Magma Village, the volcano island in the First Sea, holds three separate Island Secrets. Each one uses a different trigger, and each one only counts once you hand the objective back in to the quest NPC in the village. Clear all three and the world map switches the island over to a full three-star badge, paying out the exclusive levels that sit outside normal quest grinding.
Quick answer: Break the crater in the lava pool and wipe out every Magma Elemental, destroy the Magma Drill inside Volcano Cave, then defeat Magma General during the island’s hourly boss event — returning to the village quest NPC after each one to claim the reward and lock in the star.
The three Magma Village secrets and what triggers them
The island sits at the south end of the First Sea, past Colosseum, and is built for levels 300 to 375. All three secrets start and end at the same place in the village near the docks, but the triggers are spread across the surface, the mine below the island, and the volcano itself.
| Star | Trigger | Target |
|---|---|---|
| First | Hit the crater in the lava pool by the dock | Large Magma Elemental plus every Mini Magma Elemental |
| Second | Enter Volcano Cave after the drilling message appears | Magma Drill (14,802,110 HP) |
| Third | Break the glowing lava pockets during the island’s boss event | Magma General (Awakened) [Lv. 350] [Boss], 19,923,039 HP |
Start by finding the quest NPC standing beside one of the houses near the docks in Blox Fruits. Talk to them before you go anywhere else, because the objectives will not register as complete if you have never opened the dialogue.

Magma Village was the first island in the game with a surface that damages you, and two of the three secrets take place standing in or next to it. The lava chips away at your health constantly, and it often does more damage across a long fight than the enemies do.
Magma fruit users take no damage from the island’s lava stream. The transformed forms of Mammoth, Leopard and Venom also ignore it. Everyone else should pull fights back onto solid rock wherever possible and carry a healing item into the boss fight. Most enemies here have Aura, so long-range fruits and fighting styles land far more consistently than a melee weapon with no sword stats behind it.
First star: clear the lava pool elementals

Second star: destroy the Magma Drill in Volcano Cave
This is the secret most players stall on, because the target is not always there. The Living Skeleton on the island tips you off that something needs shutting down underground, and the drill itself only appears after the server broadcasts the message “A loud drilling shakes Magma Village.”

Third star: Magma General and the hourly boss event
The final secret is gated behind a rotating event that only runs on one island at a time, and the schedule is held by a single NPC in Middle Town.

How to confirm all three stars registered
Open the world map and look at the Magma Village entry. A finished island shows three filled stars against its name. If you see two, the missing objective is almost always one you completed in the world but never turned in.
These are the conditions that stop a star from appearing:
- You killed the elementals or the drill but did not return to the quest NPC to close the dialogue.
- The Magma Drill has not spawned on your server yet — the drilling message has to fire first.
- Some Mini Magma Elementals are still alive somewhere around the pool.
- The Secrets Master named a different island, so the boss event is not running at the volcano.
- At least one lava pocket on the volcano wall is still intact, so the eruption cutscene never plays and the boss stays dormant.
Worth planning around: the lava pool and the drill can both be done at any time, while the boss is locked to the hourly rotation. Clear the first two stars while you wait for the Secrets Master to call Magma Village, and the whole island folds into a single trip.
