Four separate quests in Tirisfal Glades share the same name, all start with the same undead officer, and all send you after the Scarlet Crusade. That repetition trips people up, because your quest log fills with identical entries that have completely different objectives.
Quick answer: Executor Zygand in Brill hands out all four stages. Kill 10 Scarlet Warriors, then Captain Perrine’s group, then a third assignment, and finish by assassinating Captain Melrache and two bodyguards.
All four stages of the Scarlet Crusade chain
Every stage is a Horde quest in Tirisfal Glades, requires level 5, and is sharable with party members. Each one also pays 100 reputation with Undercity on turn-in.
| Stage | Level | Objective | XP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (quest 427) | 8 | 10 Scarlet Warriors | 700 |
| 2 (quest 370) | 9 | Captain Perrine, 3 Zealots, 3 Missionaries | 780 |
| 3 (quest 371) | 10 | Turn-in to Zygand | 840 |
| 4 (quest 372) | 12 | Captain Melrache, 2 Scarlet Bodyguards | 910 |
Coin and item payouts differ by stage. Stage 1 pays 2 silver 25 copper, stage 2 pays 3 silver, stage 3 pays 3 silver 50 copper, and stage 4 swaps coin for a weapon choice. On Season of Mastery realms the experience values are higher: 975, 1,080, and 1,260 for stages 1, 2, and 4.

Every quest in the chain begins and ends with Executor Zygand in Brill, the Forsaken town east of Deathknell. He opens with the intelligence recovered from Executor Arren, the documents that pinpoint Scarlet Crusade positions across Tirisfal Glades, and then starts assigning targets.
You only need to be level 5 to accept the first one, though the objectives are tuned for levels 8 through 12. None of the fighting takes you out of Tirisfal Glades.
All four quests are sharable, so anyone in your group on the same stage can pick it up directly from you instead of running back to Brill.
Stage 1: Kill 10 Scarlet Warriors west of Brill
Zygand sends you west to the ruined tower past the Solliden Farmstead. Scarlet Warriors are spread across the farmland and the outpost itself, and the area sits north of Deathknell and west of Brill on the zone map.

Your objective tracker updates to 10/10 Scarlet Warrior slain and the quest is flagged as complete. Run back east to Brill and hand it in to Zygand for the 2 silver 25 copper, 700 experience, and Undercity reputation.
Stage 2: Captain Perrine, Zealots, and Missionaries
The second assignment sends you to the ruined tower southwest of Brill, where the Crusade stationed Captain Perrine and his brigade. Three separate counters have to fill before the quest completes.
- Captain Perrine slain (1)
- Scarlet Zealot slain (3)
- Scarlet Missionary slain (3)
Zealots are the most common of the three in the area, while Missionaries are scattered more thinly, so check your tracker before you leave. Turning in gives 780 experience and 3 silver.
Stage 3: The level 10 assignment
The third quest in the series is a level 10 entry, still picked up from and returned to Executor Zygand in Brill, still inside Tirisfal Glades. It pays 840 experience and 3 silver 50 copper, plus the usual 100 Undercity reputation, and it unlocks the final assignment.
Stage 4: Assassinate Captain Melrache
The last quest is the one worth waiting for. Scarlet raiders have been operating out of the ruined tower in northern Tirisfal, past Faol’s Rest, under a commander named Captain Melrache. Zygand wants him and his escort dead.
- Captain Melrache slain (1)
- Scarlet Bodyguard slain (2)
Melrache does not stand alone, so pull carefully or bring help. The quest is rated for level 12 and pays 910 experience with no coin. Instead you pick one of two weapons at turn-in.
- Ceremonial Knife
- Striking Hatchet
Check whether you already finished a stage
Because all four quests carry the same title, the fastest way to tell which ones you have already cleared is a chat command. Paste it in and the client prints true or false for that quest ID.
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(427))
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(370))
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(371))
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(372))
Quest 427 is the Scarlet Warrior stage, 370 is Captain Perrine, 371 is the level 10 step, and 372 is Captain Melrache. A true result means that stage is already banked on your character.
The Cataclysm version is a different quest
If you are playing modern WoW rather than Classic, the quest with this name is a single entry, not a chain, and it comes from High Executor Derrington rather than Zygand. It asks you to slay 3 Scarlet Zealots and 4 Scarlet Friars at the Crusader Outpost north of the Balnir Farmstead in southeastern Tirisfal, where Captain Vachon commands the raiders.
That version pays 775 experience, 3 silver, and +250 reputation with Undercity. It follows East… Always to the East and leads into A Deadly New Ally, and it was reworked in Patch 4.0.3a on November 23rd, 2010.
So the name you type into your quest log tells you almost nothing on its own. Check the level, the giver, and the kill targets, and the four Classic entries sort themselves out quickly.
