Operation: Egg Heist is Aniimo’s extraction mode, and it plays by rules the rest of the game never asks you to learn. You drop onto the Lost Isles with a backpack, dig a rare egg out of a guarded nest, roll it back to the shore, and leave before something kills you. Faint on the way out and the run keeps everything you were carrying.

Quick answer: Reach Veteran Pathfinder, queue Team Mode on Normal, submit one egg or hit your personal Eggshell Coin target at the Egg Boat, then trigger safe evacuation before the 30-minute timer runs out.

How to unlock Operation: Egg Heist in Aniimo

Egg Heist opens at the Veteran Pathfinder rank. Everything inside it — the Ancient Harbor spawn beach, the Lost Isles surface, the Lost Sanctum interior — runs at level 50, which is why the mode sits late in Aniimo’s progression rather than alongside early story content.

Egg Heist has two queues, and confusing them can cost you an entire loadout. In Team Mode, a cooperative raid sends one to three Pathfinders from a single team through Normal, Hard or Nightmare. Operation is the competitive queue: several teams land on one island and fight over the same objective. Start by learning the island in Team Mode.

The death rule: what you lose when you faint

Fainting forfeits your backpack, everything inside it, and the Egg Heist gear you had equipped. Solo, there is nobody to revive you, so a bad trap room ends the run outright. The Adventure Failed screen will show zero loot retained.

Two things soften that. New players get Beginner Protection for three matches, during which fainting does not cost you the contents of your backpack — use those runs to learn the layout and the enemy damage, not to hoard. After that, the only permanent safety net is the Egg Boat Safe, a talent that unlocks Safe slots whose contents survive a failed run.

Safe storage is not usable inventory. Put a spare key in your bag before approaching a locked door, and leave the key in the Safe until you need it.

Egg Heist gear: backpacks, amplifiers, units and chips

Egg Heist uses its own equipment set that never leaves the mode. A backpack carries loot, an Energy Amplifier drives your damage, a BINI Unit handles defense, and chips socket into the better amplifiers and units for extra bonuses. Gear also has durability, and repairs cost Eggshell Coins.

Your backpack determines the amount you can carry out in practice. If you die without a backup, the mode replaces it with the four-slot default bag, so store an inexpensive spare.

Capacity is limited by both space and weight. Once the bag is overloaded, movement stops until you discard something; check the load meter and preview ground drops before picking them up. Grey junk consumes slots as well as kilograms.

Each Experimental Amplifier and Experimental Unit costs 5,000 Eggshell Coins and is intended for Normal. Chips cannot be used with either one. Epic-tier equipment, including the Tactical Amplifier and Guardian Unit, provides chip sockets, but a chip must match the socket type — a Low-Level Resistance Chip cannot fill an incompatible slot.

Everything above is forfeit on a faint. Bring the strongest loadout you can comfortably replace, not the most expensive one you own.

Team setup: one fighter and three support cooldowns

Egg Heist still uses four Aniimo, but it does not behave like a normal battle team. Your first slot is the Aniimo you Twine with and fight as for the entire run, so it should be levelled and geared. The other three pop out, fire one signature ability, and disappear again on their own cooldowns.

  • Glacy — single-target heal on a 20 second cooldown, usable out of combat
  • Leafy — healing zone that covers the whole team
  • Dazmand — damage buff for burst windows
  • Magmarex — breaks cracked walls, lights fire pillars, and makes a durable main fighter

Bring at least one healer. Elemental pillars inside the Sanctum only respond to a matching element, so a spread of elements opens routes a mono-element team cannot. Heal on cooldown rather than at low health, since a 20 second timer is short enough to keep you topped up between fights.

Egg Heist uses a separate saved roster. Inspect the deployed team before queueing, or the mode may use the lineup you last had out while exploring.

How a Team Mode run works, start to extraction

Queue Team Mode on Normal and spawn at Ancient Harbor with a 30-minute timer and your Egg Boat on the beach. Check the escape conditions listed on the left of the screen — usually one submitted egg or a personal Eggshell Coin target.
Farm the shoreline first. Beach Aniimo, wooden chests and clutter piles offer reliable, safe income, but no area beyond the Sanctum can equal its damage. During a careful first trip, sell the beach loot, deposit the coins, and leave every egg behind.
Bring up the map and choose an entrance. The main route places you in the shallower area; the side route puts you directly in the depths, nearer the better rooms and more dangerous fights.

Finish clearing each room before opening its chests. Inspecting one takes a second or two, and a guardian can interrupt you, so stop searching and retreat as soon as one attacks. Break boulders, walls with cracks and doors with cracks; they can conceal chests or complete side rooms.
Deal with locked gates and traps. A barred chamber opens with a Rusted Iron Key, Silver-Plated Key or Gilded Key. Runs can provide these keys, the shop sells them, and Weslowe — the black market vendor found inside the Sanctum — can sell them too. Each hit from floor spikes or wall jets deals 500 to 1,000 damage, while a jet can push you onto the spikes.
Find an active egg nest — a broad black mound in a guarded room — and clear every enemy around it before you interact. Hold the dig prompt until the egg surfaces.
Twine with the egg to take control of it. Your fighter’s equipment is replaced by a slow roll, a jump and a dash with a long cooldown. Because untwining happens instantly, leave the egg form to fight anything blocking the route, then Twine again.
Use the destination mechanism to bring up the exit portal, then leave through either that portal or the entrance used to enter. Mark the exit on the map before collecting the egg; rolling as an egg is slower and less manageable than walking.

Bring the egg to the Egg Boat and submit it. The boat accepts several eggs, so if the clock allows, go back and collect one from another nest. Then interact with the boat again, select Safe Evacuation, and confirm.

You know it worked when the Adventure Successful screen appears with your egg count, total loot value and rank progress. Only a safe evacuation banks the run — submitted eggs are shared across the whole team afterwards, and a failed evacuation leaves players with far less. A focused Normal run takes roughly eight minutes.

Sanctum layouts and egg nest locations

The outer Lost Isles map never changes, letting you learn the harbor, Egg Boat and major island landmarks for future runs. The Lost Sanctum is different: it has several internal variants, with rooms, connections and routes rearranged between runs.

Egg nests are not scattered at random either. They sit at 10 preset nest markers — seven regular locations and three that only appear in PvP. Because the layout shifts, the nest you can actually reach varies, so there is no single room worth rushing every match. Learn to recognise room types, mechanisms and locked doors instead of memorising turns.

Difficulty tiers and entry ranks

DifficultyEntry rankReward tier
NormalNoneUncommon
HardRising Egg Scout IIIRare
NightmarePro Egg Snatcher IVEpic

Let your equipment determine when you advance, rather than your rank. Hard calls for the epic amplifier and unit, both fitted with chips, plus a main Aniimo at roughly level 55 to 60. Nightmare calls for the best shop gear or a coordinated premade, since one death loses the whole loadout.

Launch also added Chaos Mode as a higher-difficulty tier. Its entry requirements and rewards are best read off the in-game panel. One thing worth clearing up: Nightmare does not turn on PvP. Normal, Hard and Nightmare all belong to cooperative Team Mode, and player-versus-player fighting happens only in the separate competitive Operation queue.

Umbral eggs and what hatching actually gives you

The rare rarity you want is Umbral. Every Umbral Aniimo comes with Perfect Innate Potential and dark colouring. Evolution or a form change removes the dark appearance, while Perfect Potential remains.

Extracted eggs do not appear in your bag after the match. They arrive in your in-game Mailbox, and you claim them from there. Take the egg to the Outpost Hatchinator, feed it Anipods, and hatch it — the Shell Shards it produces go toward the Prismana egg exchange.

Eggshell Coins, shop prices and first talents to buy

Eggshell Coins are the mode’s currency, earned by selling everything you extract. Higher-rarity salvage sells for far more, which is why previewing a drop before you pick it up is worth the second it costs.

Energy stones in the Repair Kit tab restore a depleted amplifier or unit during a run, consuming durability to do so. Keys can also be found within the Sanctum, making purchases a shortcut to locked rooms rather than the sole option.

Talents are permanent and split across two trees, Personal Growth and Egg Boat Upgrade, paid for with Eggshell Coins and Blue Essence. There are 28 of them, covering damage, stamina, faster searching, carrying capacity, egg durability while Twined, shop discounts and a self-revive for multiplayer runs. Buy Egg Boat Safe first — it is the only node that adds a new protection mechanic instead of a stat — then carry capacity and faster looting.

Early on, essences are more valuable than loot. Look for a tall blue or purple light pillar, which identifies one; the talent tree can consume every essence you successfully carry out.

After the fundamentals become familiar, Egg Heist mainly tests whether you know when to leave. Rank progression — from Rookie Egg Hunter toward Egg Emperor — advances only after a live evacuation, and extracting an egg with a full bag already makes a solid run. Choose deliberately if you stay for another room; do not do it automatically.
