Suoming fights with a mechanical umbrella that folds into a blade, unfurls into a spinning canopy, and eventually furls back into a drill. That transformation is not just animation work. Each umbrella form maps to a combat state, and the state you are in decides which Basic Attack chain, Resonance Skill, and Intro Skill you get.
Quick answer: Suoming is a 5-star Electro Sword Resonator who builds Delusion with Basic Attacks, cycles through three Mind states, and uses Unison to either buff the next Resonator or keep herself on field.
Suoming’s role in Version 3.7
| Field | Detail |
|---|---|
| Rarity | 5-star |
| Element | Electro |
| Weapon | Sword |
| Role | Main DPS, Sub-DPS, or buffer |
| Core mechanic | Mind states, Delusion, Unison |
Almost all of her personal damage is tagged as Basic Attack DMG, including her Forte skills and her Intro Skill variants. That matters for building her later, but it also tells you how she plays. You are not spamming a Resonance Skill on cooldown, you are running attack chains and cutting into them with skills at the right moment.

These numbers come from pre-release testing and can still be adjusted before Version 3.7 goes live.

Add to Google Preferences →The three Mind states that change her buttons
Suoming moves between Awakened Mind, Deep Mind, and Calamity Mind. Nothing about this is random. Each transition is tied to a specific skill cast, and every state swaps out which version of her Basic Attack, Resonance Skill, Dodge Counter, and Intro Skill you are holding.
| State | How you enter it | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Awakened Mind | Default state, and where she returns after Engraved Heart ends | Standard 3-hit Basic Attack, Furled Canopy skills |
| Deep Mind | Intro Skill from Awakened Mind, or Sealed Delusion at full Delusion | 4-hit Unfurled Canopy chain, Whirling Thunder, Resonance Liberation |
| Calamity Mind | Casting Basic Attack – Umbral Canopy: Engraved Heart | Her locked-in finisher window |
Deep Mind is where she actually functions. Resonance Liberation is only available in Deep Mind, and entering Deep Mind also resets her Resonance Skill cooldown, which is the cleanest way to get a second skill cast in a rotation.
Delusion: how the Forte gauge fills and empties
Delusion is her Forte resource and it caps at 800 points. Filling it does not grant a buff on its own. Instead, hitting the cap replaces her Resonance Skill with a stronger version, and casting that version spends the whole bar.
- Landing Basic Attack, Basic Attack – Unfurled Canopy, or Whirling Thunder hits while on field grants Delusion.
- Resonance Liberation grants 200 points.
- Intro Skill – Unfurled Canopy: Thunder Rending grants 200 points.
- Intro Skill – Unfurled Canopy: Whirling Thunder (Unison) also grants 200 points.
Several actions wipe the bar instead of spending it productively. Casting her Intro Skill from Awakened Mind clears all Delusion, as does Sealed Delusion, and consuming Unison through her Resonance Skill clears it too. If you are chasing her big Forte window, avoid burning those in the wrong order.
Basic Attack chains and the umbrella forms
In Awakened Mind she performs a simple three-hit sword chain. In Deep Mind the umbrella unfurls and the chain extends to four stages of Unfurled Canopy. That alone is a damage upgrade, but the real addition is Whirling Thunder.
Shortly after the second stage of Unfurled Canopy, holding Normal Attack fires Whirling Thunder stages one and two back to back. Her Dodge Counter follows the same pattern. In Deep Mind it becomes Dodge Counter – Unfurled Canopy, which can chain straight into stage three of the Unfurled chain, or into Whirling Thunder if you hold the button instead.

Resonance Skill and the Forte Circuit upgrades
Her base skill, Furled Canopy: Rift Cleaver, doubles as a parry. Cast it as an enemy attack lands and she takes no damage, stagnates nearby targets, and cannot be interrupted, which then triggers the follow-up hit Unfurled Canopy: Crimson Gleam. Both halves can be cancelled into a specific Basic Attack stage depending on her current state, so the skill works as a combo connector as much as a defensive tool.

Sealed Delusion and Unforsaken Mind
At 800 Delusion the skill is replaced, and which replacement you get depends on the state. In Awakened Mind it becomes Furled Canopy: Sealed Delusion, which deals damage, sends her into Deep Mind, and clears Delusion. In Deep Mind it becomes Unfurled Canopy: Unforsaken Mind, which is the one you want.
Engraved Heart, her locked-in finisher
Shortly after Unforsaken Mind, her Basic Attack becomes Umbral Canopy: Engraved Heart. Press or hold either Normal Attack or Resonance Skill to cast it, and hold to keep attacking for a set duration. This is the drill sequence where she leaps up and slams down with crimson lightning and binding chains. It puts her into Calamity Mind, clears Delusion, and drops her back into Awakened Mind once it ends.

She is immune to interruption while Engraved Heart is casting, but she also cannot move, sprint, jump, dodge, use any other skill, or swap out. Start it when you can afford to stand still.
Resonance Liberation and the Thunder Crest coordinated attack
Umbral Canopy: Miasma Lock is her ultimate, usable only in Deep Mind and while airborne near the ground. Activating it turns the arena into a dark, rainy night, sends the umbrella ahead as a red hurricane, and inflicts AoE Electro damage. She also gains 200 Delusion and, most importantly, receives Unison for 5 seconds, with a 25-second trigger limit.
If Unison remains active when her Outro Skill goes off, Blight Rain, Miasmic Thunder is primed. The next hit from the active Resonator calls down a Thunder Crest as a coordinated attack. For the next three seconds, one more may descend each second, up to six in all; the effect ends after 8 seconds or when that maximum is reached.
Unison: buff the next Resonator or buff Suoming
Unison is the decision point that defines her. Once she has it, swapping out removes Unison, fires her Outro Skill, and fires the incoming character’s Intro Skill. If her Concerto Energy happens to be full at the same time, only the Unison effect is consumed. Swapping out with Unison also gives her Aligned Seals for 30 seconds, which is what loads her Outro buff.
The alternative is keeping her in. Casting Rift Cleaver while holding Unison removes it, spends 20 Concerto Energy, clears Delusion, and grants Seal Master instead. That turns her into the on-field carry for the next 12 seconds. You cannot have both, since gaining Aligned Seals blocks Seal Master and gaining Unison ends Seal Master early.
| Effect | Trigger | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Rain-Soaked Covenant | Any of her Intro Skill variants | 50% Electro DMG Bonus, 15s |
| Aligned Seals Outro | Swapping out while holding Unison | 30% Electro DMG Bonus, plus 20% per Unison Boon stack, up to 40% |
| Seal Master | Rift Cleaver cast while holding Unison | +40% Unfurled Canopy multipliers, +80% Crit DMG, 12s |
| Unison Boon | Swapping to Suoming while a teammate has Unison | 3% DMG per stack, up to 2 stacks, 30s |
Her Outro Skill, Canopy Rumble, also amplifies Electro DMG for the incoming character, and amplifies their Resonance Skill DMG if they are carrying Unison Boon. During Seal Master there is an extra combo route as well: press Normal Attack shortly after Unfurled Canopy stage four to loop back into stage two.
Team options and the Hsin pairing
Hsin arrives alongside her in Version 3.7 as a 5-star Electro Rectifier, the Sentinel of Mengzhou, and the first Sentinel to become playable. She is the obvious Unison partner, because she can also trigger Unison Response, which is what turns the pair into a loop rather than a one-way support handoff.

Hsin brings a neutral fox form, two combat modes, a pair of ultimates, and a golden field that stays on the battlefield after she leaves, periodically calling down swords. That persistent field is what lets her keep contributing while Suoming is active, so a rotation of Suoming into Hsin and back again keeps both characters inside their damage windows.

Both characters were shown in an early combat preview shared by Shuhei Yoshida with Kuro Games’ permission, using a test build with English voice acting.
If you would rather run Suoming as the main damage dealer, pair her with a fast Basic Attack support and a healer, and skip the swap so she can hold Seal Master. Either way the third slot is best spent on sustain and team buffs rather than a second carry, since both of her playstyles need uninterrupted field time.
Version 3.6 runs through September 30, 2026, and Suoming debuts with Version 3.7 after it. Kuro Games has not confirmed an exact launch date or banner schedule yet, so treat the timing as open until the official 3.7 preview lands.
