Project Slayers 2 Leveling Guide: Every Quest NPC From Level 1 to Max

The exact quest-giver chain, Breathing Style requirements, and Final Selection conditions that carry a new character to max level.

The exact quest-giver chain, Breathing Style requirements, and Final Selection conditions that carry a new character to max level.

Leveling in Project Slayers 2 is not open-ended grinding. Each level band has one NPC who hands out a repeatable quest tuned to that range, and the fastest route is simply moving down that chain in order while unlocking a Breathing Style and clearing Final Selection along the way.

Quick answer: Follow the quest-giver chain in order — Krue to 10, Tom to 26, Chaka to 40, Wagwan to 62, Jugg to 75, Goro to 100, Tomoi and Shiro to 105, Mitsu to 145, then Kasugai Crow missions.

Ranges overlap slightly because quests stay turn-in-able past their recommended level. The rule of thumb is to move on the moment enemies stop threatening you, since the next NPC’s quest always pays more experience per kill.

Levels 1–26: Krue, Zuko, and the Bamboo Grove bears

You spawn at Windy Peak with fists only. Krue stands near the starting area and gives the bandit hunt that carries the first ten levels, and once you have a few hundred Wen, the vendor Raze sells the Regular Katana and later the Fancy Katana. Equip the katana into a hotbar slot before fighting anything else, because sword swings build Sword Mastery alongside your character level.

Krue also offers the Bandit Boss quest for Zuko, who spawns in the Wilderness and drops the Cutlass along with the Quick Draw skill. Zuko is worth repeating to roughly level 20 because he dies fast once you have a katana and he feeds the skill tree, which awards three skill points per level for stats, innate nodes, and later Breathing branches.

From there, ride to Bamboo Grove and set your spawn point at the shrine. Tom gives the Hunt The Bears quests for Bear Cubs and the Mother Bear boss, and the boss is usually surrounded by other players, so kills come quickly.

Levels 26–62: The Kaiden chain and Wagwan’s demon guards

The Kaiden questline runs through several NPCs. Kazu at Windy Peak starts it by asking you to identify and clear village spies among the civilians, Noot hands over a coded letter, and delivering that letter to Chaka unlocks the subordinate clears at level 26 and the Kaiden fight at level 34. Kaiden drops Claws and opens specialized skill tree paths.

After level 40, the single most repeatable quest in the mid game belongs to Wagwan, found beneath the waterfall in Bamboo Grove. His demon guard clears and the boss Hoyuzo can be spammed all the way to level 62 or 65, which is the point where Dreamfall Hollow becomes worthwhile.

How to unlock a Breathing Style before Final Selection

Do not walk into Final Selection with sword swings alone. A Breathing Style requires reaching level 25, handing over 30 Demon Horns, and gathering Beast Cores, so the collection work should happen during the bear and Kaiden stretch.

Water BreathingWater Trainer UrokodakiHut behind the waterfall, via an underwater tunnel
Serpent BreathingSerpent Trainer ObariUp the mountain path
Sound BreathingSound Trainer TengaiCliffs above the snowy region

Demon Horns come from the lower cave system under the Mother Bear area, where low-tier demons and Hoyuzo the Sickle Reaper both drop them. Beast Cores drop from Beast Born Demons, which appear at night around the village and near the shrine by Mistfall Harbor.

Training is six tasks, and the mix depends on the style you picked. Most of them are timing or minigame checks rather than combat.

  • Push-ups and squats — timed button-hold rhythm checks in the Butterfly Estate training room
  • Boulder Split, Boulder Push, and the Boulder Push maze — move or break stone to a marked spot
  • Aim Training and the Cup Game — click targets on the estate practice board
  • Underwater Rocks — collect 5 Sea Crystals while watching your oxygen
  • Parkour Dungeon — pull three wall levers and hit the checkpoint flags
  • Trainee duel — beat Water Trainee Sabito, the Serpent Trainee, or the Sound Trainee

Most Breathing training steps, including push-ups and aim practice, take place at the Butterfly Estate. Shown at 10:30 in uhClux’s video.

The counter next to the trainer ticks up as each task lands, and beating the trainee flips it to complete and unlocks the Breathing branch in your skill tree. Spend points immediately on the first form, such as Water Surface Slash or Bursting Bloom, before moving on.

Final Selection: entry window, tasks, and the Hand Demon

Final Selection Plains sits past the Butterfly Estate and across the mountains, marked by a torii gate. The event runs on a two-hour cycle, so the gate holds a countdown and you wait with the other players until it opens. The recommended level is 40 to 45.

Returning to Final Selection Entrance15:40Returning to Final Selection Entrance

Inside, The Sisters register your attempt and the trial is a string of errands before the boss. Rem wants fruit collected, Klien needs the Nichirin Katana recovered from the cliff base and bandages delivered, and Vael needs nearby demons cleared. A pond leads into an underwater cave where The Lost Slayer guards submerged keys and the Shotgun Schematic, which drops at roughly 5 percent.

The three-stage spike parkour dungeon comes next and needs timed double jumps to reach the switches. Clearing it opens the arena for the Hand Demon, a slam-heavy boss that spawns minions and is far easier with a partner than solo.

Loot the chests in the arena after the kill before you turn in, since the Stylish Haori appears there.

You know the exam is finished when you speak to The Sisters and the Demon Slayer Corps dialogue fires. That hand-off grants the Slayer title, the Slayer Uniform, Ore, and Crude Iron Ingots, and it attaches a Kasugai Crow to your character.

Levels 62–145: Dreamfall Hollow, Mistfall Harbor, and Iceveil Valley

Jugg in Dreamfall Hollow takes over at level 62 with cave clearance contracts that hold up to 75. Marking his position on the map first saves a long walk, since the hollow is easy to overshoot.

Demon Slayer Goro waits by the waterfall at Mistfall Harbor and his level 75 demon quest is the single best repeat between 75 and 100. Nothing in that band needs special gear, so it is worth parking here until the level 100 badge pops.

Iceveil Valley handles everything above that. Wounded Slayer Tomoi gives the level 90 quests, Iceveil Guard Shiro the level 100 set, and Demon Slayer Mitsu, higher up the slope, offers the level 105 frost demon quest that runs to 145.

The snow applies frost damage that drains you while you stand in it. Buy snow gear from Winter Store Rep Lynx to cut that damage before committing to the frost demon grind.

Kasugai Crow missions from level 145 to max

The crow you receive for passing Final Selection opens a mission list of assassination and monster hunt contracts, and those are the fastest experience in the game past level 145. Because crow missions stack on top of normal NPC quests, the efficient pattern is to accept a crow hunt for a boss you already intend to kill, then take the matching quest from the local NPC and turn in both.

Mother Bear and Hoyuzo show up in the crow list often and both die quickly to a leveled Breathing rotation, which makes them the usual double-dip targets on the run toward max mastery.

Mounts, katanas, and weapon refining that cut grind time

A mount is the first quality-of-life purchase worth making. Wild horses spawn in the open fields, and the T prompt starts a taming minigame followed by a purchase of 15,000 Wen. Travel between Bamboo Grove, Mistfall Harbor, and the Final Selection gate is far less painful on horseback.

For gear, Refiner Hagane in Hidden Mist Village upgrades weapons using Wen and Refinement Ore, which drops steadily from beast and demon kills. Yagane, in the same village, forges the Enryu, Shinkage, and Tengoku Katanas from the Crude Iron Ingots that Final Selection pays out, and Blacksmith Togane builds the Shotgun from its schematic plus metal scraps, silk thread, and 25,000 Wen.

World event bosses are the other gear source. Repeated kills on Tengai in Iceveil Valley drop the Sound Katanas and Sound Slayer Uniform chests, and raid chests from events like the Grove Raiders fight hold higher-tier loot.

Played in that order, the climb is mostly about never grinding an enemy longer than its quest band pays for. Lock in a Breathing Style around level 25, clear Final Selection in the low 40s for the crow and the ingots, and let the crow list take over once the standard quest chain runs out.
