleries: Offshoot appears as soon as you get close enough, and the objectives populate in the journal immediately.

Clearing the guards and the profit-sharing offer

Several armed soldiers in red and green defend the site. Fight them as you would any other Court Activity group, keeping in mind that claws at night hit harder than the sword if you arrive after dusk.

Partway through the fight a cutscene interrupts. One soldier drops his guard and pleads, “Stay your hand! Please! No one needs to die today,” then pitches a deal. Leave the still running, he says, and the vodka money gets split.

The branch here decides the whole quest, and there is no way back to the other path afterwards.

ChoiceWhat happens
“I don’t do business with the likes of you.”The soldier answers “Pity. But then again, more for us.” Combat resumes and you destroy the still.
“Alright. Deal.”The operation keeps running. The journal switches to waiting a day, then collecting your cut from the soldiers.
“And Bakir won’t mind?”A probing line before you commit either way.

Taking the money is the reason the closing journal note calls this a rogue operation. The distillery was never really Bakir’s to begin with, just corrupt soldiers running their own racket under his banner.

Sabotaging the distillery inside the cave

Finish off the remaining guards after refusing the deal. The sabotage objective stays greyed out while distillers are still alive in the camp.
Open the journal if the objective text is unclear. The entry spells out that killing the guards alone is not enough and the equipment itself has to go.

Head into the cave mouth at the edge of the camp. This is the detail that separates Offshoot from Ends and Means and Coercion and Duress, where the stills sit in a barn or out in the yard.
Interact with the copper stills. Coen wrecks the setup in a short cutscene, time advances, and the objective ticks off.

Confirming the quest completed

A “QUEST ENDED: Bakir’s Distilleries: Offshoot” banner appears the moment the sabotage cutscene finishes, followed by 250 XP and 1 Skill Point on screen. Because the activity burns three time segments, the world clock jumps forward as well, often landing you in the middle of the night.

If it has not closed out, one of two things is true. Either a distiller is still breathing somewhere in the camp, or you never went underground and destroyed the equipment. There is also a hard cutoff. Once you commit to going after Brencis, the quest resolves with Coen simply noting he has no time left for it, and the reward is gone.

Tip: If you accepted the bribe instead, put the return trip on your route planning. The payout only becomes collectable after a full day has passed, and the soldiers have to still be at the camp when you come back for it.

Offshoot is one of twelve Bakir Court Activities, and you do not need all of them. Clearing roughly three quarters of a vassal’s operations pushes their anger to the maximum, which is what unlocks the boss questline, so treat this one as a cheap three-segment contribution toward that meter rather than a mandatory stop.
