The Barista Station turns part of your restaurant into a coffee bar with its own stream of to-go customers, and it arrived with Update 19 on September 19, 2026. Those customers never sit down and never count against your customer cap, so every upgrade you buy at the counter is pure extra income on top of your dining floor.
Quick answer: Max Brew Speed first, then Rush Hour, then Big Spenders, and spend Diamonds on Golden Roast last. Brew Speed and Rush Hour cap at +50% each.
What you need before upgrading the Barista Station
The station itself is sold by the Stations Merchant, a new vendor standing at an outdoor stand in the plaza. It costs $25,000,000 and does not appear in the Shopkeeper’s Appliances list, so use the plaza teleport button on the left of the screen to reach the merchant directly.
Placement needs a clear run of three slots in your layout, so shift tables or appliances out of the way before you try to set it down. After that, three things gate your income at the counter.
- A staff member assigned as barista — either a Cook or a Waiter works.
- Tea Leaves in stock, grown from the Tea Plant crop.
- Station level, which rises as you serve and unlocks one new drink per level across Black Coffee, Hot Tea, Matcha, Iced Latte, Matcha Latte and Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Barista Station upgrade list and max levels
Walk up to the station and open its menu to see the upgrade lines. Brew Speed, Rush Hour and Golden Roast each top out at a +50% bonus.

Brew Speed, Rush Hour and Big Spenders are bought with Cash and Diamonds as the levels climb. Golden Roast is the Diamond line, so it is the one to leave alone until your Diamond balance is comfortable.
Best upgrade order for the Barista Station
Levelling the station unlocks drinks one at a time, and the later drinks are the higher-value ones. Getting Brew Speed and Rush Hour up early speeds that unlock chain along as well.
2x payout and 2x speed boosts
Alongside the permanent upgrade lines, the station has a 20-minute 2x payout and 2x speed boost. Fire it when the counter is already fully staffed and stocked with Tea Leaves — a doubled rate on a station that runs dry halfway through wastes most of the window.
Keep Tea Leaves stocked so the station keeps brewing
Tea and matcha drinks run on Tea Leaves, which come from the Tea Plant crop added in the same update. The plant is a premium seed sold by the Shopkeeper under the Farming tab at $48,000 each, and it frequently sells out.
Skip inspecting the stall manually: in your Manager’s settings, create an automatic task that purchases the Tea Plant each time it returns to stock. The Manager will replenish your farm in the background as you run the floor.
How to confirm the station is running
A station that has not started yet shows a floating CLOSED label above it, sitting next to the Upgrade prompt. Once a Cook or Waiter is assigned and you have Tea Leaves, that label clears and to-go customers begin queueing at the counter for you to claim their cash.
If you try to assign a barista without ingredients, the game throws up an “Ugh! You’re out of ingredients!” message and the station stays shut. Plant and harvest Tea Leaves first, then assign staff again — the upgrade levels you have already bought remain, and they start earning the moment the counter opens.
