GPO Thunder Club: Kaido’s Mace Moveset and Best Stat Spreads

Every Thunder Club skill, where the mace drops, and the Strength and Defense splits players run with it.

The Thunder Club is the spiked mace modeled on Kaido, and it has quietly become one of the more decisive melee picks in Grand Piece Online. It hits hard, it has a built-in aerial grab, and it scales off a stat spread that is easy to rebuild mid-match when the game resets your points. The catch is that you need to know where it comes from and which keys do what before you commit a full build to it.

Quick answer: The Thunder Club drops from the Dragon Emperor dungeon boss and from Battle Royale loot. Its four skills are Thunder Bagua (E), Direct Destruction (R), Tyrant’s Roar (Z) and Brutal Upswing (X).

Thunder Club moveset in GPO (E, R, Z and X skills)

All four skills are melee-range and animate off a baseball-bat style swing. There are no projectiles to learn and no charge-ups to time.

KeySkillWhat it does
EThunder BaguaMulti-hit electrical strike, heavy crit damage
RDirect DestructionDownward ground slam with purple shockwaves
ZTyrant’s RoarDashing rush with knockback
XBrutal UpswingLaunches you and the target up, then slams down

Thunder Bagua is the damage button and lands its full string on an opponent who rushes straight at you. Brutal Upswing is the control button, because it grabs a target out of the air and drags them back to the ground. That makes it the answer to evasive players who float, swim or Geppo away mid-fight.

Tyrant’s Roar doubles as a gap closer. Use it to cross the last stretch of ground before starting a Thunder Bagua string rather than opening with it.

How to get the Thunder Club

There are two reliable routes, and they serve different purposes. The dungeon route gives you a permanent copy. The Battle Royale route gives you the mace for one match only.

Dungeon drop: Defeat the Dragon Emperor dungeon boss. On a successful drop you get a “New Item: Thunder Club” notification, often alongside the MVP notice for the run.

Battle Royale loot: The Thunder Club appears in the match loot pool. It turns up on eliminated players and in chest and gift drops, so knocking someone out is frequently the fastest way to pick it up. Logue Town is a common landing spot for players hunting it early.

Eliminations drop their loot on the spot, including Spirit Essence and any weapon the player was carrying. Shown at 02:34 in Rozzande’s video.

Weapon and fruit drops land in the same pile, so the run that hands you the mace often hands you a Devil Fruit too. Buddha, Biscuit and Mochi all show up this way.

Thunder Club stat spreads for Battle Royale and Arena

The mace is a Strength weapon, and every working spread leans on Strength first with Defense close behind. Stamina stays low. These are the splits players run with it.

Arena (Dragon build)730140575

The Arena build also puts 500 into Devil Fruit and 55 into Gun Mastery, because the Dragon hybrid abilities carry part of the damage there. In Battle Royale, leftover points go into Defense and Fighting Style Mastery instead.

Battle Royale fires a system alert that resets your skill points partway through a match, usually as the red zone starts to constrict. Open the Statistics panel and reassign immediately, or you will fight the endgame with no stats at all.

Devil Fruit and item pairings for the Thunder Club

The mace covers close range and nothing else, so the pairings that work are the ones that solve mobility, healing or vertical pressure.

  • Dragon-Dragon: Hybrid form, Dragon Claw, Hellfire Ray and Thunderclap Veil, the standard Kaido-style Arena pairing.
  • Biscuit: Graham Slam and Biscuit Crasher add crushing area damage and terrain to fight around.
  • Soul King’s Guitar: In-fight healing between club strings.
  • Sky Walk or Geppo: Bought from a vending machine, and the only way to reach rooftop and airborne targets.
  • Spirit Essence: Absorb it to learn Haki.

Cosmetics such as the Dragon Emperor’s Cape and the Mochi Emperor’s Scarf finish the look, and worn gear like Roger’s Outfit contributes Stamina and Strength buffs you can check in the Wearables inventory.

Using the Thunder Club as the Battle Royale zone shrinks

Height is the main asset. Rooftops and tall pillars keep you out of ground-level magma pools and area-of-effect bombardment, and they let you open a fight by dropping onto someone with an aerial skill instead of walking into their combo. Scaling a central pillar is a common answer to sustained ranged pressure, since anyone who follows you up arrives alone and in slam range.

In duos, the mace pairs well with a rooftop setup. One player holds the ledge while the other baits a fight below, then the club user drops in with an aerial string. Over water, Brutal Upswing is the cleanest way to punish swimmers and anyone hovering near the map perimeter.

Once the ring closes to a narrow circle, the mace is at its strongest, because there is nowhere for a ranged opponent to retreat to. Winning runs on the club regularly close out with a Thunder Bagua string or a final downward slam, and match reports on strong games have shown figures around 16,057 player damage with 8 eliminations and MVP.

How to confirm the Thunder Club is equipped

Check three things. The Thunder Club appears in your backpack inventory, the spiked mace is visible in your character’s hands, and your skill keys read Thunder Bagua, Direct Destruction, Tyrant’s Roar and Brutal Upswing instead of your previous weapon’s moves. If the mace is in the bag but the skill names have not changed, it is not the active weapon yet.

For the dungeon drop specifically, the “New Item: Thunder Club” banner is the confirmation that it entered your account rather than being a one-match pickup. After that, the only thing left is to spend your points into Strength and Defense and get close enough to use them.
