Wings are the whole point of AION 2, and the game hands them over early rather than saving them for endgame. The unlock happens during the opening run of quests in Poeta, and once it lands, flight becomes a normal part of moving around the world instead of a zone-locked bonus.
Quick answer: Play the Poeta tutorial until roughly the fifth quest, “Ex. 11 Search Preparations…”, in Damina Forest. After that, press V to deploy your wings and hold Shift to fly faster.
Unlock flight in Poeta: the tutorial quest requirement
There is no separate trainer to visit and nothing to buy. Flight is granted by story progress, so the only requirement is to keep following the quest chain you are given at the start of the game in the Poeta region.
The unlock arrives around the fifth quest in that chain, listed on the HUD as “Ex. 11 Search Preparations…”. The objective sits in Damina Forest, and the quest marker on the mini-map and compass will point you straight at it, so there is no hunting involved.
You will know it worked without being told: a flight icon appears in the HUD bar at the bottom of the screen, and pressing the key assigned to it makes your character deploy wings on the spot. If the icon is missing, you have not reached the right quest yet.

Endurance meter: how long you can stay airborne
Flight is limited by endurance, shown as a circular meter next to your character while you are in the air. It drains steadily the whole time your wings are out, and sprinting burns through it faster than cruising does.
If the meter empties completely, your character falls. Watch it on approach to anything high, and start descending before it bottoms out rather than after.
Recovery is automatic. Once you are back on solid ground, the meter refills on its own, and you can track the progress on the flight icon in the bottom HUD bar rather than guessing. Long trips are easiest as a series of hops: fly, touch down, let the gauge climb, take off again.
Wings menu: skins and stat bonuses
Use the main menu’s Wings icon to enter the wing screen. Every pair you own appears there, and changing pairs affects both your appearance in the air and a set of character stats, so wings are not merely cosmetic.
Stat bonuses wings can carry
Each set lists its own combination of bonuses, drawn from a shared pool. Flight Power is the one tied directly to how you handle in the air; the rest feed into normal combat performance.

Wing sets you can collect
Wings come from progression and from in-game purchases, and the collection spans plain starter feathers through to more ornate sets. Names that show up in the Wings screen include:
- Lesser Daeva Wings, Intermediate Daeva Wings, Superior Daeva Wings and Ultimate Daeva Wings
- Auflaen Wings, Odyle Wings and Seeling Wings
- Violet Butterfly Wings, Fairy’s Dream Wings and Blue Wave Wings
- Conqueror Wings, Warrior Wings, Spirit Wings and Glorious Wings
- Black Fragment Wings
Appearance and function are handled separately, so a wing skin you like the look of does not have to cost you the bonuses you are actually running.
Where flight works after the unlock
Outside of the tutorial area, wings stay available across most open outdoor zones rather than being restricted to a handful of designated flight areas. Interiors and dungeons are the usual exception, and some objectives are placed high enough that flying up is the intended route rather than a shortcut.
The practical habit to build early is simple: treat endurance as your travel budget. Take off with a full meter, sprint only when you need the speed, and touch down before the gauge runs out so the refill happens on your terms instead of at the bottom of a cliff.
