Witch’s Staff is a Vanguard-tier Familiar in Anime Vanguards that arrived with the Wrath’s End update on September 12, 2026. It is bound to a single unit, Medea (Witch of Betrayal), and it is not a random event drop. You buy it outright from the Wrath Event Shop and then attach it through the Familiar menu.
Quick answer: Spend 1,000 Wrath Coins at the Wrath Event Shop, then equip Witch’s Staff on Medea (Witch of Betrayal) through Units → Familiars → Equip.

How to get Witch’s Staff in Anime Vanguards
The staff sits in the Wrath Event Shop for a flat price. You reach that shop through the center-lobby NPC and pay with Wrath Coins earned by clearing the event stage.

Wrath Coin cost and run math
The price is fixed at 1,000 Wrath Coins. Starting from zero, that works out to 10 full Normal clears or 5 full Hard clears. The figures below cover base payouts for complete 15-wave runs and do not include bonuses or partial-run rewards.
| Difficulty | Coins per clear | Clears needed |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 100 | 10 |
| Hard | 200 | 5 |

Buying the item does not apply it to a unit. You have to attach it manually, and it will only accept Medea (Witch of Betrayal) as the target.
You know it worked when the panel shows the familiar on Medea, the control switches to Unequip, or the familiar passives appear on her unit card. Because Witch’s Staff is unit-bound, no other unit will be accepted. If Medea is not selectable, make sure you highlighted Witch’s Staff inside the Familiar panel rather than a general unit screen.

What Witch’s Staff does for Medea
The staff layers a large flat damage boost with two placement-based abilities and a team-wide upgrade discount. Several effects only fire once Medea is on the field, so place her after equipping to see them work.
Witch of Colchis and Teeth of the Dragon
Witch of Colchis gives Medea +3,000% damage. Teeth of the Dragon grants Dragon Fang Army when she is placed, summoning a fixed group at a chosen point on the track. If a summon is killed by the enemy it is attacking, that enemy takes Rupture.
| Summon | Count | Damage vs Medea |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | 2 | 60% |
| Archer | 2 | 40% |
| Beast | 1 | 200% |
Sokora upgrade discount
While a Sokora is placed, every Crimson Moon unit at or below the highest Sokora upgrade level costs 70% less to upgrade, Sokora included. The highest placed Sokora upgrade level sets the ceiling for which Crimson Moon units qualify. A unit receiving this discount cannot have its upgrade cost cut by another source at the same time.

Broken Oath and Oathbreaker
Broken Oath buffs Curse and Holy units by 40% damage. When Medea is placed, Oathbreaker makes her damage count as ability damage and strikes a selected area for 10% of the current damage of every Crimson Moon unit on the field. Each unit is counted once, no matter how many copies you have placed. If that hit lands on an enemy affected by Nullified, it triggers a second attack.
Familiar tooltips can change with later balance updates, so check the passive text in your game if a value differs from what is listed here.
Once the staff is attached, the Medea familiar or passives panel is the fastest confirmation. Drop her into a stage or Sandbox to see Dragon Fang Army and Oathbreaker in action before you count on them in a hard run.
