Final Selection is the gated event that turns a player into a Demon Slayer in Project Slayers 2. It runs on a fixed clock, locks you out until the countdown at the gate hits zero, and then hands you a chain of quests that has to be finished in order before the Hand Demon shows up at the end.

Quick answer: Hit Level 45, stay human, and be standing at the Final Selection gate when the hourly timer reaches zero. Then clear the NPC quest chain in order, ending with the Hand Demon.

Final Selection requirements and entry time

Two conditions decide whether the gate will let you in at all, and the third is timing.

  • Level 45 or higher on your character.
  • You must be human, not a demon.
  • Entry opens at the start of every hour, on the :00 mark.
  • The gate NPCs sit under a visible countdown timer that stays locked until then.

You can run the whole thing solo, but the demon waves and the boss go faster with teammates in the same instance. Once the countdown reaches zero, the entrance opens and a cutscene line confirms you are standing before the Demon Slayer Corps’ Final Selection.

Route to the Final Selection gate

Spawn in at the Bamboo Grove shard. This is the cleanest starting point for the run, and a horse cuts the travel time down noticeably.
Head out through the Wilderness in the direction of Butterfly Estate, following the main pathways rather than cutting across open terrain.

Cross the long red bridge past the estate and keep following the mountain path upward.
Look for the stretch of purple wisteria trees. The stairs behind them lead straight to the NPCs standing under the locked timer.

All Final Selection quests in order

The chain is strictly sequential. Each NPC points you at the next one, and skipping ahead is not possible.

Rem’s fruit quest: All three fruit locations

The run opens with a Locate Rem marker that pulls you across the foggy mountainside. Talking to him starts Help Rem, a four-part objective made up of three pickups and the return trip.

  • Apple — on the ledges near Rem’s position.
  • Banana — further along the rocky mountain shelves.
  • Grapes — the last pickup scattered across the surrounding ledges.
  • Return to Rem — hand all three in to close the quest.

All three sit loose on the ground within a short radius of Rem, so sweeping the ledges in a circle is faster than chasing markers one at a time. Rogue demons patrol the same paths and will interrupt pickups, so clear them before you loot.

Vael, Klien, and the bandage minigame

Defeat Demons for Vael

Vael is perched on a rock nearby. His task is a straight kill count of 5 Lesser Demons in the immediate area, then a return trip to him. Nothing else is required here.

Klien’s Nichirin Katana

Klien is the next marker. He has lost his blade, and the katana is behind you rather than ahead, so double back along the path you came in on and search the lower ground. More rogue demons sit between you and the weapon. Pick up the Nichirin Katana and hand it back to him.

Buying the Bandage from Rika

Klien then needs treatment and hands you Wen for it. Rika is the doctor sitting on the barrels, and a Bandage costs 115 Wen. Take it back to Klien to start the Steady hands minigame, where you keep the cursor inside the moving circle for 18 seconds to heal him.

Mizuto: The Lost Slayer and the Parkour Dungeon

Mizuto sends you into the water. Dive into the pond at the red marker and swim down into the submerged chamber, where The Lost Slayer (listed in the objective simply as Lost) is waiting. It is a straight fight with no puzzle attached, and stone skin or similar defensive skills help you trade safely in the confined space.

Once Lost is down, loot the chest for the Submerged Key, climb back out of the water, and report to Mizuto.

The key opens the Parkour Dungeon, which runs on a time limit. Pull the first lever to open the gate, then work through the platform sections, dodging spike traps between jumps. Several wall levers along the way unlock the gates ahead, and there are checkpoints between stretches. Pulling the final lever opens the exit, and speaking to Mizuto again closes out the questline.

The levers are the gating mechanism, not the jumps. If a gate will not open, a lever earlier in the room has been missed.

Mountain Survival and Rescue and Hold the Zone

Lavato starts Mountain Survival, a two-part objective built around timed checkpoint poles strung across the rocky, fog-covered terrain. Run the route without stopping to fight anything you can outrun, since the clock is the only thing being tested. The final checkpoint puts you next to Levi.

Levi assigns Rescue and Hold the Zone. Stand inside the red circle to capture it, kill the Rogue Demons that spawn in waves while the capture bar fills, then pick up the rescued Civilian and carry them back to Levi. Leaving the circle stalls the capture, so hold your ground and fight inside it.

Steve and the Hand Demon boss fight

Follow the waypoint markers along the mountain path to Steve, who sits beneath a large tree. Talking to him assigns Defeat the Hand Demon, the last objective in the event.

The Hand Demon is a large multi-armed boss with a deep health bar, shown at 1310 HP. Its attacks are telegraphed with red ground markers ahead of ground slams and radial shockwaves, and it also throws boulders and closes distance with leaping attacks. Rogue Demons keep spawning around the arena during the fight.

This is an endurance fight rather than a burst one. Stay out of the red zones, keep stamina in reserve for dodges instead of spending it all on chase damage, and alternate basic sword strings with your mastery skills so you always have something off cooldown when the boss commits to a slam.

How to confirm Final Selection is complete

When the Hand Demon’s health reaches 0, the quest closes out and mastery points are awarded on screen. An “Ending in 59 seconds” counter then appears, which is the instance winding down before it returns you out of the event. If that counter has appeared, the run is finished and nothing else needs to be done inside.

Because entry is tied to the hourly timer, the practical planning point is the start, not the finish. Arriving a few minutes before the hour with the level requirement already met is the difference between clearing Final Selection now and waiting out another full cycle at the gate.
