Besieged Ruins is one of the smaller dungeons in the Ruins of Mammon, and it exists for one reason: it holds the Zealot’s Stone. There is no boss, no puzzle, and no branching path. What trips people up is the entrance, which is tucked against a wall on a lower ledge with no obvious signposting.
Quick answer: Travel to the High Lord’s Courtyard Beacon, head east and drop down two levels to the lowest area with the jump pad, then follow the wall to the cave entrance and ride the lift down. Inside, clear the room, then interact with the Armed Knave helmet at the far end and play the memory to its end to receive the Zealot’s Stone.
Besieged Ruins location: east of the High Lord’s Courtyard Beacon
The dungeon sits in the eastern stretch of the Ruins of Mammon, directly east of the High Lord’s Courtyard Beacon. The important detail is elevation. The entrance is not on the courtyard level — it is two levels below, in the low open area where a jump pad and a group of enemies are waiting. Once you are down there, the doorway is set into the rock face rather than standing out in the open.
Like every dungeon in the game, Besieged Ruins is not missable. It stays available in free roam after the final boss, so you can leave it until later and still finish it before starting New Game+.

Clearing the ruins and both chests
Step off the lift and go straight ahead. A Neophyte Sester waits at the front of the chamber, so you have a checkpoint on hand before anything else.
The main room opens to your right and is held by Cultists. Deal with them first, because both pieces of loot are inside the room they are defending and you do not want to be opening chests mid-fight.

Once the room is clear, the chest on the left side contains Dorsalite. Keep moving deeper and the chest on the right holds a Winterglass Gem. The stone sarcophagi scattered around the chamber can be broken open too, and they carry smaller pickups such as Glimpse and Divinite.
The Schism of Mammon memory and the Zealot’s Stone
At the far end of the room sits an Armed Knave helmet. Interacting with it pulls you into a memory titled The Schism of Mammon, dated 849, and this is the actual objective of the dungeon.

The memory plays out as a fight sequence in someone else’s shoes. You cut through waves of armored attackers and spectral enemies, and it ends with a Knight of Mammon encounter where you are struck by an arrow. That defeat is scripted — it is how the memory is supposed to finish, not a failure state you can avoid.
How to confirm it worked: control returns to the Harbinger back in the dungeon and the Zealot’s Stone is granted immediately. You will see the new Tarstone appear in your inventory at level 1. If the item is not there, the memory was exited before its ending, so touch the helmet again and play it through to the arrow.
Note: the map does not track dungeon completion for you. To mark Besieged Ruins as done, hover it on the map and press the stick to change its icon manually.
Besieged Ruins rewards
| Reward | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Zealot’s Stone | Granted after completing the Armed Knave helmet memory |
| Dorsalite x1 | Chest on the left side of the main room |
| Winterglass Gem x1 | Chest on the right, further into the room |
| Glimpse, Divinite | Breakable stone sarcophagi in the chamber |
With the Tarstone in hand, backtrack through the torchlit tunnel and take the lift up. You come out on the same lower ledge you arrived on, which means the jump pad is right there if you want to get back up to the courtyard quickly and carry on east through the Ruins of Mammon.
