Hookshot is the closest thing Aniimo has to a grappling hook, and you cannot catch it in the wild. It belongs to Pawney, and Pawney only shows up after you finish the Warrior questline in Russet Highlands and pull the Sword of Bravery out of the rock at the mountain summit.
Quick answer: Track the Warrior quest under The Legend of Helmuts and Helgons, catch a Helmut in Russet Highlands, follow the trail to the summit, shatter the Dragonclaw Stone and pull the Sword of Bravery. Helmut becomes Pawney, which carries Hookshot.
What the Hookshot mobility skill does
Hookshot stretches your arm toward the center of the screen. If it connects with a wall or an enemy, it pulls you to it. Holding the skill button lets you aim before you fire, which is how you chain pulls up a cliff face instead of stopping halfway.
Mobility skills come from the creature you twine with, so Hookshot is only available while a Pawney is in your party and you are twined into it. Four Aniimo carry the skill.

Requirements before you start the Warrior quest
Access to Russet Highlands, a Breezy Plains area with level ranges running from 44 up to 50.
Aniipods in your bag, since the quest asks you to catch a wild Helmut, No.061 in the Aniilog.
A free slot in your active party so Helmut can be twined with during the quest.
Russet Highlands is a large, snowy zone with 73 chests, two bonfires and 29 transporters, so unlock the transporters along your route. You will be running the same mountain path several times.
Warrior questline walkthrough, from Sorora to the Sword of Bravery
Open the Log menu and switch to Journey quests. Under The Legend of Helmuts and Helgons, find the Warrior quest and track it. Its clue reads The Painter of the Russet Highlands.
Open the world map and head for the tracked marker in Russet Highlands. The mysterious painter Sorora is standing at an easel out in the open. Talk to her to start the questline properly.
The map then marks a capture spot for a wild Helmut in the snowy fields nearby. Approach it and throw an Aniipod to seal No.061 Helmut. An Aniipod Mega is more than enough for this catch.
Open the Aniimo management screen and confirm Helmut sits in your active party. The rest of the quest is gated behind being able to twine with it, so this step is not optional.
Travel to the marked ruins in Russet Highlands and find Weeping Helmut among the stones. Twine into Helmut before you speak to it. The conversation triggers the Blind Panic story summary.
Follow the next marker up the mountain trail. Hiding Helmut is tucked behind a cluster of rocks along the path. Talking to it plays the A Warrior’s Heart cutscene.
Keep climbing toward the peak by way of the stone staircases and snowy paths. At the top you will find an exhausted Helmut. Check on it, then examine the glowing red crystals and the markings scratched into the ground.
Walk into the circular arena at the summit, where the large Dragonclaw Stone sits. Check the map objective, then use Helmut’s action to shatter the stone. The Sword of Bravery is revealed embedded in the rock underneath.
A story panel titled Courage Born of Fear plays, describing the test of courage. Interact with the sword, answer the dialogue prompts from the Will of ???, and select Pull the sword out.
An animation plays as Helmut changes shape. When it ends, Pawney is unlocked as a Nova Stage DPS Aniimo, and Hookshot comes with it.
How to confirm Hookshot is unlocked
The transformation animation is the confirmation that the questline is finished, but you can verify the skill itself. Open the Aniimo management menu, select Pawney and scroll its skill list. Hookshot appears there as a Mobility skill with its pull-to-walls description.
Keep Pawney in your active party. Mobility skills are borrowed from the creature you twine with, so a Pawney sitting in storage gives you nothing.
Using Hookshot to climb cliffs and reach chests
Twine into Pawney, hold the skill button to aim at the surface you want, then release. You get pulled straight to the contact point, and firing again from there lets you work your way up a sheer wall in stages rather than hunting for a climbable route.
That makes Hookshot the fastest answer to chests parked on high ledges, the kind you can see from the ground but cannot reach on foot. Russet Highlands alone has 73 of them, and the same trick works anywhere in Idyll where a wall stands between you and a reward.
