The Land of Dancing Illusions is the eleventh main story quest in Aniimo, and it is short — most of the runtime is cutscenes. The only thing that can actually stop you is the entrance to Lumenfly Valley, which is sealed behind a blue barrier and filled with a sleeping effect that your normal character cannot walk through.

Quick answer: Light the incense at the valley entrance to drop the barrier, then twine with a Flutternym-family Aniimo and fly the glowing path until the cutscenes end and Sunia’s marker appears.

Unlock requirement and where the quest starts

The quest becomes available the moment you finish the previous main story step, Fragrant Colors. There is no separate trigger to pick up — the objective appears in your quest log on its own.

Your starting objective is “Light the incense and open the barrier to Lumenfly Valley.” Open the map and track the target: the marker sits in the Sea of Flowers, in the Breezy Plains region, at the glowing valley entrance. A blue trail on the ground runs toward it if you lose the marker.

Bring a Flutternym before you enter the valley

Inside the valley, illusions put anything on foot to sleep. Twining with an Aniimo from the Flutternym family turns you into a butterfly that is immune to it, which is the only way to get through. If you skipped catching one during Chasing the Clouds, grab one now — the quest cannot progress without it.

Flutternym is a Wind-element Aniimo with the HEAL role, listed as number 28 in the Aniilog. It stands 0.5 m tall and weighs 6 kg, and it evolves into Gracewing once it reaches level 21, which also costs Gust Stone x1. Level does not matter for this quest — there is no combat inside the valley, so a low-level Flutternym is fine.

Flutternym spawn areas

Nimbus Fields5–15
Sea of Flowers19–28
The Mistwoods35–37
Blitzwood40–45

The Sea of Flowers population is the convenient one, since you are already standing in that zone for the quest. Flutternyms are timid and hide when they sense danger, but the fluorescent scales they shake off mark their position anyway. They also use Luminous Prowl, a skill on a 15-second cooldown that hides them in pink mist, so wait out the cloak or startle them if one vanishes mid-catch.

The Land of Dancing Illusions walkthrough

Walk up to the incense burner in front of the blue barrier and interact with it to light the incense. The prompt is F on keyboard. A cutscene plays as the purple smoke dissolves the barrier, and Nicole, Sunia, and Helion discuss the voice coming from inside.

Head into the valley path until the illusion warning stops you. Open the Aniimo management screen (P on keyboard) and move a Flutternym into an active party slot so it is ready to twine with.
Twine with the Flutternym. Your character transforms into a glowing butterfly, and the sleeping effect no longer applies. Fly forward along the lit cavern instead of trying to walk it.
Follow the blue butterfly lights deeper into the cave, passing the disembodied voices along the walls. Two story scenes fire on the way — an Iris dissolving into petals, then the scene covering Sunia’s faded colors, her childhood colorblindness, and her bond with Snowy.

Sit through the encounter with Queen Somniwing, also called Velouria. She reveals that Snowy gave up her own colors so Sunia could see, and grants Sunia’s plea to return them inside a dream — which is when Sunia disappears.
Control returns with the objective “Bring Sunia back.” Keep flying deeper toward the giant flower at the end of the path. A final cutscene of Velouria flying off plays, and the quest closes out there.

Every cutscene in this stretch is skippable if you only want the clear — but the Snowy reveal is the setup for the entire next quest.

How to confirm the quest is complete

Completion is unambiguous. After the shot of Velouria flying away, the quest summary screen for The Land of Dancing Illusions appears with the reward list, and the log entry drops out of your active objectives.

The next main story quest, The Land where Dreams Come True, then starts on its own with the objective “Talk to Snowy.” If that objective is on your screen, the previous quest registered correctly.

What the follow-up quest asks for

Stay in butterfly form. Speaking to Snowy starts the dream sequence, and from there you touch strange blossoms that each split into three Butterfly Shadows you have to fly through. Following the Flutternym shadows along the glowing current takes you up to the next blossom, and the pattern repeats as you climb. Activate the Bloom you pass on the way up for a fast travel point.

The route ends at Somniwing’s throne, where a Level 30 Velouria fight begins on a circular petal platform. She spends the fight ascending to throw out storm scales and tracking tornadoes, so bring a team that can break her shields while keeping steady damage on her between dodges.

Beating her does not end things immediately — the party returns to the waking world and talks outside Lumenfly Valley before the completion screen shows up, paying out 1,200 Safaris, 40,000 Credits, 8,000 Aniimo EXP, 10 Growth Fruit, 10 Aniipod Mega, and 2 Irisalis Petals. Ancient Sacred Fragrance picks up from there, and it gates on Elite Training Chapter 2, so start clearing those tasks once the dust settles.
