Moon Studios has given the first look at the rebuilt Class System coming to No Rest for the Wicked, showing off the class selection screen and the faction groupings that organize it. The reveal arrived alongside an apology for the 1.0 delay, and it comes with hard numbers rather than vague promises.

Quick answer: The new Class System has 24 classes, 280+ class traits, 6 trait slots, and 6 factions. All 24 classes are playable in the Open Beta in December.

Class system numbers: 24 classes, 280+ traits, 6 trait slots

The scope of the rework is the headline here. Moon Studios framed it as a transformative change to how the game is played, not a menu of stat bonuses bolted onto the existing build system.

  • 24 classes, all playable during the Open Beta
  • 280+ class traits to unlock across those classes
  • 6 trait slots equipped at any one time
  • 6 factions that group the classes in the UI

The video shared with the announcement is a straight walkthrough of the class selection panel, cycling through class cards, their descriptions, and the weapon bindings attached to each one.

The six factions in the class selection screen

Classes are not presented as a flat list. They sit under six faction headers that run across the top of the interface, and each faction collects classes that share a rough identity.

  • House of the Born God
  • The Hunter’s Guild
  • The Sacrament Guard
  • Scuttlers
  • The Severed Hand
  • Unspoken

Eleven of the 24 classes appeared on screen with their descriptions visible. Several were shown without their faction header in frame.

Cleric and weapon bindings

The Cleric sits under House of the Born God and is the clearest example of how weapons tie into a class. Its card lists bindings including the Cleric’s Mace and Radiant Star, so picking the class also tells you which weapon family you will be leaning on.

Marauder and the aggressive melee classes

The Marauder favors close-quarters combo chains, meeting opponents head-on with hefty, uncomplicated axe swings. Its nearest counterparts are the Berserker, who converts damage taken into health that can be recovered and enters a rage state, and the Warlord, who builds bleed toward bloodlust and restores health from the blood blobs enemies leave behind.

Wraith, Rogue, and The Severed Hand

The Wraith is described as a swift shinobi that uses ninjutsu illusions and fast slashes, and it shares The Severed Hand banner with the Rogue. The Rogue takes a different route to the same speed, leaning on high stamina, dual wielding, and hit-and-run pressure.

How class traits and weapons fit together

Each weapon archetype maps to a class. Using that weapon earns points, and those points unlock traits, with up to six equipped at once and freely swapped between them. Traits are meant to change how a class actually plays rather than nudge a number up or down, and mastering a weapon is what lets you extract its runes.

The rework also removes the old attribute requirements on weapons, which is what makes moving between classes practical instead of a long respec project. Classes additionally have supers tied to a charge bar, with at least one existing rune, Armageddon, converted into one. Because so much underlying balance and weapon design changes with it, the update carries a save wipe.

Class details are still in development and can change before release. The full breakdown is being saved for the Wicked Inside showcase.

When you can play the new classes

Moon Studios has a Wicked Inside showcase planned for October with a full deep dive into the Class System, though no specific date has been confirmed yet. The Open Beta in December is the point where all 24 classes become playable, and it follows the same pattern as the co-op beta that preceded the Together update.

The 1.0 launch itself moved from October 2026 to March 2027. The studio said its most recent playtest left it confident in the game but clear that it needed more polish, and pointed to the extra time as the reason it can now share progress more regularly. This class reveal is the first of those updates.
