Alpha Aniimo are oversized field bosses that roam fixed spots in the overworld. Each one is a tougher version of a regular creature, and beating it opens a single free catch attempt. There are 17 of them spread across the Breezy Plains region, and every one guards its own materials.

Quick answer: All 17 Alpha Aniimo sit at set locations in Breezy Plains. Fully defeat one in battle, then use the free Aniipod it hands you to catch it. The full list of spots and drops is in the table below.

Shared first-clear rewards

Beating any Alpha for the first time pays out a common bundle on top of its key drop. Every first clear includes:

  • Glimmer x50
  • Safaris (Exp) x500
  • Irisalis Petal x1
  • Lumin Amber: Breezy Plains x1

Alpha Rookey and Alpha Luminelle are the exceptions on quantity, handing out a larger Safaris payout along with Star Sand and Star Dust instead of a stone.

The Alphas that take extra steps to reach

Most Alphas simply wander their patch of the map, but three are locked behind puzzles or blocked paths.

Alpha Geoclaw (Nimbus Fields)

Head to the body of water west of the Breezy Plains Branch and look for a Glacy surrounded by Skippys. A blocked hole nearby marks the lair entrance. Burn the objects covering the hole first, then clear the vines behind them by infusing 120 Lumin Ambers into the Breezy Plains Branch.

Alpha Glynsera (Beast Fang Ridge)

This one hides in a cave south of Sanctum: Water to Ice. The entrance is sealed by ice, so bring a Fire attacker to melt it open before you can start the fight.

Alpha Minespine (Beast Fang Ridge)

Minespine sits underground in the Crystal Cave, reached south of the Forgotten Mine. You will need to drop into the cave system rather than search the surface.

How to beat and catch an Alpha

Check your level before you travel. The earliest Alpha expects you to be at least level 13, and later ones scale higher, so under-leveled teams will struggle.
Build around the Alpha’s weakness. Bring an attacker whose element counters the boss, then round out the team with a Break unit, a strong DPS, and a healer for longer fights. Rotate low Aniimo out before they faint rather than letting the whole team drop.
Fully defeat the Alpha. Unlike regular wild captures, you do not weaken it to a sliver first. The catch window only opens once the boss is beaten in battle.
Use the free Aniipod the game gives you when the boss falls. Throwing it triggers the catch attempt.

Throwing the Aniipod guarantees you keep the first-clear rewards even when the catch does not succeed. If you leave the catch screen without making an attempt, you receive nothing.

You will know the clear registered when the first-clear reward screen appears and the boss no longer counts as undiscovered on your tracker. From there, its key material becomes a repeatable drop on future runs to the same spot.
