Four new Protocol Droids, bonus Nova Crystals past Rebirth 20, two fresh base paints, and several expanded map areas.

Four new Protocol Droids, bonus Nova Crystals past Rebirth 20, two fresh base paints, and several expanded map areas.

Version 1.30.0 of Star Wars Droid Tycoon reshapes two things players care about most: how credits multiply, and how Nova Crystals are paid out. The update adds a Protocol Droid class headlined by four new units, a Droid Station at the base, a reworked Super Rebirth crystal curve, and a handful of new spaces on the Tatooine map, including a TIE Fighter combat area.

Quick answer: Load into Droidsmith Outpost, open the Droidex to confirm SA-5, LOM, PZ and TDA now appear as Protocol Droids, then check the Super Rebirth menu — the crystal payout chart now runs to Rebirth 35 with bonus crystals granted past Rebirth 20.

Protocol Droids and their credit multipliers in v1.30.0

Protocol is now a droid category rather than a one-off. Four units were added across the rarity ladder, and each carries a flat credit multiplier that stacks with the rest of your workshop bonuses. C-3PO has been folded into the same class and now shows a “Protocol” bonus on its stat card in the Droidex.

SA-5Rare400%
LOMEpic600%
PZLegendary800%
TDAMythic1000%

A Protocol Droid Event is tied to the rollout, shown in-game on a countdown banner above the outpost. No official start date and time has been confirmed outside of that in-game timer, so treat the banner as the only reliable clock.

The new Droid Station at your base

A Droid Station has been added to the base layout and is marked by a green interaction ring, so it is hard to miss on your next spawn-in. When it first appears it is gated behind its own countdown rather than a rebirth requirement, and the surrounding structure has been redressed with new spikes and piping under the purple lighting.

You can confirm the station is live once the ring turns interactable and the countdown banner clears. Until then it sits in place as a locked prop.

Nova Crystal rewards now scale past Rebirth 20

The Super Rebirth payout has been rebalanced. Rebirthing past level 20 now grants bonus crystals on top of the base reward, and the in-game estimate chart has been extended to cover levels 20 through 35. In practice that means holding a run longer before resetting is worth noticeably more than it was, and the old ceiling at the low twenties no longer defines the best return.

Super Rebirth still unlocks at Rebirth 12, and the reward structure is unchanged in one important way. Crystals and everything you buy with them are permanent, as are your Droidex count and your flawless count, so a reset does not touch cosmetics you have already unlocked.

Note: daily quests still hand out a single Nova Crystal per day, and they cannot be stockpiled. If you only log in to clear the board, check it immediately rather than saving it for later in the week.

New map areas: cave, TIE Fighter arena, and the Sandcrawler yard

The Tatooine map has grown in three directions. A cave section sits behind a short parkour climb and contains Jawas, Rebel Alliance crates, and a Protocol Droid. Above it is a second, darker cave that is not finished — players who climb in can get stuck, so skip it until it opens properly.

The second addition is a combat space marked with red banners, holding TIE Fighters with health bars, Chug Splash pickups, and the Epic CR-2 Blaster. It is the clearest sign yet that the map is leaning further into event-style fights rather than pure idle production.

Third, the fishing and scrap delivery zone introduced during the C-3PO event has been rebuilt, and the ground behind the Sandcrawler now has a crane, banners, and Jawas occupying it. A ring marker has also appeared out in the desert, suggesting a challenge course is being prepared there.

World Missions revamp and the double multipliers

World Missions switch on with this update rather than arriving later. The developers have confirmed the activation comes paired with a double crafting speed multiplier and a double level pickaxe multiplier, which is the most direct throughput boost in the patch for anyone grinding toward a rebirth threshold.

You will know the system is live when World Mission objectives start tracking on your board and the multiplier values shown on your stat card reflect the doubled figures.

Two new base paints and how to unlock them

Both new paints are long-haul unlocks rather than shop purchases, and both sit alongside the existing set that includes Flawless, Beskar, Stellar, Fusion and the character paints.

PaintRequirement
Protocol PaintCollect 28 Protocol Droids
World Mission PaintComplete 500 World Missions

There is one visual bug worth knowing about. The new paint can bleed onto staircases that should not take it, leaving them rendered in the paint’s colour. It is cosmetic only and does not affect production rates or upgrades.

If you are returning after a break, the practical order is straightforward. Load the island from its official island page, check the Droidex for the four Protocol units, then open the Super Rebirth menu and compare the new crystal chart against your current rebirth level before deciding whether to reset now or push deeper into the twenties first.
