Emberpup is the first creature in the Aniilog, and Nimbus Fields in Breezy Plains is the earliest place you can walk up to one. The Fire pups travel in loose packs, usually trailing a Flameruff, which means a single lap of the right paths can register two Aniilog entries at once.
Quick answer: Emberpup spawns across Nimbus Fields in Breezy Plains, with reliable packs at -1420, 0833 and -1155, 0783. Throw an Anipod from behind for the x1.5 Backstab bonus.
Emberpup spawn coordinates in Nimbus Fields
Nimbus Fields is a wide, open grassland, so the pups are easy to spot from a mount once you know which stretch of ground to sweep. The western side and the middle of the map hold the densest clusters.
| Spot | Coordinates | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Western field | -1420, 0833 | Pack in purple flowers by a lone tree |
| Central grassland | -1155, 0783 | Pups trailing a Flameruff |
| Hillside path | -1186, 0861 | Roadside group on the sloped dirt track |
Follow the dirt path north to find a second pack beside a fire source. A normal group contains one Flameruff and several Emberpups. Flameruff can also be found at about -1221, 0820, at the crossroads near the map’s center, with another roaming near -1150, 0778. Because packs respawn, check the other marker and return if one location is vacant instead of waiting there.
Levels inside a pack are not uniform. You will often see weaker pups mixed in with stronger family members, so check the level over the creature’s head before committing an Anipod.
After catching one, open its entry and choose Habitats. Yellow squares appear on the map at every known spawn for that species, letting you locate them more quickly than searching the grass visually.

Confirm the catch registered in your Aniilog
A successful throw shows a capture success prompt and adds the Emberpup straight to your collection. To be sure it stuck, open the Aniimo menu, where the new pup appears alongside your battle party. The Aniilog entry for No. 001 Emberpup fills in at the same time, and its alternate forms stay as separate, still-empty records.

Emberpup element, role, trait, and skills
Emberpup is a Lumin stage Fire creature in the DPS role, and its Aniilog note describes it as a lively pup that follows Flameruffs around until its charcoal-like fur starts to burn and it grows.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Aniilog number | No. 001 (1A) |
| Element | Fire |
| Role | DPS |
| Stage | Lumin |
| Trait | Scorching Flames |
| Mobility | Hustle |
Scorching Flames raises damage dealt to elementally countered targets by 25 percent, which is why an Emberpup is worth keeping on the bench for Wind fights such as Alpha Turbo. Hustle, its mobility option, lets it sprint at high speed while draining stamina.

Its combat kit is short but usable from the moment you catch it:
- Fire Kick — a dodge that lands with flames and deals 120 percent damage on a clean read, plus a 20 percent damage boost for 20 seconds.
- Fire Bolt — a ranged fireball that applies two stacks of Fire Debuff for 5 seconds, each stack cutting Fire Resistance by 1 percent.
- Pebble Kick — the stone version of the dodge attack, inflicting Blockade for 8 seconds so the target cannot swap Aniimo.
- ATK — a close-range physical Fire attack used as its basic swing.
Other Emberpup habitats outside Nimbus Fields
Nimbus Fields is the lowest-level option, but the basic form is listed in several later regions as well. The Argent Strait sits at a level range of 28 to 32, so it is a far less comfortable place to farm a starter pup.

- Nimbus Fields (Breezy Plains)
- Mistwoods
- The Argent Strait
- Echoback Landing
- Beast Fang Ridge
Those spawns do not include the regional variants. Highland Emberpup (No. 1B) has the Fire and Rock typing and appears in later regions, including Zephyrus Landbridge and Russet Highlands. Mountain Woods Emberpup (No. 1C) can be found around Beast Fang Ridge. Searching Nimbus Fields alone cannot fill the entire family row.
Evolving Emberpup into Flameruff
Two conditions gate the first evolution, and both must be met. Your Emberpup has to reach level 12, and you must clear Sanctum: First Spark. No evolution stone is spent at this stage.

The solo Sanctum named First Spark lies in Nimbus Fields, and its entrance is near -1018, 0648. An Aniimo Statue inside provides the Sanctum-exclusive Emberpup. With Fire Bolt, burn vines, light bonfires, set off explosive barrels, and finish four chest puzzles. Clearing the Sanctum unlocks Flameruff as a destination for every Emberpup you own.
To evolve, open the Aniimo menu, select the pup, choose Evolve, and confirm. If the option is greyed out on a level 12 Emberpup, the Sanctum has not been cleared yet. Flameruff then branches at level 20 into Scorchhowl, which needs a defeated Alpha Scorchhowl and one Blaze Stone, or Inferlupa, which needs Journey: Warrior completed plus one Night Stone and six Unbroken Flameruff Spirit.
Because one Flameruff can only take a single branch, and because wild Flameruff shares the same Nimbus Fields packs, the efficient play is to catch several Emberpups on the same run and keep the ones with the stats you want before spending anything on evolution.
