Ignitis (Highland Form) is the Dark/Fire version of Ignitis, a Nova stage DPS that fights with a pair of burning blades. Unlike a normal catch, it does not simply wander into view — the game only places one in the world after you clear out a specific number of Wisptis in its habitat.

Quick answer: At night in Blitzwood, defeat six Wisptis while controlling an Ignitis. A Highland Form Ignitis spawns right next to you after the sixth kill, and you can catch it there.

Where Ignitis (Highland Form) spawns

Both Wisptis (Highland Form) and its evolved shape live in the same two areas of Breezy Plains. Blitzwood is the easier of the two because the enemies there sit lower in level.

AreaRegionLevel range
BlitzwoodBreezy Plains40–45
Zephyrus LandbridgeBreezy Plains47–57

Blitzwood has one reliable spawn point for the Highland Form, and Zephyrus Landbridge has two. The northeast corner of Blitzwood is the densest patch of Wisptis, which matters because you need six of them.

The Highland Form of Wisptis only appears at night. Advance the clock or wait for nightfall before you travel, or the habitat will be empty of the creatures you need.

How to get Ignitis (Highland Form) by defeating six Wisptis

Set the time to night before anything else. The whole chain depends on Highland Form Wisptis being on the field, and they are a nighttime spawn.
Open the map, move to Breezy Plains, and select Blitzwood. The habitat entry there lists Wisptis (Highland Form) along with the nighttime condition, which is a quick way to confirm you are in the right place at the right time.

Put an Ignitis in your active battle party before you head out. You need to be twined as an Ignitis when the kills register, so check the party screen and make sure it is the creature you can swap into.

Travel to the northeast part of Blitzwood and look for the fiery Wisptis roaming the trees. Do not throw a capture at them — catching does not count toward the trigger, only defeating them does.

Twine into Ignitis and defeat six Wisptis in the area. Keep moving between spawn points so the count stays uninterrupted, and finish each fight rather than fleeing from it.

Stay put after the sixth kill. An Ignitis (Highland Form) drops in immediately in front of you, and you can start the fight and capture it from there.

How to confirm the catch worked

The spawn itself is the confirmation that the trigger fired — the Highland Form arrives on top of you rather than somewhere on the far side of the map, so there is no hunting involved. After the capture, open your Aniimo storage and look for Ignitis (Highland Form) as a separate entry from the base Ignitis you were controlling. Deploying it in the overworld is the final check: the Highland Form flies, and its Cloak mobility skill is available from the field menu.

Evolution route: Highland Wisptis to Ignitis at Lv. 29

If you already own a Wisptis (Highland Form), you can evolve it instead of farming a wild spawn. The conditions are strict and all of them apply at once.

Wisptis

  • Your Wisptis (Highland Form) must reach Lv. 29.
  • Defeat three Wisptis matching your Form consecutively.
  • Be in Zephyrus Landbridge when the evolution triggers.
  • Pay the cost of Night Stone x1.

The “in succession” part matters. Breaking the streak with another creature or a lost fight means starting the three-kill run over.

Ignitis (Highland Form) stats, skills, and matchups

The jump from Wisptis to Ignitis lifts every stat, with the biggest gains in defense and energy regen. Both forms share the Dark and Fire elements and the DPS role.

Its trait, Battle Fervor, grants a stack of Battlelust on every kill, raising damage by 25% for 20 seconds and stacking twice. That pairs directly with the stacking hits on its two spin attacks.

  • Scythe Dance — Dark spin attack hitting all nearby targets, each hit adding 4% damage up to 32% for 10 seconds. EP cost 20.
  • Forest Whirl — the same spin pattern in the Grass element, with the same 4% per hit ramp. EP cost 20.
  • Dark Soul — teleports to a target and strikes; below 50% enemy HP it gains 1% damage per 1% HP lost, and a kill grants a brief free recast.
  • Dark Dash — a shadow tackle that raises basic attack damage by 40% for 10 seconds.
  • Fire Dash — a flame tackle that grants Super Armor for 5 seconds after casting.
  • Dimension Rupture — the ultimate, dealing heavy Physical damage.

On defense, it takes 1.6x damage from wind, water, holy and dark attacks, and cuts grass, fire, rock and ice attacks to 0.625x. Keep it off the field against wind and water teams, and lean on it against fire and grass enemies. Its Fly Lv. 2 pathfinding and Cloak mobility also make it useful outside combat, and its homeland abilities cover Artisanship Lv. 3, Fire Lv. 2 and Dark Lv. 3.

The same six-kill trigger applies to Ignitis (Forest Form)

Ignitis comes in four forms — Basic, Forest, Prismana and Highland — and the Forest Form uses the same spawn pattern in a different place. You first need the Alpha Ignitis from Beryline Vale at Lv. 47, then travel to Mistwoods and defeat six Wisptis while controlling Ignitis.

Once caught, the Forest Form appears in the party menu as its own entry and can be deployed in the open world like any other Aniimo.

Between the two routes, the wild spawn is the faster one — six fights in Blitzwood at night beats levelling a Wisptis to 29 and holding a three-kill streak in Zephyrus Landbridge. Keep a Night Stone on hand anyway if you plan to raise a Highland Wisptis of your own later.
