Jujutsu Zero Evolution Guide: All New Nodes and Materials

Level gates, quest steps, and the full material bill for unlocking Epitome, Paragon, Zenith, and Apotheosis.

Level gates, quest steps, and the full material bill for unlocking Epitome, Paragon, Zenith, and Apotheosis.

The evolution tree in Jujutsu Zero now stretches four nodes further than it used to. Epitome, Paragon, Zenith, and Apotheosis sit past the original branches, and each one is gated behind a level requirement, a dedicated quest, and a pile of materials that you cannot buy your way around. Two new NPCs, the Shadow God and the Light God, hand out every quest in the chain.

Quick answer: Unlock Epitome at Level 6,000, Paragon at 7,000, Zenith at 8,000, and Apotheosis at 10,000 via the Shadow God and Light God quests. Finishing all four costs 127.5M Yen in total.

Level requirements and quests for each node

Every node has a hard level gate and one quest attached to it. The quest reward is the unique material the node consumes, so there is no way to stockpile Shadow Weave or Soul Weave ahead of time.

Epitome6,000Shadow Incarnations1 Shadow Weave
Paragon7,000Divine Flame1 Divine Flame
Zenith8,000Detachment1 Soul Weave
Apotheosis10,000Apotheosis7 Divine Cores

The Shadow God handles the Lv. 6,000–8,000 quests, while the Light God covers the Lv. 7,000–10,000 range. If you are nowhere near those numbers yet, the tree still starts much earlier at the Evolution Trainer, whose first Evolve option opens at Level 1,000.

Shared materials to farm first

Epitome, Paragon, and Zenith all draw from the same pool of common costs, so it pays to bank these before you accept any quest.

  • Divine Shards
  • Enhance Scrolls
  • Cursed Crystals
  • Stat Points
  • Yen

Enhance Scrolls are the usual bottleneck. They come from Infinity Crates, which drop from the Infinity Raids, and they do not appear in Soul Crates. Because the full chain eats 22 of them, treat every crate run as scroll farming first and everything else second.

How to unlock each evolution node

Epitome (Level 6,000)

Talk to the Shadow God and take the Shadow Incarnations quest. You need to defeat seven shadow incarnations to complete it, and turning it in gives you a single Shadow Weave. Spend that Shadow Weave along with the shared materials to light up Epitome in the Evolve tab.

Paragon (Level 7,000)

Paragon runs off a collection quest rather than a fight. Complete it and you receive one Divine Flame, which is the unique unlock item for the node. Nothing else about the cost changes here, so if you cleared Epitome without restocking, you will likely be short on Divine Shards and Enhance Scrolls.

Zenith (Level 8,000)

Zenith is the expensive middle step. Its quest, Detachment, is a straight exchange: hand over a specific bundle of rare materials and you get one Soul Weave back. The quest prompt lists everything it wants before you confirm, so check your inventory against the list first.

The Detachment exchange asks for:

  • 15,000 Cursed Crystals
  • 5 Limitless Awakening Shards
  • 5 Divine Essences
  • 5 Star Awakening Shards
  • 5 Blood Awakening Shards
  • 10 Domain Fragments

Limitless Awakening Shards drop from the Awakened Gojo Raid on every difficulty. The rest of the pile comes from raid content and crates, so rotate through the Yuki, Choso, and Megumi game mode raids and open Chimera, Daily, Strength, Vessel, and Valuable crates while you grind. Domain Fragments in particular are a raid crate drop, and you will want spares for the base tree too.

The 15,000 Cursed Crystals for Detachment are separate from the crystals the nodes themselves cost, so do not spend your stock on skins or rolls while you are working through Zenith.

Apotheosis (Level 10,000)

The final node has its own quest, and it ends with a fight against the Light God. Clearing it rewards 7 Divine Cores, which is exactly enough for the node’s seven upgrade levels, one core each. There is no partial credit here, so the whole thing is locked until you can actually beat the boss at Level 10,000.

Apotheosis upgrade costs per level

Apotheosis is not a one-and-done purchase. It has seven levels, and every level charges the same bill, which is where most of the total Yen cost comes from.

How to confirm a node unlocked

Open the Stats menu and switch to the Evolve tab. A purchased node stops showing its material requirements and reads as owned, and its stat bonuses apply to your character immediately. For Apotheosis, the tab tracks your progress through the seven levels, so you can see at a glance how many Divine Cores you still have to spend.

Vow VI exchanges at the Shadow God and Light God

Both new NPCs double as vow upgraders. The rate is three Vow V items for one Vow VI, which covers Attack Vow VI, Sorcery Vow VI, Defense Vow VI, and the XP Vow +++ upgrade. It is a separate system from the evolution nodes, but it uses the same two NPCs, so it is worth clearing out spare vows while you are already standing there.

Plan the order around your level, not your inventory. Epitome and Paragon are the cheapest entry points, Zenith is where the raid grind really starts, and Apotheosis is a seven-step money sink that assumes you have already hit the cap. Bank Enhance Scrolls and Cursed Crystals early and the back half of the tree gets far less painful.
