A lot of the free currency in Where Winds Meet never gets claimed, not because it is hard to earn, but because it lives three menus deep in tabs that never flash a notification badge. Weekly stock quietly resets, unspent currencies pile up, and boss chests expire. Most of it takes a few minutes to collect.
Quick answer: Open the Shop, go to Featured > Pack, and claim the free Bag of Coins (10,000 coins, one per week). Then spend any Essence of Earth or Essence of Heaven in the Exchange Shop, and clear your Hero’s Realm boss weeklies with Smart Assist.
Weekly free and low-cost claims to grab first
These reset on a weekly cycle, so skipping a week means the stock is gone rather than banked. The Featured section of the main Shop is the one people miss most, since it sits next to paid bundles and reads like a storefront rather than a rewards page.

The Fish Collection tab has a gate attached. The weekly Lingering Melody only appears once you have collected 20,000 Jade Fish, so it is worth checking your total before assuming the slot is empty.
Season Shop tabs worth checking every reset
The Season Shop is not one list. It splits into Combat Development, Gear Chest, Legendary Gear Exchange, Profession Development, and Season Catch-up, and each tab holds its own weekly stock. Combat Development is the highest-value one for most players, carrying weapon tips, Inner Way Notes, Mystic Skill Breakthroughs, and Golden Silk Coin Bags that refresh on the weekly timer.
Season Catch-up exists for anyone who started late or took a break. It stocks catch-up chests and gear so you are not manually grinding back to the current tier. The Legendary Gear Exchange lets you convert currency into a custom chest and pick the piece you actually need instead of rolling for it.
Alongside the shop, the Upgrade Realm engagement track runs in the same menu and pays out weekly and seasonal rewards for simply playing. It fills passively, but nothing is handed to you automatically, so the rewards sit there until you tap them.
Draw currency you already have: Essence of Earth and Essence of Heaven
Unused draw attempts do not evaporate. They convert into Essence of Earth and Essence of Heaven, which are spendable in the Exchange Shop on Lingering Melodies and limited-time cosmetics. A Lingering Melody runs 12 Essence of Earth or 36 Essence of Heaven, so a stockpile you forgot about is effectively free pulls.
The Rhythmic Echo draw menu also runs an Appearance Collection Progress track underneath the banner itself. Hitting set draw milestones guarantees specific cosmetics, including the Floral Majesty avatar and the Dominion hairstyle, independent of what you actually pull. If you are already drawing, check the track first so you know which milestone you are close to.
Taiping Mausoleum: Path Trial first clears and the Legacy Exchange
Under the Wandering Paths menu, Taiping Mausoleum holds a set of Path Trials with one-time first-clear rewards attached to each. Those first clears are the single biggest chunk of value in the mode, and they do not repeat, so there is no reason to leave them uncleared.
Clearing trials awards Uncut Jade, which feeds the Legacy Exchange shop in the same menu. Weekly limits cap you at five Inner Way Note Chests and five Mystic Skill Breakthrough Boxes, both of which are direct character power rather than cosmetics. Spend down to the cap each week or the jade just accumulates.
Casual Co-op and Arena tracks that fill with minimal effort
Casual Co-op is where the low-effort upgrade materials live. Well of Heaven Special Training, Blessed Land, and Five Animal Frolics can each be finished with very little active input, and they hand over upgrade materials for the trouble. None of them require a coordinated group.
The Arena side runs on the Ready Spear activity track plus weekly and seasonal Arena quests. Weekly activity points cap at 4,200, which is your ceiling for the reset, and once you hit it, further matches stop contributing to that track.
Note: rank milestone rewards have come through blank for some players after a competitive rank reset, showing a “You received” message with no item attached. If that happens, the track itself is not broken, but the milestone payout is worth verifying in your inventory before grinding rank purely for the reward.
Sword Trial and Joint Battles sit in the same category of fast value. Both are group challenges, and with a full party they finish quickly relative to what they pay out, which makes them a better use of a short session than solo content.
Clear Hero’s Realm bosses with Smart Assist
Hero’s Realm boss fights, including Carnival Voyage, support a Smart Assist mode that hands control to AI companions. Turn it on and the AI can take the boss down on its own, which turns a weekly that would otherwise need a group into something you can finish alone.
The tradeoff is a smaller payout. A Smart Assist clear of Carnival Voyage awards 15.6 character EXP against 23 for a manual player group. If you have a party available, run it manually; if you do not, the assisted clear still closes out the weekly rather than leaving it untouched.
Free rewards out in the open world
Not everything is menu-gated. Heroes of the Four Seas martial fellows appear across Hexi-Qinchuan Path, Rivergaze Plateau, and Hexi-Liangzhou Town, and defeating one awards a free Lingering Melody. They are marked on the map, so it is a routing problem rather than a search.
Wind Sense also works on townspeople. Scanning NPCs in towns and buildings reveals what they are carrying, and pickpocketing can yield genuinely useful items such as Healer Giftboxes alongside food and drink like Pan-Fried Persimmon and Camel Milk Wine.
One more refund worth knowing about sits on the Martial Arts screen. Resetting a weapon returns 100 percent of the breakthrough tips and Wolframite Weight you invested, plus 80 percent of the Bluestone Locks and Coins, which makes switching weapons far cheaper than it looks.
None of this requires a spreadsheet. Open the Shop, the Season Shop, the Exchange Shop, and Wandering Paths once at the start of each weekly reset, clear whatever stock and first-clear rewards are sitting there, and you will collect most of the free value the game hands out without changing how you actually play.
