Graveyard Keeper 2: How to Get a Tooth

The Tooth is crafted from a single Skull, but you need the Formulation Bench and Polished Bronze first.

The Tooth is a Body parts item in Graveyard Keeper 2, and it never drops from a corpse directly. You make it, which means the whole chain runs through two tech trees, one workbench build, and one autopsy on the table in the Morgue.

Quick answer: Craft a Tooth at the Formulation Bench using 1 Skull. The Skull comes from the Remove skull action at Autopsy Table I in the Morgue.

What you need before crafting a Tooth

Four things gate the recipe. Sort all of them out before you start hauling bodies around.

  • The Skull and Teeth technology, which unlocks the Tooth recipe itself.
  • The Formulation Bench blueprint from the Theology tech tree.
  • Bronze Polishing from the Metallurgy tree, so you can produce Polished Bronze for the build.
  • Anatomy mastery 1, which the Formulation Bench requires to run the recipe.

Unlock and build the Formulation Bench

Open the tech screen and go to the Theology tab. Find the Formulation Bench blueprint and check its build cost, since Polished Bronze is the part most players are missing.

Switch to the Metallurgy tree and take Bronze Craft, then the Bronze Polishing skill underneath it. Polished Bronze cannot be made until Bronze Polishing is researched.
Head to Woodworking Workbench I in the yard and queue up Polished Bronze. Make enough to cover the bench cost in one trip so you are not running back for a single unit.

Go down into the Writing Basement and open the build menu under the Writing Room category. Place the Formulation Bench there and pay the Polished Bronze plus the remaining materials.
Interact with the finished bench and open the Tooth entry. The recipe lists a single Skull as its only ingredient, which confirms the tech and the build both registered.

Get a Skull from a body at the Autopsy Table

Skulls are harvested, not bought. Bring a corpse to the Morgue and work it on Autopsy Table I.

Place a body on Autopsy Table I in the Morgue and open the action list. Pick Remove skull, then read the mastery requirement and the potential points shown next to it.
Play through the autopsy mini-game on the corpse. Finish it cleanly and the Skull drops into your inventory, ready to carry back downstairs.

One Skull equals one Tooth, so extract as many as the corpses in your Morgue allow if you plan to use Teeth for alchemy.

Craft the Tooth and confirm it worked

Return to the Formulation Bench in the Writing Basement with the Skull on you. Select the Tooth recipe and queue it.

Let the craft run its four ticks. When it finishes, the Skull is consumed and the Tooth appears in your inventory, and the bench pays out +1 Red and +1 Blue tech point for the craft.

The full cost per Tooth is small, but the energy and insanity add up if you batch a lot of them in one session.

Teeth stack up to 50, so a long autopsy run does not clog your inventory.

What the Tooth is used for

Outside of alchemy, the Tooth has one direct recipe use. Summon Fairy at the Kitchen Table consumes one Tooth.

In the alchemy system the Tooth contributes 1 Red rune and 1 Green rune to a mix, which is why it turns up across so many formulas. The formulas that lean on it most are below, counted by how many valid ingredient mixes include it.

Studying a Tooth for blue tech points

Spending one Tooth at the Study Table returns +20 blue tech points. The study consumes the item along with 3 Science, and each item can only be studied a single time, so the payout is one-off rather than a farm.

The study itself takes 8 ticks at 2 energy per tick. With the Researcher perk that drops to 5 ticks and 1 energy per tick, which is a meaningful saving if you are working through a pile of body parts in one sitting.

Once the Formulation Bench is standing and the Morgue is stocked, the Tooth is one of the cheapest conversions in the game. Extract, walk downstairs, queue, repeat.
