Book Inventory is one of the earliest tasks Alliance characters pick up in Northshire Valley, and it is a pure delivery quest. There is nothing to kill and nothing to loot. You just need to walk into Northshire Abbey and find the right person standing in the right corner.
Quick answer: Turn in Book Inventory to Daniel <Librarian’s Assistant>, who stands beside a bookshelf in the Library Wing of Northshire Abbey.

Add to Google Preferences →Book Inventory rewards and how to confirm the turn-in
The payout is intentionally tiny, because this is a low-level introduction quest that exists mainly to point you at the abbey’s librarians. You will know it worked when the completion dialogue closes and the reward text appears.
- 15 experience
- 5 copper
- Book Inventory clears from your quest log
If the quest is still sitting in your log after talking to Daniel, you clicked past the accept button on the completion window. Speak to him again and confirm the turn-in.
Pick up Hallowed Letter before you leave the Library Wing
Daniel is not the end of the chain. A few steps away in the same room is Brother Paxton <Librarian>, who offers the follow-up quest Hallowed Letter. Grab it while you are already standing there, then head back out through the Main Hall toward the exit.

Not the same thing: Book It to the Library on Isle of Dorn
Searches for library quests often land people on a very different objective. Book It to the Library is a level 80 world quest on the Isle of Dorn, with Lady Jaina Proudmoore narrating over the dialogue box. It has combat and collection steps, so if your tracker is asking you to gather tomes, you are on that one instead.

| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Zone | Isle of Dorn |
| Level | 80 world quest |
| Objective 1 | 6 lost tomes collected |
| Objective 2 | 1 Babbling Book slain |
| Experience | 11,750 |
The tomes are the glowing purple Arcane Tomes scattered on the ground across the area. Flying over the terrain and sweeping them up is the fastest way to push the counter from 1/6 to 6/6.

The second half is a single hostile mob, the Babbling Book, sitting up a rocky path near coordinates 55.45, 57.45. Kill it and the World Quest Complete banner fires along with Jaina’s closing line.

For the Northshire version, the whole thing is a sixty-second detour: walk in, find Daniel by the bookshelf, hand it in, and take Hallowed Letter from Brother Paxton on your way back out.
