PAYDAY 2 has a brand-new heist for the first time in years. Under the Hammer drops the crew into the Pallasindro Dimora, a fading California auction house, on the trail of a clue that points to a long-lost fortune. It is the first playable heist added to the 2013 co-op shooter since 2023, and it arrives with a paid content pack plus a free-to-everyone reward.
Quick answer: The Under the Hammer Heist Pack is available now on PC for $4.99 / £3.99 through Steam and the Epic Games Store, and it includes the heist, a shotgun, a melee weapon, and two masks.

What the Under the Hammer heist is
The job is set “long before the events of the White House heist,” and it brings back handler Bain as your employer. The Pallasindro Dimora is well past its prime but still glamorous and well guarded, and it holds the collection of a master thief from the late 1960s.
Most of the pieces on the auction floor are described as unremarkable. The one that matters hides a clue the old con artist left behind for his family, pointing to loot he stashed away. As Bain puts it, the item you want is hidden inside an art piece, one of four locked inside a vault.

| Item | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Under the Hammer | Heist | The auction house job |
| Karussell | Revolving shotgun | High-power cylinder-fed system |
| Last Call | Melee weapon | Oversized gavel |
| Comedy and Tragedy | Masks | Classic theatrical designs |
| Vintage Sight | Weapon mod | Free, earned via achievement |
The Karussell is the standout, using a rotating cylinder feed to fire high-damage rounds quickly. The Last Call melee weapon leans into the auction theme as a comically oversized gavel, while the Comedy and Tragedy masks come as a pair.
The Vintage Sight weapon mod is free for everyone who completes the “BFD Junior” achievement, whether or not you own the DLC.

Where to buy it
The pack is a PC release from developer Sidetrack Games, which took over PAYDAY 2 from Starbreeze in late 2025. You can pick it up on the Steam store page or on the Epic Games Store, both priced at $4.99 / £3.99.

Update 248 changes released alongside the heist
The content drop landed with update 248, which makes small audio fixes and a handful of balance changes. The most notable tweak raises the Arbiter Grenade Launcher’s fragmentation ammo damage from 480 to 500, enough for it to one-shot light SWAT with a direct hit.
The heist follows PAYDAY 2’s move to a new engine, which cut the install size, improved performance, and reduced crashes. With Under the Hammer now live, the 13-year-old shooter is once again handing its crew new criminal work rather than winding down.
