Somniwing is the Wind/Grass REGEN Aniimo sitting at No. 030 in the Aniilog, and it is one of the few creatures in Aniimo you cannot catch, hatch, or evolve into. It exists purely as a reward, and the reward is a battery: a support that raises the team’s maximum EP just by being on the roster and refills that EP with two cheap skills.

Quick answer: Somniwing is unlocked by completing 180 objectives in Elite Training. Any objective from any of the five tabs counts. There is no wild spawn, egg, or evolution route.

How to get Somniwing: 180 Elite Training objectives

Elite Training is a long-running objective board rather than a one-off event, and Somniwing sits on its milestone track at 180 completed objectives. Nothing has to be completed in a specific tab, so you can chip away at whichever lists match how you already play.

  • Core Courses — catching Aniimo and clearing main story missions.
  • Path of Twining — catching, collecting, leveling, and training specific Aniimo.
  • Path of Discovery — exploration, side quests, and sanctum completion.
  • Path of Victory — defeating bosses and other Pathfinders.
  • Path of Splendor — raising RV rank and building friendships with other players.

You will know it worked when the 180 milestone flips on the Elite Training track and Somniwing joins your roster, filling the No. 030 slot in the Aniilog between Mountain Woods Gracewing and Eko. Because it is a single-stage form with no alternate versions, the one you receive is the final one.

Somniwing base stats, element, and the Energy Full trait

The stat spread is built around one number. REGEN 115 is the highest value on the sheet and sits near the very top of the roster, while Break and Attack are deliberately weak. Total base stats come to 538.

Its trait, Energy Full, raises maximum EP by 10 and applies as soon as Somniwing is slotted into a team. It does not need field time for that bonus, and the rest of the squad keeps the extra EP ceiling while Somniwing sits on the bench.

Dual typing cuts both ways. Somniwing takes 1.6x damage from Fire, Lightning, and Light, and reduces Water, Grass, and Earth damage to 0.625x. It also has Fly Lv. 2, which clears terrain other Aniimo cannot, though flying makes it easier for ranged attacks to punish.

Somniwing abilities and what each skill does

Somniwing has three combat skills plus an innate Ultimate, and a ranged magic basic attack. Only two skill slots are active at a time, so the choice is between energy support and crowd control.

Ethereal Light Wave

This is the skill that justifies the slot. It costs nothing, comes back every 15 seconds, and sends a wave forward that absorbs enemy projectiles while raising the EP recovery rate of any teammate caught in its path for 20 seconds. The buff scales off Somniwing’s REGEN, which is exactly why you stack that stat.

Hypnotic Spores

On hit, Hypnotic Spores puts the target to Sleeping for 5 seconds and increases the damage it takes by 25%. It costs 20 EP and has an 18-second cooldown. The catch is that sleep breaks the moment the target takes any damage, so it works as a setup window or a panic button, not a damage buff you can layer under a full rotation.

Hypnotic Spores does nothing to Grass-type Aniimo. They are immune to the Sleeping effect entirely.

Energy Orb

Energy Orb gathers a ball of energy above the target and drops it, and holding the skill button charges it. Every 0.6 seconds of charge spends 10 Energy for a bigger hit, up to four times. The five stages deal damage equal to 1x, 2x, 3x, 4.5x, and 6x Might, so a full charge is worth six times an uncharged tap. It is the only real damage in the kit, with 30 power, a 10 EP cost, and a 1-second cooldown.

Butterfly Dance (Ultimate)

Somniwing flies up and restores EP to the team on a 20-second cooldown, and the amount scales with its REGEN stat. In practice it tops the party back up almost completely, which makes it a waste when the team is already above half EP. Hold it for the moment a rotation stalls, and lean on Ethereal Light Wave the rest of the time.

Best Somniwing build: skills, stats, personality, and held item

Run Ethereal Light Wave and Energy Orb as the two active skills, with Butterfly Dance as the Ultimate. Hypnotic Spores is the swap-in when a fight demands crowd control, but a free, repeatable EP buff beats a sleep that breaks on the first hit.

Attribute investment is lopsided on purpose. Somniwing spends a couple of seconds on the field per rotation, so offense and Break do nothing for it.

The target personality is ISTJ, giving REGEN +4%, DMG +4%, P.DEF +6%, and HP +4%. Only the I and the J matter much for a pure support, so an imperfect roll is fine as long as those two letters land. For potential, put the points into Energy.

The best held item is the Legendary Spirited Feather. Its core effect grants 0.7 extra REGEN per level, Tier 1 adds REGEN +2, and Tier 2 gives 10% cooldown reduction that doubles when REGEN is above 15. Auspicious Bell is the fallback, offering REGEN plus a 20% chance to restore 5 EP whenever a skill is used.

Skip the held item contract. The boosted version of Ethereal Light Wave only returns 5 EP to Somniwing itself, which is not worth the investment.

Best Somniwing teams and rotation

Somniwing belongs on any squad whose damage dealer burns EP faster than it generates it, or that needs a long setup before a burst window. Because Energy Full works from the bench and both EP skills fire in seconds, it steals almost no field time from the carry.

Earth coreGrizbo, Minespine, Bailite

The rotation itself is short. Lead with your other supports to land their buffs or debuffs, hand the field to the DPS for its damage sequence, then tag Somniwing in only when EP starts running dry. Cast Ethereal Light Wave so the wave passes through your team, fire Butterfly Dance if EP has dropped below half, and swap straight back out.

Somniwing Homeland jobs

When Somniwing is not in the active team, it earns its keep at home. Its Homeland abilities are Grass Lv. 4, Leisure Lv. 4, and Wind Lv. 3, so it can plant seeds, gather resources, and help produce items at facilities such as Farmland, Woodland, the Floral Windmill, and the Carousel Mill. Grass is its strongest assignment.

Somniwing

That split is a fair summary of Somniwing overall. It will never carry a fight, and its Break and Attack numbers make that clear, but a support that raises the whole team’s EP ceiling from the bench and refills it in two seconds on the field is worth the 180 objectives it takes to unlock.
