Jungle is the second island in the First Sea, and after the Update 30 rework it holds three hidden objectives that sit outside the normal Monkeys and Gorillas grind. Each one you finish awards a star and secret levels, which are the only way to push a character past the standard level cap. All three are handed in at the same place, the Adventurer NPC standing in the middle of the island.
Quick answer: Pick up the Grappling Hook at the base of the zipline tree and reconnect the line, punch the tree with the suspicious footprints to knock down the monkey holding the Stolen Hat, then defeat the Gorilla King. Return to the Adventurer after each one to claim the star.
What the three Jungle Island stars are worth
Island Secrets exist on 16 islands in Sea 1, with 40 stars available in total. The Jungle set is the earliest group most players can realistically clear, since the island is tuned for levels 10 to 30 and the Gorilla King sits at level 25.
| Milestone | What it unlocks |
|---|---|
| First star on any island | The world map HUD appears on screen and tracks star counts per island |
| Each secret completed | One star, plus secret levels and quest rewards from the Adventurer |
| Secret levels | Progression past the normal cap of 1,800, up to level 3,000 |
| All 40 stars in Sea 1 | The teleporter in Middle Town |
The Adventurer also carries a “Rumor” dialogue option alongside the Monkeys, Gorillas, and Gorilla King quests. That is where hints about the island’s secrets come from, including the line about special fruit growing in the trees when the time is right.
The reworked Jungle layout is worth a look before you start, since the zipline platform and the second island are both part of the update.

Secret 2: Return the Stolen Hat to the Adventurer
A monkey has taken the Adventurer’s hat and is hiding in one of the island’s trees. The correct tree is not fixed, so the search is the actual work here.

Secret 3: Defeat the Gorilla King
The last star is a boss kill. The Gorilla King is a level 25 boss on the smaller Jungle island, and it is on a spawn timer rather than being permanently available. Instead of waiting blind, you can check its status from Middle Town.

How to check your Jungle star count
Open the world map. Jungle shows a star counter that starts at zero and ticks up as each secret is turned in, so three filled stars means the island is finished. If you have never completed a secret anywhere, the map HUD only appears on screen after your first star, which is usually the zipline.
Levels are the other confirmation. Rewards from the Adventurer include secret levels, so a character sitting at the 1,800 cap will start climbing again toward 3,000 after a hand-in.
Common reasons a Jungle secret won’t complete
- You finished the objective but skipped the hand-in. None of the three stars register until you speak to the Adventurer again.
- You are aiming the Grappling Hook from the ground. It only connects from the edge of the wooden platform, and the target point must be highlighted green.
- You are hitting the wrong tree. Only the trunk that shows the suspicious footsteps prompt drops the monkey, and its position is random.
- You left the Stolen Hat on the ground. It drops at the base of the tree after the monkey dies and has to be picked up.
- The Gorilla King has not spawned yet. Check with the Secrets Master rather than camping the spawn point.
Clearing the Jungle set is a good first target because everything sits within a short run of one quest giver, and the boss is low level enough that most players can solo it. Once the island shows three stars, the same pattern carries over to the rest of the First Sea, where each island hides its own trio of objectives and the Middle Town teleporter waits at 40 stars.
