Helgon is the armored Wind flier that patrols the cliffs of Russet Highlands, and it is one of the better Break units you can pick up in the mid-40s level band. There are two ways to add No. 66A to your Aniilog, and they suit very different players: catch one in the wild, or raise a Jawling line long enough to evolve it yourself.

Quick answer: Weaken and catch a wild Helgon in Russet Highlands (Lv. 46–51), or evolve a Lv. 48 Helmwhelp after opening 30 world chests.

Helgon location: Russet Highlands spawn points

Helgon appears in exactly one region. Russet Highlands, part of the wider Breezy Plains area, is where the whole Helmut family lives, and the local level band sits at Lv. 46–51. Open the world map and filter for Helgon before you set out — the marker clusters into a handful of spawn points spread across the rocky ridges, and there are nine in total across the region.

The most reliable single target is the scripted one tied to the field objective “Help the Aniimo: Defeat the Helgon carrying Helmut in its mouth.” That Helgon circles above a rocky outcrop near coordinates -0463, 1749, on the Russet Highlands side closest to Breezy Plains. It is a guaranteed encounter rather than a roaming spawn, which makes it the cleanest first catch.

How to catch Helgon in the wild

Helgon cannot be captured at full health. You have to knock it down first, and even then the base capture chance sits at 6 percent once it is defeated, so bring more Anipods than you think you need. Higher-tier pods push the displayed rate up considerably.

Stock up on Anipods before you climb. Loose Anipod pickups sit on the hillside path leading to the encounter, and grabbing them on the way up costs you nothing.
Sprint up the rocky incline until the Helgon is overhead. It stays airborne and drifts in a loose circuit while carrying a Helmut in its mouth, so track it visually rather than waiting for it to land.

Switch to your human character, ready the Anipod launcher and aim up at the Helgon. Throws connect mid-air, and hitting it from behind gives you the best angle since it is a wide, slow-turning target.
Keep throwing. A failed catch does not end the encounter — the Helgon simply breaks free and resumes flying, and stepping up from Anipod Pro to Anipod Mega is the single fastest way to close it out.

Wind resists Wind, so hammering Helgon with your own Wind team is slow. Light and Lightning both hit it for 1.6x damage.

Quest completion and Helmut’s Gift of Thanks rewards

A successful catch or defeat triggers a black transition screen reading “The cursed Helgon has been defeated, and the Helmuts have come looking…” followed by a short cutscene with the freed Helmuts. That text is your confirmation that the objective registered — if it does not appear, the encounter is still active.

Afterwards, a chest labeled Helmut’s Gift of Thanks spawns beside the tree at the encounter site. Open it before you leave.

The Helgon Aniilog card unlocks at the same moment, and the caught unit lands in your box at whatever level the wild spawn was — Lv. 49 is common in that pocket of the map.

How to evolve Helmwhelp into Helgon

The second route runs through the Jawling line. A Jawling evolves into Helmwhelp at Lv. 38, and Helmwhelp becomes Helgon at Lv. 48. The catch is that the Nova-stage evolution stays locked until you have opened 30 chests in the world cumulatively, which is an account-wide counter rather than anything region-specific.

Helmwhelp

  • Unlock condition: open 30 chests across the world in total.
  • Level requirement: Helmwhelp at Lv. 48.
  • Material: Gust Stone.
  • Result: Helgon, No. 66A, the final form of the line.

Mountain Helmwhelp follows the identical path and produces Mountain Helgon (No. 66B) instead, so if you specifically want the gold-eyed variant, start from a mountain-dwelling Helmwhelp. Both forms also spawn in Russet Highlands, which means you can skip the evolution entirely if you would rather catch one.

Helgon stats, skills and Homeland jobs

Helgon is a Nova stage, Wind element Aniimo in the Break role, and its 543 base stat total is high for the point in the game where you get it.

Break is the reason to run it. The Counter Strike trait raises BREAK efficiency by 25 percent for 10 seconds after Helgon takes a hit, which pairs directly with its defensive kit rather than fighting it.

Wind Tackle4515
Overcharged Claw Strike6820
Wind Counter6920
Skyfall (ultimate)175

Wind Counter is the standout. It drops Helgon into a defensive stance for 30 percent damage reduction and an immediate counterattack, and if something connects at the exact moment you cast it, you get an extra 20 percent BREAK efficiency for 10 seconds plus a 1.5-second stun. Wind Tackle knocks back small targets and adds 15 percent damage reduction, while Overcharged Claw Strike is the cheap filler on a one-second cooldown.

Outside combat, Helgon carries Fly Lv. 2 for pathfinding and grants the Bilateral movement mode when you Twine into it, which shifts your camera to its own wide field of view. In the Homeland it works two jobs, Carry at Lv. 3 and Wind at Lv. 3, so it is worth keeping around even after it stops seeing battle time.
