How to Complete the Natural Disaster Survival Secret Quest (The Hunt: Roblox 20)

Natural Disaster Survival is the 2011 stop in The Hunt: Roblox 20, and it hides a second objective that the normal Animal Rescue quest never mentions. There is an underground lab beneath the waiting lobby, a line of code that has to be switched on, and a Donation Box that only counts hats you physically carry back to it.

Quick answer: Stand on the grey podium under the lobby’s blue staircase, change canCollectHats from False to True on the lab monitor, then deposit 20 hats into the Donation Box.

Requirements before the secret room will open

The hidden route is gated behind event progress, not behind anything inside Natural Disaster Survival itself. Clear these first, otherwise the podium will not drop you anywhere.

Year Infinity unlocks once you finish all 20 main quests in The Hunt: Roblox 20 hub.
Follow the Natural Disaster Survival clue in the hub, which is how the secret quests are activated. They opened on September 19, 2026.
Complete the regular Animal Rescue quest by penning three animals in the lobby.
Play on a public server. Hats come from other players, so an empty private server gives you nothing to collect.

Once that is squared away, join the Natural Disaster Survival experience and wait until you are standing in the main lobby between rounds.

How to open the secret room in the Natural Disaster Survival lobby

Find the blue staircase that spirals down through the middle of the lobby. Follow it all the way to the bottom floor.

Walk onto the grey podium in the center of that lower floor and click it. The floor opens and drops you into the underground lab. No NPC, currency, or item is involved, so if nothing happens, your event prerequisites are not finished.

The same podium works in reverse. Standing on it inside the lab sends you back up to the spawn island, which is how you will move between rounds and deposits.

Switch canCollectHats from False to True

Hats will not drop for you until you edit the script on the blue monitor mounted in the lab. The line uses your own Roblox username inside the brackets, so it reads slightly differently for everyone.

canCollectHats[YourUsername] = false

Click the False value on the screen, delete the text completely, then type True in its place and confirm. The hat objective is live the moment the value reads True.

Finding the Donation Box does not start anything on its own. If you skip the monitor and head straight into a round, no hats will appear for you to pick up.

Where the hats go: the Donation Box and progress bar

Directly opposite the monitor sits a clear glass container marked with the Roblox logo. That is the Hat Donation Box, and a yellow progress bar above it tracks how full it is. Your job is to fill that bar with 20 hats.

Only deposits move the counter. Carrying a stack of hats on your head is not progress, and hats you are holding when you leave the server are wasted.

How to collect hats during disaster rounds

Ride the podium back up to the spawn island and climb the staircase to see which map is loading. Every standard disaster map works, and there is no special mode to queue for.

Hats drop on the ground whenever another player dies, resets, or leaves the server. Walk over one to pick it up, and it stacks on your head alongside any others you are already carrying.

There is no per-round cap, unlike the three-animal limit on the regular quest. Three or more hats in a single round is realistic on a busy server, so grab every drop you can reach safely instead of stopping at one. Then survive to the end of the round so you make it back to the lobby with your haul intact.

Busy maps with lots of early eliminations produce the most drops. Prioritize hats near your own cover rather than sprinting across the map into the disaster.

Deposit 20 hats and confirm the badge

After each round ends, drop back down through the podium, walk up to the glass container, and hold E to drop each hat inside. The bar fills with a “You Contributed” readout as the deposits register.

Keep repeating the cycle of bringing another hat back until the donation box accepts number 20. After the twentieth hat goes in, a secret quest badge alert appears in the screen corner, and the Roblox 20 Secret Quest – Hat Donation Box badge is added to your profile. Wait a few seconds for it to register before exiting the server.

Claim the Personal Safety Spikes UGC behind the red barn

The wearable reward is not handed out in the lab. Leave Natural Disaster Survival and return to the 2011 area of The Hunt: Roblox 20 hub to pick it up from a hidden statue.

Enter the 2011 Natural Disaster Survival section of the hub and follow the road until you spot the red barn on the right.

Circle behind the barn, then push through the bushes and trees there. An opening in the ground leads to a hidden pocket containing the reward statue.

Approach the glowing terminal until the E to Claim prompt appears, then interact with it to receive Personal Safety Spikes.

The Hunt: Roblox 20 runs until September 28, 2026 at 1PM ET, so both halves of this route have to be finished before the event closes. If the statue does not respond after your twentieth deposit, rejoin the hub and check the barn again rather than searching the lab, since nothing else is claimable down there.
