Slayers 2 Final Selection Raid: How to Become a Slayer

Every quest stage, the Hand Demon’s damage immunity rule, and the rewards that confirm your Slayer rank.

Final Selection is the entrance exam of Slayers 2, and it is the only way to stop being an unaffiliated human and start being a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. It is a timed raid that drops you into a dark forest with a chain of NPC quests, a parkour dungeon, a horseback survival run, and a boss that ignores your damage if you fight it wrong.

Quick answer: Wait at the twin guide NPCs for the two-hour timer to hit zero, finish every NPC quest in order, then clear the Hand Demon’s minions before the boss to unlock the Slayer title and Mizunoto rank.

How to enter the Final Selection raid in Slayers 2

The raid runs on a fixed loop and opens once every two hours. You do not queue for it manually. Instead, you stand in the waiting area in front of the twin guide NPCs and let the countdown run down, at which point the game teleports everyone in the lobby to the raid map automatically.

Bring a partner if you can. Every combat objective scales better with two people, and having a second player pulling aggro makes the boss far less punishing. Area-of-effect breathing skills matter more than single-target damage here because most of the early quests ask you to clear packs of demons quickly.

Final Selection quest order and objectives

The run is linear. Each NPC points you at the next one, and red exclamation markers with a distance readout in meters show you where to go, so you rarely need to guess a direction.

Talk to Steve before you engage the Hand Demon. His quest is what makes the boss chest lootable, and skipping the conversation costs you the best drops in the raid.

Forest quests: Rem, Vael, Klien, and Rika

Rem’s lost fruit

You spawn in the dark forest and the first marker sends you to Rem, who has scattered three pieces of fruit nearby. You need the Apple, Banana, and Grapes, and Rogue Demons patrol the same patch of woods, so expect to fight while you search. Sweep the area with a wide attack, grab all three pickups, then hand them back to her.

Vael and the Lesser Demons

Vael is the next marker, and his request is a straight kill count of five Lesser Demons in the surrounding woods. They tend to bunch up, which makes this the fastest stage of the run if you have a crowd-control skill. Return to Vael once the counter fills to close the quest.

Klien’s katana and the bandage minigame

Klien has misplaced his Nichirin Katana somewhere around the cliffs. Find the sword, bring it back, and he then needs patching up. Healing him is a quick-time event, so watch the prompt and hit the input on cue rather than mashing.

You need bandages for that, which is where the merchant Rika comes in. She sells them for 25 Wen each, and they double as your self-heal later in the run. Buy more than you think you need before you move on, because the second half of the raid has no shop.

The Lost Slayer, the Submerged Key, and the Lost Chest

Mizuto sends you across the water to deal with a mini-boss called The Lost Slayer. Dive into the lake, swim down, and look for the cave mouth below the surface. The fight happens inside the flooded cave, and killing the boss drops the Submerged Key.

That key opens the Lost Chest in the same area. There is no other way in, so you cannot skip the fight and loot the chest. The payout includes the mythic Lost Lantern alongside crafting materials, which makes this the one genuinely optional-feeling detour worth doing every single run.

The cave entrance sits below the surface of the lake, and the Submerged Key only drops after the boss dies.

Parkour Dungeon: levers, spikes, and the exit portal

The Parkour Dungeon is the section most runs die on, and it has nothing to do with combat. The course mixes spike traps with moving platforms, and progress is gated behind red levers that must be flipped to green before the next gate opens. Miss a jump and you land in the spikes.

Work the course one lever at a time instead of trying to chain jumps at speed. Once every gate on the route is open, the exit portal at the end of the dungeon becomes reachable and takes you back out to the next quest giver.

Mountain Survival checkpoints and Levi’s civilian rescue

Lavato starts the Mountain Survival stage, a timed checkpoint run across foggy terrain. You ride a horse and need to touch four blue flag checkpoints before the timer expires. Visibility is poor, so follow the objective markers rather than trying to read the landscape.

Levi comes next and layers two objectives together. You clear the demons guarding a zone, hold that zone until it is captured, then pick up three civilians and carry them back to him. Using the horse for the return trip saves a large amount of time, since each civilian has to be delivered individually.

Hand Demon boss fight: kill the minions first

Steve is the last NPC before the boss, and he points you at the Hand Demon waiting just ahead. The fight has one rule that decides whether you win or waste ten minutes swinging at nothing.

The Hand Demon is immune to all incoming damage while its spawned minion demons are alive. Clear the adds first, then burn the boss during the window before the next wave arrives.

Beyond that, the fight is about movement. The boss puts down poison clouds and heavy ground slams, both of which telegraph long enough to walk out of. Keep your distance while minions are up, close in only when the boss is vulnerable, and use the bandages you bought from Rika between slams rather than waiting until you are nearly dead. The Hand Demon’s health also scales with how many players are in the raid, so a fuller lobby means a longer fight, not an easier one.

Final Selection rewards and how to confirm you are a Slayer

Killing the Hand Demon opens the reward chests at the end of the raid. After looting, walk back to the twin guide NPCs to formally register, which is the step that actually converts the clear into Slayer status.

RewardWhere it comes from
Lost Lantern (mythic)Lost Chest, submerged cave
Black Kumo Slayers UniformBoss reward chests
Healing Gem NecklaceBoss reward chests
Silk Thread, Refinement Ore, Metal ScrapsBoss reward chests
Slayer Uniform and Kasugai CrowTwin guide NPCs after the clear

You know it worked when three things happen in sequence. A “Title unlocked: Slayer” notification appears, the guides hand over the official Slayer Uniform, and your rank is registered as Mizunoto, the lowest rung of the Corps ladder. You also receive a Kasugai Crow, which feeds you quests and lets you message other Slayers regardless of how far apart you are on the map.

From there, the raid is behind you and the ranking system is in front of you. Mizunoto is the starting point, the crow becomes your main source of work, and the mythic drops you pulled out of the Lost Chest and the boss chests are what carry you into the next stretch of content.
