Kiaraa: BGMI’s First India-Made Character Arrives October 8

KRAFTON India's in-house team built the character with her own Erangel location, a boss fight, and a Diwali cosmetic lineup.

KRAFTON India’s in-house team built the character with her own Erangel location, a boss fight, and a Diwali cosmetic lineup.

Kiaraa is a new character coming to Battlegrounds Mobile India, and she carries a distinction no earlier addition has: she was designed entirely in India by KRAFTON India’s in-house art team. Rather than a standalone skin dropped into a spin, she arrives with an origin story, her own point of interest on Erangel, and a boss encounter built around her.

Quick answer: Kiaraa launches on October 8, 2026 as part of the BGMI 4.6 update, bringing a new Erangel location called the Bazaar, a summonable boss fight, and the Kiaraa Nakshatra cosmetic collection.

When Kiaraa arrives and what makes her a first

Kiaraa becomes available from October 8, 2026, riding in with the version 4.6 update. She is the first original character intellectual property created domestically for the game, and she is built exclusively for the Indian player base.

For most of the past five years, the game’s characters and skins came from licensed global franchises or celebrity likenesses. KRAFTON India shifted that approach with Anamika in 2025, and Kiaraa extends it. She is the first India-designed character to ship with a full origin story, a dedicated map location, and a complete thematic collection all at once.

Kiaraa’s origin story on Erangel

Kiaraa’s presence on the island is tied to local myth. The legends describe her as appearing during stretches marked by greed, betrayal, and cowardice among the fighters. She is not framed as someone trying to take control of the battleground. Instead, she arrives as an arbiter who judges the players fighting on Erangel.

The peacock is her signature motif, and it runs through her outfit, glider, vehicle, and the lamps used to summon her.

The Bazaar: a new Diwali-themed Erangel location

Kiaraa’s arrival adds the Bazaar, a festive point of interest on Erangel. It is the second India-themed environment in the game, following the Stepwell added in 2025. The Bazaar is dressed in Diwali decorations and laid out as a dense urban zone where close-quarters ambushes are common.

How to summon Kiaraa in the boss fight

The Bazaar doubles as the arena for Kiaraa’s Test, a cooperative boss encounter. You start it by landing in the central courtyard and finding the trigger points.

Drop into the central courtyard of the Bazaar on Erangel.
Locate the four blue indicators and activate the four corresponding peacock-shaped lamps.
Once all four are lit, a color-lit dome forms a designated Boss Fight Zone. Any squad that enters the zone faces Kiaraa.

Kiaraa fights with bow-based attacks and area-of-effect arrow barrages. Squads that defeat her are rewarded with high-tier in-game loot.

Kiaraa Nakshatra Collection rewards

The launch is paired with the Kiaraa Nakshatra Spin, a themed cosmetic lineup obtained by spending in-game currency at the lucky draw. The set shares one design language built around the peacock motif.

Diwali Prize Path and festive events

Alongside Kiaraa, KRAFTON India is launching the Diwali Prize Path, the game’s first seasonal progression track built specifically for the Indian market. It runs from October 22 through November 15 and features 20 reward tiers.

The headline rewards on that track include the Revel 01 Set and the Diwali Gold Set.

Taken together, the character, the Bazaar, the boss fight, and the seasonal track make Kiaraa less a single cosmetic and more a full India-specific content drop timed to Diwali, with KRAFTON India signaling that more homegrown creations are planned for the season.
