World of Warcraft: Valanaar Druid Trainer Location (Lotheluum Starbreeze)

Where to find Lotheluum Starbreeze above Valanaar, and the quest he hands out for bear form.

Where to find Lotheluum Starbreeze above Valanaar, and the quest he hands out for bear form.

Valanaar hides its druid trainer in the least convenient place imaginable: not in the town square, not next to the other trainers, but up a hill on a ledge most players run straight past. The NPC you want is Lotheluum Starbreeze, and he keeps to a quiet overlook above the village with a waterfall behind him.

Quick answer: Leave the center of Valanaar heading toward the giant tree, veer left up the grassy slope, and climb to the overlook. Lotheluum Starbreeze stands beside a large tree above the pond and waterfall.

Where the Valanaar druid trainer stands

Valanaar sits between Falaath Village and Shen’dar Village, so if you open your map and those two names are on either side of you, you are in the right town. The trainer is not marked in the built-up part of the settlement. He is on the raised rocky ridge that overlooks the village, above the pond where the fishing trainer works.

Two landmarks do all the work here. The giant tree structure marks the main path through town, and the waterfall marks the ledge. Line those up and you cannot really miss him.

Route from Valanaar to Lotheluum Starbreeze

Start from the cobblestone paths in the back corner of town and get yourself onto the main road. Open your map once to confirm you are inside Valanaar proper and not drifting toward one of the neighboring villages.
Run up the main path toward the giant tree structure that dominates the skyline. Before you reach it, break off to the left and take the grassy hill instead of continuing along the road.

Climb the rocky, grassy ridge until the village drops away below you. The slope is walkable the whole way, so no mount or flight path is needed.
At the top of the overlook, look for the large tree on the edge of the ledge. Lotheluum Starbreeze is standing right beside it with the waterfall and the village spread out behind him.

If you end up at the pond with the fishing trainer, you are underneath him. Turn around and take the slope up.

The bear form quest he hands out

Training ranks is only half of what this NPC is for. He is also the starting point for bear form, which is why so many level 10 druids go looking for him in the first place. Talk to him and he points you toward another NPC outside of town.

That second NPC sits near the edge of the map at the end of the river, a short run from Valanaar rather than a cross-continent trip. He is the one who gives you the kill quest for the bear, and finishing it is what grants the form. You do not need to travel back to a capital city to start the chain.

How to confirm you have the right NPC

Target the NPC and check the name plate. It should read Lotheluum Starbreeze with the subtitle <Druid Trainer> underneath. Right-clicking him opens the training window with the abilities and ranks available for your level, which is the clearest sign you are talking to the correct trainer and not one of the other Valanaar NPCs.

If you are there for bear form, the confirmation is a new quest appearing in your log after the conversation, pointing you down toward the river. Once that entry shows up, you are done in Valanaar and the rest of the work happens out in the field.
