Gub is one of the Secret unlocks in Find the Brainrot, and it is not something you stumble across while sweeping the map. It is a delivery job. A letter spawns in a mailbox on the main map, and the recipient is an alien sitting inside a UFO above the moon.
Quick answer: Take the strange letter from the mailbox outside the glass cafe on the main map, ride the rocket to the moon, walk until a UFO beams you up, then choose “Give envelope” on the alien inside to unlock Gub.
What Gub is and why the quest has two locations
Gub is a pigeon dressed as a mail carrier. It wears a mailman cap, has a pouch on its chest, a backpack, and a parcel stamped “EXPRESS #6767”. The character reads as a joke about postal delivery, and the unlock plays that joke straight.
The important structural detail is that the chain spans two areas. You pick up the item on the main map and hand it over off-world. Nothing on the moon triggers unless you are already carrying the envelope, so the order is fixed.
| Stage | Where | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Pick up | Mailbox by the glass cafe, main map | “Open letter” gives you “A strange letter” |
| Travel | Rocket pad with the Brazil flag | Countdown from 5 launches you to the moon |
| Contact | Moon surface | A UFO appears and beams you inside |
| Hand off | Inside the UFO | “Give envelope” on the alien unlocks Gub |

How to confirm Gub unlocked
The game tells you outright. A “YOU FOUND!” banner fills the screen with Gub named beneath it and tagged as a Secret. Your index counter also ticks up by one, so a before-and-after glance at the number in the corner is a quick second check.
After that, use the “Exit UFO” option to leave. The unlock is already banked at that point, so there is no need to repeat the delivery.
Why the Gub delivery fails to trigger
Only a few things break this chain, and all of them come down to sequence rather than luck.
- You launched without taking the letter. The mailbox stop has to come first, otherwise the moon leg does nothing for you.
- You stood still on the moon. The UFO shows up while you are moving across the surface, so keep walking rather than waiting on the landing spot.
- You skipped the beam. The green tractor beam is the only way inside the UFO, and the alien is the only place the envelope can be handed over.
- You missed the rocket window. The countdown is short, so board before it starts rather than sprinting in at “Launch in 1!”.
Note: Gub also exists in Steal a Brainrot as a Secret costing $900M and generating $5M/s, with higher rates on mutated variants. That is a separate game and a separate economy, and none of it affects the Find the Brainrot unlock described here.
Find the Brainrot currently holds 591 characters in its index, and the ones tagged Secret tend to work like this — a small errand hidden behind an item pickup rather than a needle-in-a-haystack search. Once you know the letter sits at the cafe mailbox and the recipient is off-world, Gub takes about a minute of travel from start to finish.
