The power is dead when Simon first walks into Zoe’s house in Silent Hill: Townfall, which means the computer in the living room stays dark and the emails you need for the Human Organ Box stay out of reach. The meter under the stairs runs on a prepaid card, and there is exactly one of those nearby: a £5 Electricard sitting in a cash register at Peter’s Newsagent.

Quick answer: Grab the Prepaid Power Card from the cash register inside Peter’s Newsagent, entered through the back fire exit, then insert it into the meter in the crawlspace under Zoe’s stairs.

What you need before leaving Zoe’s house

The trip is short, but going out unprepared makes it harder than it needs to be. Sort these three things first.

  • A working flashlight. The torch is in a kitchen drawer, the AA batteries are in the drawer of the small table in the upstairs room on the left, and you combine them from the key items tab in your inventory.
  • The Electricard Credit Guide, found on the floor of the crawlspace beside the staircase. Reading it makes Simon mark the newsagent on your map and it lists the meter sequence for later.
  • Your CRTV. Simon has no weapon yet, and the handheld set is the only way to see where the creature in the back alley is before you commit to a route.

Electricards are sold at any local newsagent, which is why the guide note is what unlocks the map marker. Skip the note and you are wandering St. Amelia’s fog with no destination.

Electricard location: The cash register in Peter’s Newsagent

Leave Zoe’s house and cross straight over to the entrance for “The Mariner”. Walk through the passage and take the right-hand turn on the far side. This is the alley route that leads toward the Shorefront and the shop.
Move slowly. Your first enemy patrols this stretch and it does not follow a fixed path, so pull up the CRTV, read the outline, stay crouched, and use the cobblestone walls and railings as cover until it turns away.

Ignore the shop’s front door. It is locked, and the note pinned beside it asks for deliveries to be brought around the back. Head to the large opening between the two buildings next to the newsagent to reach the rear alley.
Go through the green fire exit door standing open at the back. It drops you into a dark interior hallway, out of the creature’s line of sight.

Take the first room on the left to step out into the shop floor, then move behind the counter and open the cash register drawer. The £5 Electricard Prepaid Power Card is inside.

With the Plank in hand you can fight the creature outside, but you do not have to. Unlocking the newsagent’s front door from the inside opens a clean route back toward Zoe’s house without passing through the alley again.

How to use the Electricard on the meter under the stairs

Back at the house, crouch and crawl into the low opening beside the staircase. Turn the flashlight on with R3 if the box is too dark to read, then interact with the circuit board.

Place the Electricard in the slot immediately below buttons A and B.
Press button A repeatedly to cycle the terminal’s options until the display reads Card Credit £5.00.
Press button B once to apply that credit to the meter.
Flip the red master power switch over to “On”.

Pressing B before the display actually shows the £5.00 credit line applies nothing. Cycle with A first, confirm the number on screen, then commit.

How to confirm the power is back on

You will know it worked the moment you crawl back out. Electricity is restored across the whole house, so head to the living room and switch on the computer. If the machine boots and you can open Zoe’s emails, the meter took the credit and the section is done.

The errand ultimately leads to those emails: they reveal how to open the locked Human Organ Box in the kitchen. Inside the box is Zoe’s Lanyard, which lets Simon enter the clinic across St. Amelia.
