Awakened bosses in the First Sea do not sit on a fixed rotation you can memorize. They stir on their own schedule, and the only reliable way to know which one is coming up is to ask the Secrets Master, an NPC tucked away in Middle Town. Talk to him, pick the right dialogue line, and the game hands you a live countdown.
Quick answer: Go to Middle Town, enter the main building behind The Saw’s spawn, head to the second floor, talk to the Secrets Master, and select “Which boss stirs next?” to see the active spawn timer.
Secrets Master location in Middle Town
Middle Town sits in the middle of the First Sea and doubles as a fast travel stop, so most players pass through it constantly without ever going inside the main building. The whole island is flagged as a Safe Zone with PvP disabled, which means you can take your time here even at low level.

Add to Google Preferences →Which dialogue option shows the spawn timer
He gives you several lines, and only one of them is useful for boss hunting. Pick the wrong one and he stonewalls you.
| Dialogue option | What happens |
|---|---|
| “Which boss stirs next?” | Displays the active spawn timers, such as THE SAW [1:13:49] |
| “Tell me a secret, please!” | He refuses: “What secrets? None of your business… you don’t get to be the Secrets Master by telling secrets.” |
| “I heard you knew a helpful secret about Middle Town.” | Asks him about the island’s own secret rather than boss timers |
| “Nevermind” | Closes the conversation |
The timer format is a straightforward countdown in hours, minutes, and seconds. A reading like THE SAW [1:13:49] means that boss is a little over an hour out, which lines up with The Saw’s roughly 1 hour 15 minute cycle in Middle Town.

Why the Secrets Master says nothing is stirring
If no awakened boss is queued on your server, he answers with: “Nothing is stirring right now. Even the monsters need a rest.” That is not a bug and there is no way to force a spawn from the dialogue.
Awakened spawns are per-server, so the fastest fix is to hop to a different server and ask again, or wait for the next hourly window. Several awakened bosses only get a chance to appear each hour at the 00:XX mark, so an empty answer at minute 40 tells you little about what the next hour holds.
Awakened boss spawn triggers in the First Sea
Knowing which boss is stirring is only half the job. Most awakened fights still need you to do something at the boss’s island before it actually appears, and the NPC will not do that part for you.
| Awakened boss | Island | Spawn condition |
|---|---|---|
| Awakened Gorilla King | Jungle | Chance to spawn every hour at the 00:XX mark at the Gorilla King’s clearing |
| Awakened Chef | Pirate Village | Use the cauldron on the Tavern’s top floor, add any Fish plus Yeti Fur, then press Cook |
| Awakened Yeti | Frozen Village | Destroy three green snowballs around the Yeti spawn to light all three torches |
| Awakened Magma Admiral | Magma Village | Destroy every lava pocket attached around the volcano |
Note: the Awakened Chef is the outlier here. Because you cook the trigger item yourself, you do not need the Secrets Master’s timer to start that fight.
How to confirm the awakened boss actually spawned
The clearest confirmation is visual and happens at the boss arena, not in the dialogue box. At Frozen Village, each green snowball you break lights one torch at the Yeti spawn, and the awakened version only appears once all three are lit. At Magma Village, the boss shows up after the last lava pocket on the volcano is gone.
The most common reason a trigger fails is an incomplete one. Two out of three torches, or one lava pocket left on the far side of the volcano, means nothing spawns. Sweep the full arena before assuming the timer was wrong.
After the kill, the reward is not automatic either. Return to the Pirate Adventurer or Quest Giver NPC on that island and speak to them to claim it. Each completed island secret awards one star along with stat points, money, EXP, and gems, and collecting three stars on every First Sea island unlocks that island’s teleporter.
Once you have the route down, checking the Secrets Master takes under a minute, and it is worth doing every time you spawn into a fresh server. A quick trip up those stairs is the difference between camping an island for an hour on a guess and knowing exactly where to be.
