Project Slayers 2: How to Find Muzan Location

Muzan only walks the map after dark, and only once your reputation has dropped far enough to interest him.

Muzan only walks the map after dark, and only once your reputation has dropped far enough to interest him.

Muzan is the gatekeeper for the entire Demon path in Project Slayers 2, and he is deliberately annoying to track down. He is not a static quest giver standing under a marker all day. He is a wandering NPC who only exists on the map during the night cycle, and he only bothers with players whose reputation has already gone bad.

Quick answer: Drop your reputation to -40, wait for nighttime, then search Mistfall Harbor, Iceveil Valley, Hidden Mist Village, or the streets of Oumi. Server hop if he is not there.

Conditions for Muzan to spawn in Project Slayers 2

Three things have to line up before a search is worth your time. Miss any one of them and you can run laps around the correct spot and still see nothing.

  • It has to be nighttime in the server. Muzan does not spawn during the day, no matter which area you check.
  • Your reputation needs to reach -40. Muzan sends a message on the left side of the screen at every -10 step along the way, and the prompt at -40 is your cue to go looking.
  • You have to be in one of his patrol areas. He moves around inside a zone rather than standing on a fixed point.

The fastest way to tank your reputation is killing the plain Civilian NPCs in the starting village, which are worth -1 each. Skip anything with a quest icon above it and skip NPCs whose name is wrapped in asterisks, since those are tied to quest lines. Killing other players also works, and higher-level targets are worth more.

All Muzan spawn areas in Project Slayers 2

Muzan rotates between a short list of areas, and he patrols within each one instead of parking in a corner. Treat the landmark below as the center of your search, then sweep outward.

Mistfall Harbor

This is the one most players get him at, mostly because it is a short trip from the main spawn. Head north from the bear area and use your compass to keep the heading straight. Muzan usually appears in the open space in front of Ginzo, then walks the ramps between the harbor’s upper and lower levels, so check both tiers before writing the server off.

Iceveil Valley

In the snow region, he patrols around the Tengai boss spawn near the Clothing Shop and often comes down the ramp to the left of it. The route in runs past the gates where Old Trapper Retsu sits, then up a series of slopes toward the Iceveil Guard Shiro icon. Set your spawn at the purple crystal there so a death does not cost you the whole trip.

The snow area deals constant cold damage. Bring an Emberheart Lantern before you commit to searching here at night.

Hidden Mist Village

On the map’s right, the white-looking section is merely the top layer. Reach the village’s middle, then drop through the mist; beneath it lies the actual hidden village, formed from stacked wooden walkways. Muzan appears on the lowest walkway, so descend directly instead of checking the higher levels.

Oumi

In Oumi, his marker sits around the Shrine, but the icon is a zone hint rather than a pin. He can turn up anywhere in the town, including the lower level and the gaps behind buildings, and he is easy to walk straight past. Pulling up the map and turning on boss icons under Map Settings makes his pink marker visible so you at least know which town to sweep.

Sweep the streets on foot rather than sprinting through. He walks a loop around the village and frequently ends up tucked behind a building where he is invisible from the main path, so slow down at every corner and check the lower tier of the town before moving on.

Server hopping when Muzan does not appear

If you have covered an area at night and he is not there, stop searching and change servers. That is the intended workaround, not a last resort. Each new server rolls the night cycle and the spawn again, and hopping is far faster than waiting out a full day cycle in a server where he never showed up.

Land in a server, confirm it is night, do one fast loop of your chosen area, and hop again. Repeating short checks beats one long patrol.

How to confirm you found Muzan

You’ll find Muzan as a human-shaped NPC dressed in black with a white fedora; only Muzan is displayed over him. Approach him to bring up the Chat prompt, which uses T. Speak with him, but leave him unharmed: his blood comes from the quest reward, not as a drop.

The conversation is your confirmation that the reputation gate cleared. Muzan hands over his questline on the spot, starting with the Spider Lilies and the delivery of Dr. Higoshima, and a quest marker appears on your screen. If he speaks but refuses to give you anything, check your inventory, because he brushes players off once they already hold Muzan’s Blood.
