The U.F.O. ending in SILENT HILL: Townfall is the joke conclusion that the game files as the Sci-Fi ending, and it is the only ending that can cut the story short before the final boss. It is locked behind New Game Plus, it ignores your Discoveries and kill counts entirely, and it comes down to four objects scattered across four different parts of the game.
Quick answer: In New Game Plus, read all three Strange Books and grab the Strange Access Card, then use the card on the reader beside the last door in Part 6 to trigger the ending.
Requirements for the Sci-Fi ending in Silent Hill Townfall
The conditions are short, but every one of them is mandatory. Miss a single book and the card reader will not open the door.
- You must be playing New Game Plus. The Strange Books and the Strange Access Card do not exist on a first playthrough.
- All three Strange Books have to be examined in the same run.
- The Strange Access Card must be in your inventory when you reach the final corridor.
- Your Discoveries and kill totals do not matter, since this ending overrides whichever standard ending you were heading toward.
- Strange Postcards point toward these steps, but collecting them is not a requirement.

| Item | Part and chapter | Where it is |
|---|---|---|
| Strange Book #1 | Part 1: Arrival, Ch. 3 | Zoe’s House bedroom, under the bedside table |
| Strange Access Card | Part 2: Zoe, Ch. 6 | Hotel upstairs, behind the symbol door |
| Strange Book #2 | Part 4: Clara Woods, Ch. 10 | Hospice store on Atlas Square |
| Strange Book #3 | Part 6: Simon, Ch. 15 | Room 621 in SWDP – Different |
The titles are worth checking as you go, since they confirm you picked up the right object. In order, they are History of Space Flight, 1952–1992, Freeze Me / Wake Me by Elias Fisher, and A Map of Nowhere Else – The Future of Interstellar Travel.
How to collect every Sci-Fi ending item in order

Activate the symbols in this sequence: Bird → then Tree → then Planet → then Bird → then Trinity → then Satellite → then Satellite → then Fish → then Rocket → then Planet → then Dog → then Monument. Trinity is represented by the three-legged triangle, while Monument appears as the tall pillar.
One wrong button wipes the whole sequence, but there is no lockout or penalty. Just start the order again from the bird.

How to confirm the ending triggered, and what it unlocks
Opening the door after the card swipe plays the ending cutscene right there. There is no final boss fight and no walk to the pier, so if the credits start rolling straight out of that corridor, the ending has fired correctly.
Two things land once it finishes. You get the Sci-fi-lent Hill trophy or achievement, and the Pistol-3000 becomes available as a weapon for future New Game Plus runs. That gun makes the real final boss considerably easier later, since you can pour damage into the boss and mostly ignore the other enemies in the arena.
Save before the card reader to keep the other endings in reach
Because the card swipe ends the run on the spot, make a manual save in Part 6 after you have picked up Strange Book #3 and the Gold Coin, before you head down toward the exit door. From that one save you can branch three ways.
Reload that save and you can also feed the Gold Coin to the Guide Dog bank in the red hallway for the Dog ending, or ignore both the dog and the card reader and fight the final boss normally for Justice. Swiping the card first without a save means replaying the whole run to see the others.
Worth remembering that the Dog and Sci-Fi routes share almost the entire path through New Game Plus, so most players grab the three coins and the three books on the same run and let the save file sort out which ending they watch first.
