NBA 2K27: How to Get Level 40 on the Fire and Concrete Reward Track

The trick to clearing the last stars for 10,000 VC, the Robot Snake Head, and The Consummate Enthusiast trophy.

The trick to clearing the last stars for 10,000 VC, the Robot Snake Head, and The Consummate Enthusiast trophy.

Fire & Concrete is the modern-day MyCAREER story in NBA 2K27, and it runs on a 40-level reward track fed by stars you earn from story chapters and side objectives. The problem shows up right at the end. You beat the story, win the championship, wrap the sibling rivalry quest, and the track still refuses to hit 40.

Quick answer: Create a second MyPLAYER build and replay the opening Fire & Concrete content on it. Those stars stack onto the same reward track, pushing you from Level 38 to Level 40 for the 10,000 VC payout and the Robot Snake Head.

What Level 40 on the Fire and Concrete reward track unlocks

The top of the track is the reason people grind it out. Level 40 pays a flat currency bonus plus a cosmetic head item, and it trips a Gold trophy on PlayStation 5 (an achievement on Xbox Series X|S).

Why the star counter stops at 162

Finishing everything Fire & Concrete gives a single MyPLAYER leaves the counter reading 162/168, which lands you on Reward Track Level 38. There is nothing left to replay for stars on that build. The remaining objectives are simply gone once they have been cleared.

Level 40 needs 180 stars in total, and the track is not locked to one MyPLAYER. Stars earned on a fresh build add to the same running total, which is what makes the workaround below work.

How to earn the last stars with a second MyPLAYER build

Budget roughly an hour. You are not playing the story again — you only need the earliest chapter and a few of the prelude tasks that hand out stars.

Open the Quests tab and check MyCAREER Quests to see where you currently sit. The Fire & Concrete entry shows your reward track level and your star count, so you know exactly how many stars are still missing.

Go to the Select Build Type menu and choose Create New. Your finished MyPLAYER stays untouched — this second build exists purely to re-open the early Fire & Concrete objectives.

Play Chapter 1: Heat Check and finish the opening game. It takes around 12 minutes and awards 3 stars, which is enough on its own to move the counter to 165/168.

Clear the shooting practice and the go-to shot task. Together they run about 20 minutes and are the quickest star source outside of the chapter games.
Play three games at Rucker Park, scoring at least 11 points in each, then complete the pick-and-roll task at Deon’s Gym. That block is another 20 minutes or so and covers the last stars you need.

How to confirm Level 40 unlocked

You will get two confirmations. The Consummate Enthusiast trophy notification pops on screen the moment the track ticks over to Level 40, and the Fire & Concrete entry in the quest menu updates to show the track completed with 10,000 VC granted.

If the trophy has not appeared, you are still short on stars rather than blocked by anything else. Check the counter in MyCAREER Quests and keep working through the remaining prelude tasks on the new build until it fills.

Equipping the Robot Snake Head

The Robot Snake Head is a cosmetic, not a gear piece, so it lives in the appearance menu rather than your apparel loadout. Open your MyPLAYER’s appearance options after the unlock and select it from the head items to swap it in.

Note: the cosmetic is tied to your account, so you can equip it on either build once Level 40 clears.

The second build is disposable if you want it to be. Once the stars land and the track hits 40, nothing stops you from going back to your main MyPLAYER with the VC banked and the Robot Snake Head sitting in your appearance options.
