Slayers 2: How to Equip Items From Your Inventory

Where the inventory menu lives, what separates Equip Stats from Equip Vanity, and how to confirm gear is active.

Loot in Slayers 2 does nothing while it sits in your bag. Haoris, masks, necklaces and weapons all need to be equipped manually through the inventory menu, and the game gives you two separate ways to wear the same piece of gear depending on whether you want its bonuses or just its look.

Quick answer: Open the menu from the top-left corner of the screen, go to your inventory, select the item, then choose Equip Stats for its bonuses or Equip Vanity for appearance only.

Equip Stats vs Equip Vanity in Slayers 2

Every wearable item in your inventory offers both options, and they are independent of each other. That split exists so your character can look one way while your actual build runs on something else entirely.

OptionWhat it doesUse it for
Equip StatsApplies the item’s listed buffsHP, block, XP and damage bonuses
Equip VanityApplies the appearance onlyCosmetic looks with no stat effect

Item descriptions in the inventory spell out exactly what each piece grants before you commit. A cosmetic-heavy item like the Chained Glasses can be worn purely for the look, while something like the Flame Warrior Style lists its buffs directly in the description panel.

Read the description first. If the buffs are weak but the design is good, equip it as vanity and keep your stat slot free for something stronger.

How to equip an item from the inventory menu

Collect something worth wearing first. Early drops usually come from chests and mini-bosses, and Zuko is one of the first enemies most players farm for gear on the way out of the starting region.

Launch the game and open the menu using the button in the top-left corner of the screen. This is the same panel that holds your other character systems, so you only need to reach the inventory tab from there.
Select the item you want to wear. Clicking it opens its description along with any stat buffs attached to it, such as the bonuses carried by a Black Kumo Haori.
Choose Equip Stats to activate the bonuses, or Equip Vanity to wear it as a cosmetic. You can repeat this for other slots, so glasses, haoris and masks can be handled one after another in the same session.
Close the inventory menu and look at your character. Anything you equipped appears on your model immediately, layered over your base outfit.

How to confirm gear is actually equipped

The visual change on your character model is the fastest confirmation. Close the inventory and the item renders on your body right away, which is why haoris are the easiest pieces to check at a glance.

For stats, reopen the item in the inventory and compare its listed bonuses against your character values. An item worn through Equip Vanity will show up on your model without contributing any of the numbers in its description, so if a health or block figure has not moved, you likely used the vanity option instead of the stat one.

Accessories worth equipping for stats

Accessories are where the stat slot earns its keep. These are among the clearest early and mid-game upgrades, and each one lists its bonus in the same description panel you use to equip it.

AccessoryBonusSource
Sabito’s Mask+15 HP12% drop from Sabito
Riyaku’s Necklace+20 HP20% drop from Zoku
Nezuko’s Bamboo+25 HP, Damage Suppression5% drop from Nezuko
Straw Hat+5 Block, +50 HP, sunlight immunity for Demons1% from Tier 1, 2 and 10 chests
Yatagarasu Mask+5% XP, +5% drop rate, 50 HPSmall chance from Tier 3 and 5 chests

Haoris deserve their own mention because there are 17 unique versions, and each one carries a different stat bonus rather than a shared effect. They drop from Tier 1, 2 and 10 chests on the first map, from the Mugen Train legendary chest, and from certain Ouwohana bosses, so it is worth checking a new haori’s description before swapping out whatever you are already wearing.

The Slayer Uniform sits in both camps. It provides stat bonuses and also works as vanity clothing, which makes it a reasonable default while you hunt for something with numbers you actually want.

Once you understand the two-option system, managing gear becomes routine. Keep the strongest buffs in your stat slots, push anything you like the look of into vanity, and re-check the inventory every time a boss or chest hands you something new.
