Fisch: How to Complete Requiem Rod Mastery and Unlock Ethereal Requiem

The three mastery objectives, what each one rewards, and the exact catches that count toward them.

The three mastery objectives, what each one rewards, and the exact catches that count toward them.

Requiem is a Stage 10 fishing rod in Fisch, and since the Skycrest update landed on September 5, 2026, it carries a three-quest mastery line. Finish all three and you walk away with the Ethereal Requiem skin, The Requiem title, and two permanent enhancements tied to the rod’s Husk mechanics.

Quick answer: Craft Requiem at the Ancient Archives anvil, then perfect catch every Tidefall hunt fish with the Husk mutation, land one Requies apex hunt fish, and catch 250 Husk fish with the rod.

Requiem rod crafting requirements in Fisch

Mastery does not open until the rod is in your hands. Requiem is crafted at the anvil inside the Ancient Archives, and the mastery line itself has a starting level requirement of 1000, which matches the rod’s own level gate.

The Requiem Core comes from the Magical Diver in the Sunken Reliquary, who runs a three-part questline: bring a Fallen Flying Gurnard, then an Omnithal, then an Awakened Omnithal. Because the final craft also consumes an Awakened Omnithal, plan for two of them.

Using a Glitch Potion on the Awakened Omnithal during the questline duplicates it, which covers both the quest hand-in and the crafting material in one catch.

Why the Requiem rod’s passive drives the whole mastery

Every objective in the line leans on one mechanic. Requiem has a 20% chance to apply the Husk mutation to anything you hook. When a Husk fish is caught, the rod’s Arcane Finality effect fires: the original fish’s final weight drops to 0.4x, and you are handed a duplicate carrying the Requies mutation at 1.6x final weight.

That single passive feeds two of the three quests at once. Husk catches build the 250-fish counter, and the Requies duplicates are how you produce the mutated apex fish the second quest asks for. You are not chasing three separate grinds so much as one grind that pays out in three directions.

This rod changes how the reeling minigame works: beginning and finishing an input with the fish on the bar adds +5% progress. For Progress Locked Fish at or below -50% forced progress speed, that bonus becomes +2%, and the rod increases the click threshold as well.

A release immediately after holding input will snap the reel. Use measured taps with space between them instead.

Completing all three unlocks Ethereal Requiem as the Grand Reward, a skin exclusive to this mastery line.

Requiem of the Hunt: Perfect catch every Tidefall hunt with Husk

This is the slowest objective because it is gated by hunt timing, not by luck alone. You need a Perfect Catch with the Husk mutation on each Tidefall hunt fish, and the hunts only appear on their own rotation.

  • Plesiosaur and Ancestral Pliosaur
  • Pliosaur
  • Goldwraith and Ancient Goldwraith
  • Reef Titan and Colossus Reef Titan
  • Omnithal and Awakened Omnithal

Each entry has to be landed during its own hunt window, with the Husk mutation applied and the catch registered as perfect. A Husk catch that is not a Perfect Catch does not tick the box. Finishing the whole set grants a permanent +5% Husk chance, which makes the remaining quest faster.

Requies of the Hunt: Land one Requies apex fish

You only need a single catch here, and it has to be one of four Secret-tier fish carrying the Requies mutation: Colossus Reef Titan, Awakened Omnithal, Ancestral Pliosaur, or Ancient Goldwraith. The Requiem rod must be equipped for the catch to count.

In practice you are not fishing for Requies directly. Hook one of those four with the Husk mutation, and Arcane Finality produces the Requies duplicate for you. That makes this quest a byproduct of the first one, and there is a reasonable chance it completes itself while you are still working through the hunt list. The reward is The Requiem title.

Requiem of the Husk: Catch 250 Husk fish

The volume quest. Any fish counts as long as it carries the Husk mutation and you caught it with Requiem equipped. At the base 20% rate that works out to roughly 1,250 casts, and less once the +5% Husk enhancement from the first quest is active.

With no species restriction to worry about, fish in an area with a high catch rate instead of targeting rare spawns. The payoff is +0.5% click progress for Progress Locked Fish, directly countering Requiem’s higher click threshold for those fish.

Start Requiem of the Hunt first and work it around the hunt schedule. Hunts are the only gated part of the line, so anything you can chip away at during an active hunt window should take priority over the grind quests.
Watch your inventory for Requies duplicates whenever you Husk-catch one of the four apex fish. Requies of the Hunt closes the moment one of those duplicates appears, so check after each apex catch rather than treating it as a separate task.
Grind Requiem of the Husk in the gaps between hunts. Any fish with the Husk mutation counts, so use downtime in high-traffic spots instead of waiting idle for the next hunt to spawn.
Claim the first quest’s +5% Husk chance as soon as it unlocks, before finishing the 250-fish counter. The higher mutation rate shortens whatever portion of the Husk grind you have left.

How to confirm Requiem mastery is complete

Open the Fishing Rods Mastery interface and select Requiem. Each of the three quests displays its own progress, including the running count on the 250 Husk catches, and the Bestiary entries under Requiem of the Hunt show which hunt fish you still owe a Husk Perfect Catch.

The Requiem title becomes selectable once the Requies catch registers. When all three objectives read as complete, the Grand Reward unlocks and Ethereal Requiem appears in the rod’s skin list alongside the purchasable and code-based options. Equipping it is the clearest sign the line is finished.
