Max level in Project Slayers 2 is 225, and almost the entire climb runs through repeatable NPC quests rather than random mob grinding. The route barely branches until Level 25, when you commit to Slayer or Demon, and then rejoins at the endgame where both factions farm the same boss rotation.
Quick answer: Run the Krue, Tom, Chaka, and Wagwan quest chain to Level 50, pick Slayer or Demon at Level 25, then stack Crow or Muzan boss hunts to reach 225.
Project Slayers 2 leveling route by level band
Each band below feeds directly into the next one. Quests are repeatable, so the pattern is always the same: take the quest, clear the targets, hand it in, take it again.
| Levels | Location | Quest giver and targets |
|---|---|---|
| 1–10 | Windy Peak | Krue — bandits, Zuko (Lv 7) |
| 10–26 | Bamboo Grove | Tom — Bear Cubs, Mother Bear (Lv 18) |
| 26–40 | Windy Peak hills | Chaka and Kazu — hostile Civilians |
| 40–50 | Waterfall cave | Wagwan — Lv 40 guards, Hoyuzo (Lv 50) |
| 50–62 | Waterfall cave | Cave demons, Crow or Muzan tasks |
| 62–90 | Seasons Crossing | Ruoyi — 4 Mizunoto (Demon) |
| 90–115+ | Iceveil Valley | Shiro, Mitsu (Lv 105 and Lv 115) |
| 115–225 | Boss rotation | Tengai, Giyen, Rengu, Obari, Zentaro |

You spawn at Windy Peak with nothing worth using. Krue stands by the gate and hands out the opening bandit quest, and Raze’s Sword Shop sits a short walk away selling the Regular Katana for 500 Yen and the Fancy Katana for 1,500 Yen. Buying the cheap katana is optional — Zuko drops the Cutlass at Level 7, which outclasses it, so skipping the purchase saves you currency for a breathing style later.

Spend skill points as you earn them instead of hoarding them. Wall climbing and double jump make the vertical routes between areas far less painful, and max health plus extra damage keeps you alive against bosses that outlevel you.

Your inventory separates vanity slots from stat gear, so cosmetic pieces and stat pieces can be worn at once. Haori drops and items bought from roaming merchants are the main early source of stats, and checking the stat lines before equipping anything is worth the few seconds.

Levels 1-26: Krue, Tom, and Chaka
Chaka keeps giving work past this point, including Level 25+ targets and the boss Kaiden, so he stays useful even after the Civilian chain is done.
Level 25: Choosing Slayer or Demon
Both paths open at Level 25, and the split is mostly about cost. Slayers pay for a breathing style; Demons pay nothing but have to find Muzan.
Slayer: breathing styles and trainers
Learning a breathing style needs Level 25 or higher, a few thousand Wen, and a material specific to that style. Thunder asks for Demon Horns, while Sound asks for Beast Cores, so check what you’re missing in the Archives menu before you make the trip. Demon Horns come from the demons in the waterfall cave.
Once you have the materials and roughly 4,000 to 6,000 Wen, you still have to reach the trainer and beat them. Thunder Trainer Zentaro sits at the peak above the wilderness, and the route there is a climb along trees, vines, and rock faces rather than a walk. Training itself is a mini-game followed by a fight, and clearing the fight is what actually registers the style on your character.
Demon: finding Muzan and rolling a Blood Demon Art
Muzan only appears at night, and he is out toward the mountains near Iceveil Valley. Use the village shrines shown on the map to skip most of the travel, then ring the Biwa Bell at his location to enter Muzan’s Lair.

Talking to Muzan lets you roll for a Blood Demon Art using spins or Ore. Your rolled arts appear as Evil Art Orbs in the Archives, and the same conversation opens a task menu of Slayer hunts that doubles as a steady EXP source from here on.
Levels 26-62: Waterfall cave, Wagwan, and faction quests
The waterfall cave carries both factions from the high twenties to around Level 50. The demons inside drop Demon Horns, so Slayers can fund a breathing style with the same grind that levels them.
Wagwan stands above the cave entrance and gives a Level 40 quest against the cave guards, followed by the Hoyuzo boss at Level 50. Run his quests alongside the Kasugai Crow’s repeatable boss hunts — the quest rewards stack, so having several active on the same target multiplies what a single kill pays out.
After 50, the paths diverge briefly. Slayers push to Level 62 for Final Selection, which is marked on the world map. Demons head to Seasons Crossing and speak to the shady individual Ruoyi, whose Level 62 job is to eliminate four Mizunoto targets.
Ruoyi is reachable through a house wall, so if you cannot see him from the street, that is where the interaction is.
Levels 90-115+: Iceveil Valley quests
Iceveil Valley is the snow biome and the main quest hub for the upper levels. High Demon quests start at Level 90, Iceveil Guard Shiro runs a supply quest, and Demon Slayer Mitsu adds jobs at Level 105 and Level 115.
The cold is the real obstacle. You need the Emberheart Lantern to stop freezing out there, which comes from the frozen Yeti boss through Velho Trapper Retsu. A tamed horse also helps — escaped horses show up with an on-screen alert and can be tamed through a mini-game, or bought outright for 15,000 Wen.
Slayers should also stop at the Butterfly Mansion to raise their Slayer Rank and buy Large Gourds, which increase maximum stamina and health. Refining weapons with Hagane at the Hidden Mist Village and crafting with Blacksmith Togane are the other upgrades worth the detour before the endgame grind.
Levels 115-225: Boss farming to max level
The last stretch is a rotation, not a route. Slayers pull boss hunts from the Kasugai Crow and Demons pull them from Muzan, and both lists cover the same high-level targets: Tengai, Giyen, Rengu, Obari, and Zentaro.
Accept every quest that names the boss you are about to fight before you engage it. Boss EXP also scales with the damage you personally deal, so soloing or landing the bulk of the damage pays noticeably more than tagging along in a large group.
Original Project Slayers: Level 1-225 route
The first game uses different villages and NPCs entirely, so the route does not carry over. If that is the one you are playing, the chain below is the established path.
Levels 1-15: Somi and Zapiwara Cave
Somi stands in Kiribating Village, the starting area, and is the only quest giver you need for the first stretch.

Her quest comes in three parts: defeat Zuko’s Subordinates, rescue her sister Riyaku, then kill Bandit Zuko. Repeat the whole chain until Level 10.

The rescue step needs a carry input to pick Riyaku up and bring her back, and the prompt appears on screen once she is free.

From Level 10, move to Zapiwara Cave and take Membere’s quest to clear demons inside, setting your spawn at the green crystal so deaths cost you nothing. Run it to Level 15, which is the minimum for Final Selection. Demon players talk to Muzan instead to start the questline for Muzan’s Blood, then use the demon art spinner in the cave — and get a straw hat or Kamado clan as soon as possible, since sunlight burns you without one.
Levels 20-50: Grandpa Shiron and Bandit Kaden
Ushumaru Village is the next stop. Grandpa Shiron gives the quest for Bandit Kaden and his four subordinates, which pays well, is repeatable, and drops Tier 1 chests along the way.

Slayers can mix in Kasugai Crow quests over the same window, summoned by pressing 3, for boss targets like Shinobu. Demons pull the equivalent list from Muzan.
Levels 50-105: Tyrone and Malik
At Level 50 you move into the second world. Nomay Village is where Tyrone hands out the bandit quest covering the Nomay Bandits and the Nomay Bandit Boss.

Repeat Tyrone’s quest until Level 80. Demons without a straw hat or Kamado sunlight immunity should spam the cave 1 quest instead, since Tyrone’s targets are outdoors.

From Level 80, buy the map point to Village 2 and find Malik outside it. His thief quest runs to Level 105, and Ouwigahara with friends is the alternative if you want EXP and Wen at the same time.
Levels 105-225: Dungeons, night quests, and boss farms
The last 120 levels come from three sources. The Policeman night quest in Wop City, Ouwigahara dungeon runs, and straight boss farming all work, and the dungeon queue circle in Wop City is the fastest of the three for most players. Stacking the 2x EXP and Wen boosts before a run and setting up Tier 5 boss rotations makes the grind considerably shorter.
Wen sources in the original game
| Source | Location | Payout |
|---|---|---|
| Wagwon’s wagon quest | Kiribating Village | 150 Wen per delivery |
| Sarah’s rice quest | Kiribating Village | 120 Wen per quest |
| Betty’s lost diamond | Ushumaru Village | 500 Wen, 5 min cooldown |
| Fishing | Lake near Ushumaru | 100–150 Wen per fish |
| Muzan quests | Map 2 | 850–1,100 Wen, repeatable |
| Ouwigahara dungeon | Hub | ~12,000 Wen per 3,000 pts |
The efficient loop is cycling Betty’s diamond quest and fishing the nearby river while it sits on cooldown. Betty’s diamond spawns in one of three spots, so a quick check of all three is faster than searching.
How to tell the route is working
Every quest in the chain updates a counter as you clear targets and pays out only when you return to the NPC who gave it, so a quest that still shows progress after a kill was not accepted properly. A breathing style is only yours after you beat the trainer at the end of the mini-game, and a Blood Demon Art only counts once the rolled Evil Art Orb appears in your Archives.
If EXP feels slow for the level band you are in, the usual cause is a missing stacked quest rather than a bad farm spot. Check that the Crow or Muzan hunt for the boss you are fighting is active before the fight starts, not after.
