Serpent Breathing is one of the cheapest styles to pick up early in Slayers 2, largely because its trainer sits on the cliffs directly above the starting region rather than across the map. The catch is vertical, not horizontal. The NPC tucks himself into a narrow crevice near the top of a rock face, so the trip is mostly wall climbing.
Quick answer: Run south through the red torii gate below Windy Peak, head toward Bamboo Grove, then climb the Wilderness stone cliffs on your right. The trainer stands in an alcove at the top.
Serpent Breathing requirements in Slayers 2
Reaching the NPC and unlocking the style are two separate things. You can walk up to him at any level, but the questline will not start until you meet all of the entry conditions.
- Level 25, the current milestone for every breathing style
- 20 Demon Horns
- 5 Beast Cores
- Wall Climb unlocked from the skill tree, for the ascent itself
Scout the alcove before you farm. The trainer’s dialogue lists the cost, so you can confirm the numbers for your build and then go collect materials.

Use the HUD to identify your area as you move: entering each region changes its label to Safe zone, Wilderness, or Bamboo Grove. Your starting point is the grassy courtyard southeast of Windy Peak and north of Bamboo Grove, where a red torii gate marks the safe zone boundary.
T Wall Climb prompt appears on a surface, and use ledges to break up long climbs.

If the alcove looks empty, pull your camera back and circle the plateau. Trainers that appear to be missing are usually a few metres above or below where you are standing, and rejoining the server fixes an area that has not loaded properly.
Where to farm 20 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores
Demon Horns are dropped by demons in the snowy region west of the bear area. A single demon may drop two horns, meaning about ten kills should meet the Serpent requirement. The demons by the waterfall shown on the map also provide a dependable source.
Beast Cores are a shorter trip. Use the compass at the top of the screen, travel north toward the villages, and clear demons in those areas until five cores have dropped.
Serpent Breathing training questline and how to confirm the unlock
With the level and materials in hand, talk to the trainer and pay to begin training. Standing in the alcove does nothing on its own, and neither does handing over the materials. The style only registers after the questline is finished.
Most of the objectives are training minigames issued by the trainer, run one after another. The sequence closes with a duel against the Serpent Trainee. Beating that fight clears the final objective, and Serpent Breathing then appears as a usable style on your character, with the trainer’s quest marked complete.
Other breathing trainer locations in Slayers 2
Eight breathing styles are available, alongside nine Blood Demon Arts on the demon side of progression. Every style shares the level 25 gate, but the materials and the travel difficulty vary sharply between them.

| Style | Trainer | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Serpent | Obari | Cliffs above the starting area |
| Flame | Rengu | House by the red bridge, Mistfall Village |
| Insect | Shinora | Butterfly Mansion main roof |
| Stone | Gyorei | Lower path from the bear area |
| Thunder | Zentaro | Mountain route near the bear village |
| Water | Urokodaki | Underwater passage near Bamboo Grove |
| Wind | Saneri | Snowy biome platform in the water |
| Sound | Tengai | Icevail Valley, snowy region |
Thunder is the closest sibling to the Serpent trip. From Bamboo Grove you chain double jumps and wall climbs up trees and rock faces to the very top of a tall mountain, and without Wall Climb the route is not passable at all.

Insect is the opposite problem. The approach through Windy Peak and down into the Butterfly Estate is simple, but the trainer is standing on a roof by the purple wisteria tree rather than at ground level, which is why players walk past him.

Blood Demon Arts sit outside this system entirely. They run through Muzan’s questline and demon transformation, followed by an Art roll and its own obtainment quest, with Blood Manipulation and Blood Sickle among the options on that roster.

For players building their first character, Serpent remains the sensible early pick. The materials are affordable next to Wind’s 50 Demon Horns or Water’s 5,000 Wen and 30 horns, the trainer is minutes from spawn, and the moveset holds up well for farming while you push toward the later regions.
