Fields of Grief is the Forsaken’s idea of an introductory errand: go west, kill some humans, and steal their pumpkins. It is a short fetch quest in Tirisfal Glades, but it opens the New Plague chain that runs through the rest of the starting zone, so skipping it costs you the follow-ups.
Quick answer: Take Fields of Grief from Apothecary Johaan at Calston Estate, loot 10 Tirisfal Pumpkins at Solliden Farmstead northwest of Deathknell, then run back to Johaan to hand them in.

Johaan stands on the ground floor of Calston Estate, and he is both the start and the end point. Vital Intelligence can lead you to him, but it is optional, so you can walk in and pick the quest up cold.
Solliden Farmstead location in Tirisfal Glades
The pumpkins only grow at Solliden Farmstead, the fenced farm on the northwestern side of Deathknell. From Calston Estate, that is a straight run west-northwest across the fields. Open your map before you set off and the farmstead sits clearly marked above and to the left of Deathknell.
Everything you need is inside the fence line. The pumpkins sit in rows on the ground, and hostile Tirisfal Farmers and Tirisfal Farmhands patrol between them.
How to collect 10 Tirisfal Pumpkins
Watch the counter rather than your bags. It ticks up one at a time — 2/10, 3/10, 4/10 — and once it reads 10/10, nothing else at the farmstead matters for this quest.
Grab Reaping the Reapers before you leave the estate, and check upstairs for Ever So Lonely from Sedrick Calston. Both point you in the same direction, so you can clear them on one trip.
Turning in Fields of Grief to Apothecary Johaan
With 10 pumpkins in your bags, head southeast back through Tirisfal Glades to Calston Estate and talk to Apothecary Johaan again. He asks whether you managed to gather the pumpkins; complete the dialogue and the quest closes out.
You know it worked when three things happen together. Johaan tells you that you are proving to be an asset to the Dark Lady’s army, you pocket 1 silver 25 copper along with 410 XP and 250 Undercity reputation, and he immediately offers Variety is the Spice of Death. That follow-up leads into Johaan’s Experiment, which finishes the New Plague branch of the Tirisfal chain.
Fields of Grief in Classic: Deathguard Simmer and the Laced Pumpkin
The Classic version is a different quest with the same name, and it runs in two parts instead of one. Deathguard Simmer starts it, and you deliver the pumpkins to Johaan in Brill rather than at Calston Estate. It is a level 7 quest that requires level 4.

For part two, take a Laced Pumpkin to the Captured Scarlet Zealot in the cellar beneath the Gallow’s End Tavern. In Season of Mastery, completing this first leg awards 870 XP.
The modern version replaced the Classic one in Patch 4.0.3a, which is why the old quest still lingers in retail databases marked as obsolete. If you are levelling through Tirisfal Glades today, Johaan at Calston Estate is the only version you will see.
