The Blood of Dawnwalker: Enshrined Obsession Quest Walkthrough

The attic door stays locked, so the quest ends at a desk in the neighboring bedroom instead.

The attic door stays locked, so the quest ends at a desk in the neighboring bedroom instead.

Enshrined Obsession is one of the shorter detours in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it trips people up for a single reason: the objective tells you to search an attic that you cannot open. The quest is really a five-minute stop inside one house in Svartrau City, and it ends the moment you read three things off a desk.

Quick answer: Go to the Curious House in Svartrau City, ignore the locked attic door, enter the bedroom beside it, and inspect the desk. Examine the dried-up quill, the map of hidden shrines, and the journal, then walk out of the house to close the quest.

Curious House location in Svartrau City

The whole quest takes place at the Curious House, a marked point of interest inside Svartrau City. Open your map and look for the Curious House marker; it sits near a Food Vendor, which is a useful landmark if you are navigating on foot. The map description keeps it vague on purpose, calling it an unremarkable place that may still be hiding something.

Coen can walk in without a fight. There is no combat, no lock to pick at the front, and no time-of-day requirement, so you can handle this during the day or at night.

The attic objective is locked: What to do instead

The tracked objective reads “Investigate the attic using Focus Mode,” and the attic door in the Curious House will not open. There is no key to hunt down and no alternate entrance to climb to. The quest is designed so that the evidence you need is stored one room over.

Turn to the bedroom directly next to that locked door and go inside. A desk sits along the wall, and interacting with it switches Coen into the close-up investigation view where the three clues are laid out.

How to inspect the desk and finish Enshrined Obsession

Approach the desk in the bedroom and interact with it to enter the inspection view. Coen comments on the owner being a man of deep faith, which is your confirmation you are at the right piece of furniture.
Examine the quill and inkwell first. Coen notes that it has dried up and has not been touched in a long time, marking the first of the three clues.

Move to the maps spread across the desk. These chart the hidden shrines, and Coen copies their positions onto his own map as soon as he reads them.
Inspect the journal last. It is filled with drawings of the shrines and pages of calculations, and Coen wraps up by saying he has everything he needs to track them all down.

Back out of the inspection view and leave the Curious House. Stepping outside is what triggers the completion banner.

Enshrined Obsession rewards and what unlocks next

Reading all three clues pays out immediately, before you even leave the room. The Map of Wayside Shrines is the important one, since it is what puts the shrine locations on your own map for the follow-up quest.

You will know it worked by two on-screen prompts. A NEW QUEST banner announces “Destroyed Shrines: Hidden & Safe” while you are still inside, with the usual prompt to start tracking it. Then, once you exit the house, a QUEST ENDED banner appears for Enshrined Obsession.

Note: if the quest has not closed, the usual cause is skipping one of the three desk items. All three need to be examined, not just the map that Coen copies down.

From there the trail continues into Destroyed Shrines: Hidden & Safe, which sends you out to the shrine sites now pinned on your map. Time in The Blood of Dawnwalker is spent rather than passed, so a short stop like this one costs you very little on the way to a much longer chain.
