Bugged in WoW Forever: How to Kill All 8 Enchanted Skyhoppers

Where the level 9 Skyhoppers hide around southern Valanaar, and what the quest pays out when you hand it in.

Where the level 9 Skyhoppers hide around southern Valanaar, and what the quest pays out when you hand it in.

Bugged is a short extermination quest in World of Warcraft: Forever that sits right before the level 10 talent unlock. It sends you out of Valanaar’s main building and into the settlement’s southern outskirts, where eight Enchanted Skyhoppers are scattered across gazebos, house interiors, stone paths and grassy slopes rather than grouped in one tidy pack.

Quick answer: Take [10] Bugged from Valennia Stormfist in Valanaar, kill 8 Enchanted Skyhoppers across the southern outskirts, then return to her for 700 experience plus 2 silver and 25 copper.

ObjectiveEnchanted Skyhopper Exterminated: 8

The quest area is marked by a blue shaded circle on both the minimap and the world map, covering the southern edge of Valanaar and the ground just past the bridge. Everything you need is inside or just around that circle, so there is no reason to wander toward Falaath Village or Shen’Dar Village for this one.

Where Enchanted Skyhoppers spawn

Skyhoppers do not sit in an open field. They are tucked into the architecture of the outskirts, which is why players often run past several of them while the counter sticks at three or four. The spots worth checking:

  • Inside the stone gazebo structures near the edge of the settlement.
  • Indoors on the ground floor of the local buildings.
  • Upstairs in those same buildings, one floor above the first spawn.
  • Along the stone paths and near building entrances.
  • On the grassy hills and open grass past the southern wooden bridge.

If the counter stalls, go back into the buildings before running further south. The interior and upper-floor spawns are the two most commonly missed.

Clearing all 8 Enchanted Skyhoppers

Speak to Valennia Stormfist inside the main building in Valanaar and accept [10] Bugged. Open your map first if you want to see the blue quest circle before you set off.

Leave the building and run down the wooden ramps heading south. Follow them until the marked area appears on your minimap.
Check the stone gazebo structure at the start of the quest area. The first Skyhopper sits inside it, and killing it ticks the counter to 1/8.
Enter the nearby building. One Skyhopper is on the ground floor and a second is upstairs, so take the stairs before you leave. That puts you at 3/8.
Drop back down and head outside onto the stone path. The fourth target is on the path itself, and the fifth is a short run further along, close to another building entrance.

Cross the wooden bridge and kill the sixth Skyhopper on the path on the far side. This is where the spawns spread out into open ground.

Run up the grassy hill above the path for the seventh kill, then sweep the surrounding grass inside the blue circle for the eighth. Watching the map while you sweep makes the last one much faster to find.

Turning in Bugged and confirming completion

You know the hunt is finished when the tracker reads Enchanted Skyhopper Exterminated: 8/8 and an Objective Complete message appears on screen. At that point nothing else in the area needs killing, and any extra Skyhoppers you meet on the way back are optional.

Retrace your route north into Valanaar and back up to Valennia Stormfist. A yellow question mark above her head confirms the quest is ready to hand in. Turning it in awards 700 experience along with 2 silver and 25 copper.

Spending the level 10 talent point

The experience from Bugged is enough to push a character through to Level 10, which is the point where the Talents menu opens up and your first talent point becomes available. Press N to open it.

Hunters see three tabs, Beast Mastery, Marksmanship and Survival, and can drop that first point straight into Endurance Training in the Beast Mastery tree. The point is spent once the talent shows a filled rank in the tree.

From start to finish the quest is a tight loop around Valanaar’s southern edge, and the only real time sink is hunting down the two indoor spawns and the final Skyhopper in the grass. Clear those and the talent trees are waiting when you walk back through the door.
