World of Warcraft Forever: The Haunted Mills Quest Guide

Exact spawn coordinates for Devlin Agamand, the loot you need, and where to hand in Devlin's Remains.

Exact spawn coordinates for Devlin Agamand, the loot you need, and where to hand in Devlin’s Remains.

The Haunted Mills is a short Horde kill-and-loot quest in Tirisfal Glades that trips people up for one reason: the target wanders. Devlin Agamand does not stand still at a fixed spot inside Agamand Mills, so players run past him and assume the spawn is bugged. He is usually on or near the road, and he is easy to spot once you know what to look for.

Quick answer: Kill Devlin Agamand, who roams the road into Agamand Mills around 47,41 in Tirisfal Glades, loot Devlin’s Remains, and return them to Coleman Farthing in Brill.

The Haunted Mills quest requirements and rewards

Coleman Farthing in Brill hands out the quest and also takes the turn-in. You need to be level 7 before he will offer it, and it is flagged as a level 10 quest.

Where to find Devlin Agamand in Tirisfal Glades

Agamand Mills sits northwest of Brill, on the far side of the hills. Follow the road out of town and keep heading north until the road bends and the first windmill comes into view. Devlin patrols this stretch rather than the deep interior of the mills.

The commonly reported coordinates sit in a tight cluster, which reflects how far he drifts on his route:

  • 47,41 — the most frequently confirmed spot
  • 47,40 — slightly further up the road
  • 46,40 — the western end of his walk
  • 48,42 — closer to the bend coming in from Brill

He is often just off the left side of the path rather than on it, so do not stick rigidly to the road. Among the Rattlecage Soldiers standing around that area, Devlin is the one with the glowing neck. If he is nowhere in that cluster, another player has already killed him and you simply need to wait for the respawn.

How to kill Devlin Agamand and loot Devlin’s Remains

Pick up The Haunted Mills from Coleman Farthing in Brill. The objective tracker will show Devlin’s Remains at 0/1, and the quest marker points northwest toward the mills.
Run north out of Brill along the road toward Agamand Mills. Rattlecage Soldiers begin appearing right after the bend in the road, which is your signal that you are in the correct area.

Clear any Rattlecage Soldiers that pull you on the way in. They are ordinary trash for this level range and drop small amounts of copper along with items such as Notched Rib, so there is no reason to avoid them.

Sweep the bend and the ground just left of the windmill. If Devlin is not on the road itself, push toward the centre of Agamand Mills and circle back, since his patrol loops through that space.

Attack Devlin. He shouts “Here to visit the family? Die, fool!” when he engages, and he is a straightforward melee fight with no special mechanics.
Loot his body. Devlin’s Remains is a guaranteed drop, and it usually comes alongside a few copper and Linen Cloth. The tracker flips to Devlin’s Remains 1/1 the moment the item lands in your bags.

The quest is shareable, so anyone in your party who has hit level 7 can take it from you and loot their own copy of the remains from the same kill cycle.

Turning in The Haunted Mills and confirming completion

Ride back southeast to Brill and speak to Coleman Farthing again. Once the quest is complete, the world map shows the turn-in marker over Brill rather than over the mills, and Coleman’s icon switches to a question mark.

You will know it worked when the quest drops out of your log, the experience bar ticks up by 420, and you gain 50 reputation with Undercity. If you want to double-check later, run this in-game:

/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(362))

A returned value of true means the quest is recorded as finished on that character.

The Dargol’s Skull version of The Haunted Mills

A second version of the quest with the same name exists, and it works completely differently. There is no quest giver to talk to. Instead, the quest starts from an item, and you can pick it up at any level.

Go to the crypt in Tirisfal Glades, around 52,27, and fight down to the bottom level. Captain Dargol is the target, and he respawns on a normal timer if someone beat you to him.
Kill Captain Dargol and loot Dargol’s Skull. Right-click the skull in your bags to open the quest window, then accept The Haunted Mills.

Climb the stone stairs back out of the crypt, killing any undead that block the path, and step outside into Agamand Mills. Wailing Ancestor spirits patrol just beyond the entrance.

Head to the windmill base marked with a yellow question mark and hand the skull to Coleman Farthing. His completion text confirms the remains belong to Dargol, and the Complete Quest button pays out 1 silver 10 copper plus 75 Undercity reputation.

In the state of Tirisfal Glades after the Battle for Lordaeron, you can still kill Captain Dargol and start the quest, but Coleman Farthing only shows the question mark in the earlier version of the zone. Speak to Zidormi to shift back before you try to turn it in.

You can also verify that one with a quest ID check:

/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(25030))

Handing in Devlin’s Remains unlocks Deaths in the Family, which continues Coleman’s collection of the Agamand family bones. It is worth running straight away while you are still in the area, since it keeps you in the same corner of Tirisfal Glades instead of sending you back and forth from Brill a second time.
