Project Slayers 2: How to Get Max Mastery Fast

The boss quest rotations, dungeon runs, and chest farms that raise mastery quickest, plus the server conditions that double your payouts.

Mastery in Slayers 2 is the second progression bar most players ignore until their moveset stops growing. It sits with your Breathing Style, Blood Demon Art, or weapon rather than your character level, it raises your damage, and it gates the techniques you unlock. The fastest route to a maxed mastery bar is not a secret quest — it is picking the right kill source at the right level, on the right server.

Quick answer: Level to the cap at 225 first, then rotate Kasugai Crow or Muzan boss quests on a busy public server. Those rotations pay the largest mastery XP per clear.

How mastery is earned in Slayers 2

Mastery attaches to the specific Breathing Style, Blood Demon Art, or weapon you are using, and the counter appears in the bottom right of the screen while a weapon is equipped. Higher mastery means more damage and more unlocked moves. If you swap Breathing Styles, the mastery you built stays with the old one rather than being lost, so experimenting costs you time but not progress.

It also comes from combat, not from talking to people. Killing bosses and NPCs is what moves the bar, which is why every efficient farm below is really a question of how many high-value kills you can chain together in an hour.

Reach max level 225 before you grind mastery

Mastery farming gets dramatically faster once your character level is done, because the best-paying quests are the ones gated behind high levels. The practical roadmap is to run ordinary quests until level 125, at which point boss quest rewards start scaling up hard, then switch to boss hunt rotations and ride those to the cap at level 225.

Slayers also need a Kasugai Crow before any of this is possible. That comes from finishing Final Selection, which you can enter at level 45, though clearing it solo is far more realistic around level 60.

Boss quest rotations: Kasugai Crow and Muzan’s Lair

This is the main method for both factions. Slayers pull boss contracts from the Kasugai Crow, demons take theirs from Muzan’s Lair, and the structure is identical — accept a target, travel to it, kill it, collect the mastery and EXP payout, then immediately take the next one.

Method 1: Muzan and Crow Quests00:33Method 1: Muzan and Crow Quests
Muzan quests for demons and Crow quests for slayers both scale sharply once you pass level 125. Shown at 00:33 in tana’s video.

The Muzan’s Lair board lists elimination contracts such as Eliminate Serpent, Eliminate Gyorei, and Eliminate Water. On the slayer side, the crow cycles through named targets including Nezura, Datai, Akazo, and Gyutai. A clean Nezura run means taking the contract, riding out to the Final Selection Plains, killing it, and picking up the loot drops and chest rewards on the way out.

Quests can be shared, and other players taking your target off the board mid-run is a real interruption. Keep a second contract in mind so you are never standing still.

Server population changes your mastery XP payout

The same boss contract is not worth the same everywhere. Quest rewards scale with how many players are on the server and how high-leveled the opposing faction is, so a full public server pays noticeably better than a quiet private one. Slayer payouts can scale up to roughly double when the demon side is well developed.

Two ways to nudge the multiplier in your favor. You can run an alt account on the opposing faction to raise the scaling yourself, or simply hold off and let general player progression on the server push payouts up over time. Farming mobs and clearing quests on a crowded server also returns more EXP in general.

Ouwigahara dungeon runs for mid-level mastery

Before your level is high enough for the best crow contracts, dungeons are the strongest option. Access to Ouwigahara opens from the main hub menu and carries two requirements.

  • Character level 65 or higher
  • The Forge quest completed as a prerequisite
  • A workable weapon, since runs are kill-dense

Inside, you clear floors, loot chests, and use the Nichirin Forge to craft along the way. The payoff comes at the Tower Crystal EXP Area, where dungeon points are exchanged directly for mastery and EXP. A good run is worth roughly 20 to 30 levels, and a strong session can carry a character from around 100 to 150.

Dungeon returns fall off badly at the top end. Once you are sitting at 224 or 225, the point-to-EXP exchange no longer competes with a crow quest boss rotation.

Tier 3 chest NPCs in Iceveil Valley

The snowy Tundra region around Iceveil Valley holds Tier 3 chests guarded by NPCs, and clearing those guards hands over a substantial chunk of mastery. Equip the Emberheart Lantern before you head in and use a mount to cover the distance between camps, since the route between chest spawns is long.

If the guards are hitting harder than you can handle, the area doubles as a leeching spot. Tagging along with higher-level players clearing the same chest NPCs still feeds mastery into your bar, which makes this the most forgiving farm on the list for an under-leveled character.

Ranked 1v1s and PvP as a backup

Ranked 1v1 matches award percentage-based EXP on a win, which makes them a quick way to close out a level when you are short. For mastery specifically, PvP pays roughly 1,000 XP per win, so it works but it is clearly the slow lane compared with a boss rotation.

Boss farming also fills your inventory with materials and gear you do not need. Sell the pile to Ginzo at Mistfall Harbor between rotations — a full stack can clear well over half a million Wen.

Confirming your mastery is going up

Hold your weapon and watch the mastery counter in the bottom right of the screen. It should tick up after every boss kill, chest NPC clear, or dungeon point exchange. The other confirmation is your moveset — new techniques appearing as options for your current Breathing Style or Blood Demon Art means the bar has crossed an unlock threshold.

If you are picking one loop and sticking with it, the order that costs the least time is dungeons until the mid-100s, boss contracts once quest scaling kicks in past 125, and Tier 3 chests whenever the board is empty or someone has sniped your target.
